Landscaping reviews in East Dundee

We used Seasonal Landscaping last year for a new patio and they also put in some landscaping around the patio. Some plants did not make it this year and I called asking what they were. They offered to replace them, no questions asked. I originally gave this company a B last year but a company is everything if they stand behind their products. I appreciate the follow through knowing I wasn't paying them anything this time around. We will need more work next year and I will definitely use them. Our patio still looks great and we LOVE it. Thank you.

They were very responsive to my call. They came to my home and tuned-up and changed the oil in the snow blower at a reasonable price. The snow blower runs better than when I bought it. They let you know if they will be delayed for your appointment. Very pleased with the quality of service.

It became clear they had problems when we had to call THEM to mow the lawn. Communication via telephone and or email was poor at best. In November we called and were told they do not mow past October 31. We had already paid for November and Rob refused to give us a refund. Obviously, the contract meant nothing to them. VERY UNETHICAL business practices.

Initially all looked very good. Since then, three of the bushes and one Sunset Maple tree have all died. I was promised replacements for the bushes which never happened. The tree died last year (2017) from improper planting. The strapping was not removed from the root ball and the tree was girdled (self strangled). I'm assuming Oakridge is out off business now?

Great. Since we were unsure which post and bracket to select. We told him the ones we were considering. Doug selected the best choice. Purchased and delivered the items necessary for the installation. He did a very professional job and we are happy with the results. Will call him in the spring for additional tasks we need assistance with.

Excuse after excuse about starting. Once started more excuses about finishing. Rarely monitored work site , Andy and foreman Freddie were rarely there. Bragged to me about the 100k job they were so happy to have. Reason for all the delays and inattentiveness ? Layout had to be changed due to poor communication and then they blame you. Brother of foreman exhibited attitude and rarely worked , left Jesus to do most of the work. I paid in full and Andy promised to complete polymeric sand at edges where it had been missed. I waited two months and nothing. After I brought this to Andy's attention he tried to convince me to wait until spring and exhibited hostility in more than one email. A unique take on professionalism . Grudging put sand on edges but since the rain in the last few weeks it has washed away. Guess I will have to do this myself.

It's not how you start a project with a contractor but how you finish it. The project started out very professionally with a design for both the patio and landscaping. Andy and Tim provided us with a quote and promised to be flexible with the plan. We lost track mid-project....We had problems (as it is with any project) and communication wasn't always there, it was a mess for awhile (expect a mess)...but in the end the mess was cleaned up, they listened to the issues and resolved them to our liking. We are very happy with our new patio and how it was completed. It has turned out to be a very nice space. We would use Seasonal Landscape again.

Weed Man was much more professional than I was expecting from a lawn care company. They send out papers after each service and give you a hand written section of what they noticed so you actually know what's happening with your lawn. They were able to make other recommendations but were never pushy about it, just delivering facts. I was so impressed that I now have them doing the lawns of rental properties. The added curb appeal is unbelievable.

I hired Jeff to clear my driveway and sidewalks of snow after my back surgery in Sept. He was paid $350.00 in advance for the season. I stressed to him how important it was that he clear the snow and ice as early in the day as possible to give me stable footing to be able to make it to my car so I can leave for work by 5:00 a.m. He was supposed to come out with each 2" snowfall until the end of the season. After I hired him, we had three snow events but he didn't show up until he had taken care of his commercial accounts on the mornings of Dec. 14 & 17 after I had called and begged him to do the work I had already paid him to do. He never showed up at all on Sunday, Dec. 18, so my equally disabled spouse and I had to clear the driveway and walks ourselves with great difficulty so I could get to work safely the next day. On the first day he came to shovel, he complained that the job had a lot more pavement than he thought and he should have charged more. I would like to note that he told me that he came out to look at the property before he quoted me the high price initially so he should have known exactly what I wanted cleared. If there was any question about it, he also had access to my phone number as well as Google earth to view conditions. He also said he lived in West Dundee not too far from my house so he should have been familiar with the lot sizes in the older section of town especially when we're not on a corner lot. He really should have taken care of the advance paid customers first and then the customers that were paying him per snow event later. Obviously, I am very disappointed with Jeff Richardson as well as Angie's List for this referral. I was counting on him to do my lawn and garden from spring to fall but I think I'll hire someone with a better work ethic and more honesty for that job because I don't like having to micromanage people to do the job that they are hired to do. Adults should know how to work without supervision especially when it's their own business! I also changed 'Professionalism' to an 'F', due to the provider leaving a voicemail on my phone following the review being left. In the response left, he mentioned that we had agreed to his terms and the original contract, however he said that he would be able to work with us due to our situation with our surgeries/disabilities. He also said that we had more visits than any other client he had, however I find that hard to believe because he was only out here twice.

Bob the arborist from Davey was very knowledgeable and helpful. He recommended how to trim a large, old walnut tree and confirmed that the ash trees were indeed lost. After speaking with Bob, I was very confident about the work that would be done. This is the second time that Ive had Davey provide tree service and I trust they will do the right thing for the trees in a very professional manner. Both Bobs consultation/assessment and the subsequent tree service were superb. Erasto did a spectacular job trimming the very large walnut tree. It now looks stunningly beautiful and is much safer, especially with respect to high winds. Erastos crew did a very thorough job with the tree removals and were meticulous with protecting and cleaning up the yard. The weather was unpleasantly rainy throughout the job, but they all continued working carefully and completed the work as planned. I am very pleased with the work on my trees and will definitely use Davey in the future.
