    I chose Delnor hospital to deliver my first child since I had done research online and found their hospital attractive and modern. Their website even mentioned mom's getting a free massage during their stay. I was very impressed by the services depicted on their website so decided to deliver at their hospital. Well the hospital ended up not impressing me at all. There was no mention by staff of a free massage during my stay, I was promised things by nurses like coming back to bring my medication or unplugging me from my IV in 30 minutes so I can walk to washroom and no follow through by the nurses. I had to keep asking for things two times or more and the place was not even busy during this time. They are very stingy on baby supplies too. They only put a few diapers and formula in the baby cart and so I would need to keep asking for more and they only gave a few at a time. They must think moms are planning to steal these supplies and take them home or something! I felt that when nurses switched shifts there was a lack of communication between nurses and the patient was left in the dark. I never knew who was my nurse at the time since the nurse would disappear for hours until a new person showed up and I would have to ask if she was my new nurse. I think in this day in age hospitals are competing with each other to provide the best patient care and best patient experience and Delnor needs to make huge improvements in order to make patient stays a positive experience. I'm currently expecting my second child and do not plan on returning to Delnor.

    Checking in was easy. They brought us up to a birthing suite where the delivery occurred. It's a brand new hospital so all the amenities were fantastic. Flat screen tv's, music, anything you wanted. The nurses were out of this world. The doctors, even the anesthesiologist, were fantastic. Once we were done with the delivery we were moved to the recovery room and the mother/baby room and they were all private. They have everything you'd want, including a view of the pond and the outside nature area which is just gorgeous. They checked in on us every hour to see how we were and how things were going. Even the food was good, and that's saying something. We would definitely come here again. In fact, I hope that when I have my first heart attack I have it here.

    My husband took me to the emergency room for unbearable pain in my left leg. I expected to get some pain medication and be sent home, honestly, because there was nothing to see. But the staff believed I was in pain, checked on me consistently while I waited for a doctor, and were very concerned for my welfare. In the end, they recommended I be admitted for more tests. Everyday a nurse came in and surveyed me, asking me how I rated the quality of care. The check-in and check-out procedures went smoothly. I have been in several hospitals through the years and Sherman's service was outstanding. The only process that didn't go well was the handling of the medications I am taking already. I didn't get approval from the pharmacist to use an injection I brought with me until the day I was checking out! As a result, I missed two days' worth of medication.
