Transmission Service reviews in Des Plaines

    Schaumburg Ford
My Explorer was driving sluggish and it has about 56K miles and so I think a transmission service is due. Instead of going to the Ford dealer closest to my house, I come to Schaumburg Ford because the service adviser told me over the phone that they will replace the filter. Other dealership will only flush the fluid, a new trend in the late model Explorer. When I arrived at the dealership, the service adviser told me that they do not replace filter, only flush the transmission fluid. I asked him why, he told me that the late model Explorer does not have transmission filter. I have my doubt back in my head about this statement but I need to get the service done and the dealership promised they will work on the car right the way and so I let them work on the truck while I wait. The truck got its transmission fluid flushed and completed 10 minutes ahead of schedule. The truck drove fine afterward. I was told of other services that are needed for the truck, which I am aware of, but no hard sell. Through Google and chat with other Ford dealership parts department folks, I found out that my Explorer does have transmission filter. It is a hot topic on when the transmission filter should be replaced in the early stage since Ford does not require transmission service until 105K miles. It is understandable that many repair shops do not like to replace the transmission filter so early because it is labor intensive, but what I am not happy is that the service adviser lied to my face that the truck does not have transmission filter. The service was done on time and no hard sell on other product. Truck drove fine afterward, thus the dealership did its job. However, the made up excuse of and ldquo;no filterand rdquo; left a bad taste in the whole experience.

    Accurate Auto Clinic
So I left home with a low tire which only got lower as I drove a little bit to the gas station to get air. By the time I got about 2 blocks from home, the tire was shredded and on the rim. I called Accurate and they tried to get the car on the flatbed, but it wouldn't because of the tire. Somehow, they got it over to their shop and fixed it. They are extremely helpful and so kind and didn't even pole fun of me for driving when I should have just called them in the first place and spared everyone the hassle. Mike and his guys are the best. Oh, and they even gave me a loaner car to use while they were repairing mine!

    Tramcar Transmission
Even though it was on a Friday afternoon, they still looked at it and told me what the problem was. They told me I wouldn't have it for the weekend, but due to my situation they would work on it first thing Monday morning. I picked my car up Monday night. I have used this company for 16 years and they are very trustworthy and honest. I would highly recommend them and have done so through the years for my friends.
