    Bohm's Better Homes
We hired him to have our basement finished. At first, he was very responsive. They came out to my house 3 days in a row and worked for a few hours. The first thing I noticed was that they had taken the screen out of the egress window and had forgotten to replace it, and they left the window wide open. Second, they had started another job before completing this one, so my basement was only half finished for a week or so. They finally came back out. The drywall they used was extremely cheap, and they never finished sanding it all down. Some parts of my walls are nice and smooth, but other parts are rough and have sawdust clumped into it. We made sure to clean the walls off and use a primer before painting, but there's still sawdust all over the place. You can barely bump the wall with your shoulder, and it'll put a dent in it. Unfortunately, I'm not exaggerating. It's like it never dried or something. The slightest touch of the wall will leave a mark. Next, we had a bedroom put down here, and he never hung doors up. We had to do that ourselves, which wasn't a huge deal, until we realized the entire door frame was crooked and uneven, so we couldn't put a door up. There were several places where the trimming was cut too short, so there's gaps in the trimming. We brought this to his attention, and he wouldn't fix it. Instead, he told us that we would need to go to Menards, purchase the same type of trim, measure it out, etc. In addition, a lot of the trim they used was really banged up with huge dents and dings. Overall, the work was very poorly done, and we are extremely dissatisfied with this company. Save your money.

    Fibonacci Construction and Remodeling Inc.
Everything was meticulously finished and professional. Nothing was slapped together. The job site was regularly cleaned and scraps taken away. This was a 2600 sq. Foot job and when a small leak happened in the tile shower they immediately repaired. Terrance the owner also had some great ideas that I incorporated.

    Gene Danneels Construction

We have used Gene on many occasions and have referred him to others we know to do projects for them. He is prompt. He is fair with his prices and has a fast pace to getting the job done to our approval. Gene cleans up at the end of each work day and leaves the project area in usable condition at all times. We have had Gene do electrical work, landscaping work, building a deck, framing and dry wall work. Plumbing work and installing ceramic tile. Over the past 7 years we have used his services at least 15 times. He is dependable and careful. When needed Gene brings helpers along to insure a quick finish to the job. He is totally responsible for the workers and pays them from the pay we give him. He maintains good rapport at all times. L & F ELECTRIC
They did a wonderful job and were able to repair the poor workmanship. Complete professionals with experience who worked efficiently and completed the job in a swift manner. They are very knowledgeable and educated in their profession! Can't thank them enough for fixing the repairs at a reasonable cost.

    Oberlander Electric
They were very prompt when I called, and I was able to explain to them what my problem is over the phone. The man came out, and told me what needed to be done. We set a date to have that done, and he bought everything that was needed. He just took care of his business. With that same incident, I called another place that was on Angie's List. I had the opposite, and I ended up not using them. It was difficult to schedule a time for them to come to the house, and then when they did, they told me that I needed to change out the entire electrical panel. There were something that wasn't right, so I said, " I'm going to call somebody else and have it assessed also."

    Oberlander Electric
Oberlander was great to work with. They were always on time. They got the work done despite the delay in the power company not showing up until 10am to cut the power. And the work was done in time to meet the power company's deadline for restoring power by 2pm. They upgraded at our request from the consumer grade to commercial grade panel. The installer was extremely informative and seemed to appreciate my presence during the install. We had used Oberlander in the past and have no reservations about using them in the future. Great job.

They are very good at what they do, but they are very expensive. People won't face a problem with their work, but they are pricey and there is no choice about it. They are tidy and they clean up after themselves. They did a really nice job. They are always on time. They wear uniform. Their truck looks good and professional. They have got the idea.

    Tri-County Irrigation & Plumbing Inc
We purchased this house in fall of 2011 and noted that the outdoor landscape lighting was in disrepair and quite damaged.   We also noted the in ground sprinkler system.  Yard was covered in leaves.
We requested the selling agent to 1) determine what company had installed the lighting and irrigation systems (Tri-County) and 2) to obtain quotes from that company or companies to restore the systems to function.
Tri-County sent a confirming page that they had inspected the irrigation system in the summer and that it was functional.  Tri-County gave a quotation (in writing) of $2800 to restore the lighting.
We took possession of the house in Nov 2011.  I called Tri-County again (with original repair quote in hand) to come out and walk the yard with me after the leaves were removed.  There were quite a few broken sprinkler heads (not in functional condition).   I asked them to requote the repairs for the lighting seeing the actual condition.   The second quote was for $3,800 to restore the lighting and $350 to repair the sprinklers (that they had said pre-purchase were fine, which was not the case).    I have all original paperwork with the quotations.   I made it very clear that I wanted the system restored to original condition.
After walking the yard during which Tri-County should have been able to ascertain the condition of the existing lighting, they provided the second quote of $3800 to restore lighting plus costs to repair sprinkler system.
Final bill was $5,100.    This indicates that Tri-County is unable to look at systems they installed originally and determine accurately what is required to restore them to function.
I cannot recommend this company under any circumstances.   The lighting and irrigation systems work, but the company is unable to provide accurate quotes for cost planning and clearaly do not look carefully at the what they are quoting.   Caveat emptor!

    Oberlander Electric
When I called for an appointment the manager asked excellent probing questions to ensure he (and I) was clear about the work we wanted done. A home visit was made within 2 days (because of my schedule) and practical options with associated cost and time involved were provided. We are well satisfied with the work and the price.

    KOENER ELECTRIC INC
On the initial visit the electrical worker completed the job of changing the sensor for the yard light.. He only changed out one of the lights to auto illuminate the walk - this was not his fault because I didn't tell him three lights were operated by one light switch, but I would have thought his power of observation would be more expert at this matter. When the bill came we had charges for services provided on days no one was home and there was no notification by the company that further work would be done at the house... thus an unexpected $700+ total bill. I was also ignorant that the workers do not come to the job with the supplies needed to perform the job, so travel and shopping time at the local hardware store is also included in the bill with no validation information to know that the time charged is legitimate. I was very disappointed because this company was chosen over Oberlander based on Angie's List recommendation. Oberlander got the next call to have a dedicated outlet put in because I could not trust Koerner Electric to follow through with what they said the work would be.

Constantly playing phone tag and would have appreciated if a message was left that I could respond to (if necessary)
