    Olsen Tuckpointing Co
Great service by a truly professional company, Received a response asap for a rep to visit and assess my needs and an estimate response was received in a few days. A special order for the limestone caps required a couple of weeks and the company lived up to their commitment of contacting upon arrival to schedule installation. The tuckpointing was needed on the 45 year old home and the installation of the stair caps had fixed and enhanced the stairwell.

Alex ordered the Indiana limestone caps in appropriate sizes and then applied natural rustic edges in his shop. The installation looks great and is architecturally correct for our 1920's vintage house

They were professional and on time but the price was way too high for what I needed to do. They didn't want to do what I needed to have done. They quoted my $1,200 per wall for the tuck pointing. I don't think the job was big enough for them so they inflated their pricing.

Sidewalk looks beautiful, the design and craftsmanship were over expectations and now we have a beautiful walkway.  As Paul would admit he is a little rough around the edges but he knows how to get a job done and the guys he has working for him are great.

The project was quick and easy for the well trained crew who has done a job on the Navy station Great Lakes military base.  The crew cleaned up after themselves and asked if I want to be notified when the first phase of the job was complete.  I seen the first completed phase and the bricks were drying out and left a pink/salmon color.  The Olsen employee said not to work worry next week a acid wash will be done to restore the bricks natural color.  Sure enough next week came about and the acid wash did it's purpose.  The second phase of the job was a success no issues after that so now I am feeling comfortable when winter arrives and when a big rain shower occurs no more leaks because of the job from Olsen Tuck pointing Company.

When we gave Bob our 50% deposit, we didn't hear from him for some time. I travel for a living, so I really wanted to coordinate the job to be done on days I was home so I could keep an eye on the work being done. It was very difficult getting a hold of Bob. When Bob eventually got back to us and would schedule workers to come (for a while I gave up on trying to be home), my wife would stay home all day waiting, only for Bob & company to be a no-show. This was maddening, but it happened several times over the next few weeks. I told him that I wanted my money back if he was going to continue to blow us off. Finally, he came by, and I told him that I was going to sue him and make sure he didn't do this to other people. He seemed pretty contrite, and I held him to a close standard of communication until the work was finished. Bob tried to make it right, and he actually helped me with a few other small projects before he left.

Fast forward to last week. I have since moved out of that house, but I kept it as a rental. My tenant calls me to report some bubbling in the ceiling and walls below the repair. I go over to look, and my tenant had understated the damage. When I get up into the attic, both the area surrounding the chimney and the stack repair have pretty significant water penetration. I called Bob right away, and we arrange to have him come by two days later. When I called to confirm the day of our meeting, his phone had been disconnected. I thought, "Here we go." I told my tenant I didn't expect to hear from Bob, but that I would make it right. As I am saying this, Bob showed up! Yes! I showed him the issues, and I told him I expected him to fix the source of the problem and the subsequent damage to the ceiling and wall. Bob agreed. I told him to coordinate with both myself and my renter to get it done within a few days. Bob agreed. That was over a week ago. Bob is not returning my calls, nor did he ever contact my tenant as agreed. When I originally hired him, Bob's company had an A rating with the BBB. Now his account is suspended.

While Terry's estimate was greatly appreciated and, based on other estimates of comparable work, quite fair, we ultimately selected another contractor of comparable repute to provide the work based on that contractor's ability to coordinate and integrate job with other roofing/gutter work underway.

I felt like he really knew his business - he has been doing it for 25 years. I felt like he was the most qualified of all the estimates we got. I felt he could really complete the task quickly. The work was very good and the quality was great. He came highly recommended by another masonry company highly rated on Angie's List who did not travel out to my area. When they dug up all the dirt they put all the dirt on my neighbor's yard and they didn't clean it back up. I spent 6 hours shoveling it back and correcting their yard. I told him where our property line ended but some of our neighbors grass still got torn up. That was my only pet peeve - I feel like it is their job to clean up that mess and leave things they way they looked before the job. He should have made his subcontractors clean it up.

During our last major rain event, the wall of the fireplace leaked and there was extensive damage to the ceiling. The repairs were done to seal the chimney. Ron suggested that, instead of performing major work, we start conservatively and seal the chimney with caulking and install the vent covers. Time will tell whether the problem has been fixed. But, without doubt, the company was very responsive and addressed the issue responsibly. If I do have issues in the future, I will not hesitate to call them back out!
