Derek and his crew really came through for us on short notice and did a fantastic job! We were in the process of remodeling our kitchen and main level when we learned that the painter we had used for years suddenly left the business. The remodeling contractor (who did not do painting) was going to install the cabinets in a week and I wanted to get the walls painted before the cabinets went in. I contacted Derek and he responded promptly. Even though he was booked he managed to come for a few hours and prime/paint before the cabinets went in. He also gave me a very fair estimate that indluded premium Benjamin Moore paint to complete the paint job in the kitchen, remainder of first level, powder room and upper level hall. Derek brought his crew in when the remodel was done and got all the prep and painting done. They were punctual and professional from start to finish. They were respectful of our house and cleaned up so well as they went along you would not have known they were there in the first place except for the great looking paint job. We were particulary concerned about an oak-stained bay window that they had to sand and paint white but the end result looks terrific. We definitely plan to use them for future painting jobs.

My experience with Mark has been a complete nightmare! I so regret using him a third time after 2 previous experiences of unexplained loss of a great deal of cash! The only reason is that he does a good job painting. The latest and most heartbreaking incident was November 28 , 2018 he started a job to paint 2 bedrooms. On November 29th I looked in my jewelry box that was on the dresser in my bedroom and 2 beloved, beautiful heirloom jade pendants that had been in my family for 4 generations (appraised at $3000) were missing. I filed a police report and asked Mark and his assistant Ishmael if he had seen them. They denied. I always keep them in the jewelry box and no where else. There is only me and my husband in the house. I am devastated. I have anxiety/depression from this. Rewind to the first incident on Nov2015, he and a different assistant Bif painted the back door in the lower level of the house. At the same time 2 other handymen unrelated to Mark were doing the bathroom. A few months later I realized that $5000 cash was missing from a locked metal desk drawer (the drawer was somehow broken into) in the same area as the door that Mark was painting. At the time I thought maybe it was the other workers doing the bathroom who stole it. The second occurrence(I cant believe I used him again)was August 2017, Mark and Bif painted the living room. Mark stood in my living room and said to me with a smile These people, they have so much stuff, if you took something they wouldnt even notice, it happens all the time , strange thing to say. Couple days later I noticed a tiny drop of paint on my wallet which I left on the kitchen counter. A few days later I realized a $100 bill was missing from the wallet. I am shattered from the loss of the jade pendants. I try not to think about it because it fills me with rage, I feel violated and my peace of mind is destroyed. I cry every day for the beautiful carved antique pendants, one of which my late mom wore for 24 years and never took off. I cant forgive myself for not being more careful.

    VAL Remodeling Corp
Working with Val was so easy and he is a master at what he does! His attention to detail is incredible and, unlike some contractors, he works with you to build your vision from start to finish. I threw him some curve balls along the way and he just rolled with it. Great attitude! Definitely recommend him and will hire him again in the future.

From the beginning Jack was great to work with. As with having any home project It is difficult to have people in your house for months. By the end of it though we were sad somewhat for it to be over because we would miss the wonderful people that were at our house every day that it was truly a joy. Jack and his team did an excellent job.

    iBuild Inc
Initially, the demo went very quickly, as did the framing of the new space. I had renovated my previous home myself so I at least understand the rudimentary basics and know quality work when I see it. I felt the team was working very hard and communication was good between iBuild, the onsite team and me. Our sales guy Kevin was sort of a 'slick' guy that was more sales and not construction, but the project manager / foreman on site seemed to have everything under control. After several weeks there was a breakdown in communication and it appeared the onsite sub became too busy with other jobs and mistakes started to be made. I would reach out to Kevin constantly and get generic answers and no movement. Our deadline for the work was missed and I was furious. I called the main line for iBuild (Patty - office manager) and explained what was happening. Apparently the sub and Kevin had not kept the office informed of what was going on or at least not the full extent. The owner, Tony DeAngelis, then called and setup a visit. He was extremely upset and frustrated that this had happened. While it was too late to meet our deadline, he took steps to rectify the situation, letting go of Kevin and the sub from the company while bringing in a long time employee to ensure the job was finished as quickly as possible. He made sure either he was available or Patty, the office manager, to keep me updated. On top of that, he offered a significant amount of money back as a good faith gesture and promised that if we ever were to consider iBuild again, he would personally ensure our satisfaction. Obviously, we were not happy how things broke down in the middle, but felt Tony and his team's efforts went over the top to fix the situation. Additionally, we felt a lot of the work was very high quality, especially the custom built in bench and cubbies which were built to my very specific design. Given that, and his very real frustration over the situation when we met in person, we are planning to give iBuild another opportunity on upcoming projects we have. While you always want a job to go perfect from beginning to end, I think seeing how a firm responds in a tough situation can sometimes tell you more of their character and quality and I would recommend iBuild to others. I am giving iBuild a B since the project didn't go 100% perfect, but will happily address my review and edit as necessary upon using their services again.

Maks Maintenance and General Construction Inc.
We had a wonderful experience using Mak Construction to finish our basement. Dominik was a fantastic project manager. He kept me in the loop throughout the entire process and included me in every decision. He's very professional and extremely skilled in his craft. Dominik's crew was also wonderful to work with. They were always timely, respectful and the quality of work is impeccable. I look forward to using Dominik for all future projects!

    CertaPro Painters of Elmhurst
Very professional and responsive. Estimate was competitive. Timing did not work for us so we hired someone who could accommodate a quick completion date. We would call on CertaPro for future projects.

    Budget Right Handyman
Luis Martinez did an excellent job on our drywall repair project. He covered drywall holes resulting from a previous plumbing re-piping. He also repainted the area. When finished, it looks like he was never there! Punctual, professional, efficient and definitely skilled in what I think is an art. I highly recommend.

    Chicago Water & Fire Restoration
Cost of cleanup and repairs paid directly by homeowners insurance. The cleanup crew arrived the same day and were very professional, got the cleanup done by evening. The repair crew worked with us to restore the finished basement, They worked with us to select the flooring material to go with existing floors, and found matching wood paneling so that we did not need to rip out existing undamaged panels. They showed up on time every day, were nice, and got the whole job done in a short period of time. They were neat and clean, and cleaned up well after themselves. After the job was complete, they sent someone back a couple of days later to handle a few missed items (shelf that needed hung, doors that were sticking). Overall, we were very happy with their work and would not hesitate to recommend them.

    CertaPro Painters of Elmhurst
Called George and he was able to give us a reasonable estimate over the phone. Within a couple of days we had painters John and Jim come in and prep, primer and paint my son's room and closet. They were here at 8 am and kept us posted on what they were doing. Very nice guys. Did a good job, cleaned up and were in and out in 1 day. This is the second time we used CertaPro and we would use them again. You might find someone to do it cheaper but having professionals that know what to do and are good at it is worth the price.
