Electrician reviews in Edwardsville

  • Excellent! Chris was incredibly easy to work with, did top notch work, even came in on one of his off days so that we could close our house on time. He was very affordable and went above and beyond our expectations. Would definitely hire again!
    - Josh G.
  • He did a great job. Kept a clean workspace. Worked on one of the hottest days of the year and finished on time. Scheduled work around electric company and lined up inspections. He had us up and running with little time down.
    - Joe K.
  • The job was to remove and replace a chandelier in my two story foyer. This required that they set up scaffolding. They arrived on time and completed the job in less time than I thought it would take. The estimate they gave was spot on. I was very pleased with their work.
    - Leslie O.
  • I was very pleased with the service.  The provider scheduled the repair for the next day, arrived promptly and installed the necessary equipment.  While he was in the process of correcting the issue, he noticed a few other items that were not safe.  He noted & corrected them without any additional charge.  He knew the electrical code in our area.  He not only saved us money, but he made our home safer as well.

We are going to be adding onto our house shortly.  We asked the general contractor to sub contract with Edwardsville Electric.  We were that pleased.

If you need a one word description of the service provided it would be professional.

  • Great! Edwardsville Electric was the electrical sub on our remodel/new construction, and Rick and his crew have provided me with every single bit of electrical help - and then some! - over the years. ?I would never have anyone else work on my house.

  • In this case, I didn't get what I paid a lot for.
The electrician was neat, clean, friendly, and professional. He suggested possible ways to alleviate an overloaded circuit in my kitchen: ultimately, to install two new outlets in the kitchen, each on its own circuit. When he showed me the pricing for the job I thought it was quite high, but he explained his credentials and the special care and tools he would use, so I decided to accept the offer, believing this meant the high price would be balanced by a job done quickly and extremely well.
The electrician cut the first hole in the wall and hit the stud. Accidents happen, he felt genuinely bad about it, and he made a good-faith effort to contact the company's carpenter to repair the damage that day. The carpenter, based in St. Louis, reportedly said he didn't want to cross the river to Illinois. (That's why I can't rate an "A" for professionalism.) The electrician wrote on the receipt that the company would reimburse me for whoever I hired to patch the wall. I appreciated that, but the fact remains that I now have to hire a second service and take another day off work -- and that's in addition to an electrician's service I was already paying on the very "high end" for.
The second outlet went in without incident, but once completed it was obvious that the hole in the wall is slightly bigger on the right side than the outlet panel. Maybe the carpenter I have to hire now can fix that, too.
In short, the high cost of the work did not measure up to the quality of the work. Now I'm in the position of having to schedule a repair of the company's work. That they will reimburse for it is honorable, but no less an inconvenience and annoyance.

  • We were presented with a detailed proposal on what work would be done and the cost.  Once we accepted the proposal is was a little while before the work was started, but that had been discussed and expected.  Wade and his crew did a wonderful job.  The new retaining wall and stamped concrete patio are beautiful.  They also built a small deck which turned out great.  The only problem was that the work was started late fall of 2014 and due to the unpredictable weather the patio needed to be re-cleaned and resealed again early this spring.
Although it was not in the plans, Wade told us that if we needed help with planting he would take care of it.  As promised, they came out and planted a few bushes for us around the patio, which didn't take his crew long, but was very helpful to us.  We really didn't know what we wanted to do with the space, so had not initially contracted for any landscaping to be done.  Wade worked with us closely on every aspect of the job from moving a small fountain for me to installing the lighting around the patio.  The new fire pit is perfectly placed, exactly what we wanted.
Wade was always available, we didn't play phone tag as he answered his phone whenever I called.  If he wasn't on site every day he would come by to make sure the work had been done.  He and his crew cleaned up each day and he continually kept us informed about what was going on.  The only problems we encountered were caused by the weather. not cooperating.
I would definitely contract with RCD Rives Cotracting Design again and highly recommend them.

  • Overall I am quite pleased with the job Dennis and his men did.  It took a bit longer than expected (approx. eight working days versus four expected), but the delay was because the job ended up being more difficult (angled deck board placements) than anticipated, and the quoted price stayed the same.
Not all of Dennis' workers always seemed like they were sure what they were doing (had trouble with basic construction math on a couple of occasions), and it seemed he has trouble getting some to show up on time (although this could just be my perception...maybe they were at other jobs in the morning?), and that may have had something to do with the delay as well, but I'd rather the job be done right (it was) than fast.
The workers were always pleasant to talk with, kept the work area straight, cleaned up well after the job was done, and took extra time to make sure the deck was completed in the way that I wanted.  I will definitely be keeping GCS on my list of contractors to call when I need future work done.

  • My son needed an electrician and I told him I'd look and see if Angies List had anyone they'd recommend in the area. I provided him with 3 names from Angies List, and a fourth that was recommended by someone in the area. First he called the person not on Anglies List, they came out in the morning and told him it would be $1,300.00, because not only did the ceiling box/wiring need to be replaced, he said he needed 4 new circuits added.
My son then called DeMond and within 2 hours an electricaln came out. He fixed the ceiling box/wiring, reinstalled the light fixture and said the additional circuits were not necessary. He also walked through the house with my son and told what him if anything might need to be upgraded if he was looking to put the house on the market. He told him where GFI outlets would be required to be up to code. (The house is about 50 years old.) Even told him of some things he could do himself. He quoted a price which was reasonable and said give a call if and when he wants the outlets done. And all that for $125.00. Very professional and knew his stuff. I told him I'd probably be calling him for a couple of jobs also.

  • They were very good. They were very professional and quick. I had a bid from somebody else, they helped me see I was being told by another contractor that I needed to do more work than the city required and it was going to cost me a lot more money. They helped me see that and that I didn't need the additional work.
