Carpet Installation reviews in Elmhurst

    Mr Carpet Shop at Home
Everyone was very responsive and punctual and polite. They installed a carpet runner on our stair, including a very tricky 90 degree turn. I think it looks great, our previously slippery stairs are now very secure and easy to run up and down holding my toddler or heavy items. Thank you!

    Mr Carpet Shop at Home
We were very pleased with this company. Bob came out measured and showed us 3 grades of carpet and padding that he would recommend for us based on the amount of traffic in the room. At no time did he try to push the more expensive options and actually said that the middle grade of both would definitely work for our situation. He also helped decide which color would work best in our room. A week and a half later, our room was finished and we are so pleased with the results. The installers (who were wonderfu!) took up the old carpeting and padding, removed it from our property, and also moved the heavier pieces of furniture. I highly recommend this company to anyone needing new carpeting!

Nu-Way Systems Carpet Dyeing & Cleaning
Nu-Way cleaned my carpeting 3 months ago, along with cleaning the edges along the wall.  I had noticed the soil seemed to be reappearing in my hallway and one bedroom at the edges again.  I emailed this to Rick and he immediately responded with a telephone call.  They  came out and redid these areas once again at no cost.  I was very impressed, because my carpeting is over 20 yrs old.  But they insisted that they wanted me to be pleased with their service and had no problem redoing the edges in the hallway and bedroom.

Ken is great to work with and super helpful with material and color choices.  Scheduling and installation could not have been easier.  Carpets of Elmhurst is my go to- and has been for 20 years.  Personal service is important to me and Ken and his team do not disappoint.

Great.  I accidentally put a hot oven rack on the top stair of our basement stairs and burned it.  I called Mike and he was able to come within two days.  You can't even tell that the carpet on that stair was replaced.  He was fast, nice, and professional.

    DeSitter Flooring
After the initial visit they told us they would call us, e-mail us, or be back with the estimate after they worked it all out.
We have never heard back from them. One month has past and still no word, this is a ridiculous way to get work or a good report.

    Olson Rug & Flooring
After having to remove carpeting due to water damage following a major rain storm, my sister contacted Olson Rug and  Flooring in  Bloomingdale to inquire about having a ceramic tile floor installed in her basement.  The representative at the store was very nice, showed samples of tile as well as carpet flooring options and made a date to come to the site to measure and discuss what would need to be done.  At the house, a quote of $5000.00 was given that was to include the tile, all other needed materials as well as installation.  We were told that an installer would come out to assess the job if she decided to commit to Olson doing the work.  My sister asked if the installer's assessment could result in a change in price and she was assured that would not happen.  A few days later, she went back to the Bloomingdale location to sign a contract and pay a 50% deposit, as was required.  Again, she was assured that this was a firm price.  Subsequently, the installer called, made an appointment and came to the house to discuss the job.  Since it is a basement floor in an older house, there are some areas that would need patching and leveling before the tile could be installed, and this was discussed and acknowledged not only with the installer, but also with the sales rep. when he came out to give the estimate.
A few days later, the sales rep. called my sister to inform her that the installer had decided that the job would require extra patching material and that this would result in a price increase of $1400.00 - bringing the total to $6400.00.  When the sales rep. was reminded that he had promised the price would not be altered after the installer's visit, he replied "Did I say that?".  Upon being told that he needed to honor the contract, he said that he couldn't and there was really nothing he could do.  Needless to say, my sister and I feel the whole approach was a bait-and-switch to get the customer to commit, and then try to coerce them to give more money.  She refused to go along with this and canceled the job.  We will not use Olson Rug for anything in the future - their promises, and apparently their contracts, are meaningless.

The experience was very pleasant overall. Our salesperson was Susan, who was very friendly, pleasant, and knowledgeable with no pressure on buying the carpeting or on setting up the installation date. When the date was set, the installers called before coming out, giving us a 2-hour window of when they would arrive. They were there soon after they called and began work immediately and worked straight through the day, finishing the job in approximately 8 hours.

They were very professional and cleaned up the entire work area completely. All furniture was moved back to their original locations and they were very careful in handling and moving the furniture around, taking care not to nick walls or doors. The quality of the carpet-laying job appeared to be excellent and we were very pleased with their work.

    Comfort Carpets Inc
I purchased the deal that Comfort Carpets was offering - $400 for $1,000
worth of flooring work. I should have NEVER done this w/out doing my
research first. I would have never gone with this company had I known
    what I was getting into.
Before I jump into my experience, I want you to know that I am not one to complain or write negative posts. It just isn't something I normally find any reason to do nor is it time I want to spend. In fact I have used Angie's List for a few years now and this is the first time I am posting any sort of review. Our experience with this company was so frustrating and disappointing I feel it is absolutely necessary for me to share so that no one has to go through what my husband and I have had to deal with.
Overall customer service was absolutely horrible. The owner of the company (Rob) was very unfriendly and the workers he used were terribly unprofessional. The gentlemen that was responsible for stripping our existing hardwood floors and recoating them used his children and family to move our furniture in and out. At some point during the moving experience the door to our oven was broken off. Given the age of the oven we had to purchase a new one, but we only received a percentage of the total amount from Comfort Carpets to go towards the large expense.
We had new floors installed in the kitchen, up our stairway and in
our second floor hall. The job that they did on the new floor
installation is absolutely horrible. Everything looks totally
unfinished, unprofessionally done and incorrect. There are edges that are uneven and when I brought that up they just went through and tried to fill the holes with some sort of sealant that looked terrible and the color didn't even match the wood.
When I spoke with Rob about the poor work, he was less than willing to work with us. He kept trying to down play the issues and would just look at us with no response or suggestions for how to fix it. What little help he did offer we did not want to take because it would have been with the same people that screwed it up in the first place and we didn't trust that they would be able to fix anything in the right way. And to be honest, I just didn't have it in me to continue to work with him.
So now we sit with a kitchen, stairwell and second floor that looks half done. It honestly looks like something that someone who has never done flooring might be able to handle. It's disappointing at best.
We have brought in other flooring companies to quote fixing it and we are looking at paying just as much, if not more, to get everything fixed the way it is supposed to look. This is not money we have given the enormous expense it was the first time around. The quotes we are getting to fix Comfort Carpet's work includes ripping out all of the stairs and starting over from scratch as well as re-stripping and sealing the floors because they didn't use a good enough product or enough layers of the coating and it's already wearing. Everytime I walk up the stairs or go into the kitchen I notice the shoddy work and am reminded about the enormous mistake I made in choosing these guys to do this work for us.
I would STRONGLY discourage you from using Comfort Carpets. The deal that they are offering is NOT worth it. You will end up having a horrible customer service experience and you run the risk of getting work as crappy as we got which in the long run is costing us a whole lot more than $600, which is what you "save" with their deal.

    GCI Flooring Inc
It's his company, and he used to do a lot of carpet installations for the great indoors, and they are closing down so he is losing a lot of business. He is very good. That guy is quality. It's beautiful. The price is so reasonable. It's hard to find people like him. When the main carpet installation for basement was completely re-done, that was filled into the price when we got the carpet, so I am not sure what the price was. My room upstairs that was done cost me $300. He said it was supposed to be around $350, but he cut the price down. Then he took another one when we still had some carpet left, and he had the guy do that for free. He dropped it off. He was going by the house the other day and the doorbell rang around 9 I don't know where I was in the house I ran to see who it was and he dropped it off he was in the area and wanted to make sure we had it. He also had packing put on along with the binding.
