    Smithereen Pest Management
Technician showed up on-time. Spotted the major source of concern and said he'd leave a report when he was complete. Report implied the full treatment as listed in contract was not completed. Both contacts to clarify the situation were ignored by the company.

Miguel was a bit late for appointment due to previous job ruining longer than expected. Upon arrival, he was very knowledgeable, helpful and professional. Over about an hour, he treated inside with liquid spray and small amounts of gel in various locations throughout the interior. In that time, he also sprayed exterior and sprinkled ant bait around the perimeter. Overall I felt he did a very complete job, spent time addressing concerns with exposure to pets & family, and was very conscientious, including putting on shoe covers. He also noticed couple spiders which the same treatment was expected to eliminate, plus he knocked down a small wasp nest outside back door. I'm quite pleased with service - and we'll see in a couple weeks time whether the ants have been eradicated (30 day warrantee).

Eco Tech Inc aka Chicago Bed Bug Experts
We had worked with Eco Tech before and wanted to have their help with our ant problem. Their price included a thirty day guarantee, which they honored. After the first treatment, the ants diminished. Yet, there will still quite a few ants after two weeks. With no complaint, Eco Tech came out again and did a full treatment of the home--we thought it might only need spot treatment. They are always clean, safe, and polite. Other firms we have tried are not so honorable. One wished us to agree to quarterly treatments for the home---inside and out. Yet, we felt pressured, at times, to pay for merely the inspection of the outside of the home in the midst of winter. Eco Tech has a sense of the Golden Rule and we recommend them.

Bed bugs are a very distressing problem that can happen to clean homes--which ours is.  Eco Tech has integrity and stands behind their work.  This company is unique.  Their 90 day guarantee starts after the bugs are gone.  Many other companies have a 60 day or less warranty and the clock starts from day one--the day they start treating.
Also, Eco Tech saved us hundreds of dollars on dry cleaning.   Most other firms we contacted would have us bag all our clothing and linens, then, have it dry cleaned or washed.  Next the clothing would go into new clean bags that would have to remain sealed for a certain amount of time.   One would need to open the bags for one's daily wardrobe needs.  We have a daughter with health concerns and it would have been impracticable for us to live this way.
We did see a bug after the final treatment and Echo Tech came out promptly--at no charge.  They were nice about it and did not make us feel like a burden for asking for the warranty service.  Echo Tech kept its promise.
One final thought.  Echo Tech is fairer to the customer.   When one thinks of how most other service contracts are written, the vast majority of the risk is placed upon the customer.   For example: the clock starts on day one, the warranty is for a shorter period of time, the customer must bag and clean all clothing and linens, and any mistakes on following the procedure can void the warranty.  Echo Tech, though, is willing to share the risk.  In part, I think, because they have confidence in their approach to eliminating the problem.

We've used them a couple times. Recently, we've had them come in and they set bait and come back every few months to check the bait. They do a good job. They do what they are supposed to do. They are a little pricey.

He was a very nice gentleman, I really appreciate his knowledge. It was very hard to tame this alone and I appreciate him coming out to handle this for me. He was really calm when he came out and handled the situation well. There were two visits the first visit he found the hole and put poison and sticky traps down, and the second visit he came back and asked how everything was going and just to follow up. I have done things to make sure the mice were gone, I have even put peanut butter out and haven't seen any activity so the problem seems to be fixed. I really appreciated him explaining the damage and the habits of the mice and also their navigation and how they function, I was very glad that I paid him to come out because I would have never figured this out yet alone found the hole.

John us great! When we first moved in there were lots of spiders and ants outside. We have had 2 applications inside. This was the first time we had the outside done. I already see improvements outside and can't wait to enjoy the rest of the summer.

    Chem-Wise Ecological Pest Management
Tech was not informed by their office that what I really wanted their services for was to eliminate cicada killing wasps before they become a problem this year.  Last year I had an infestation on my patio that didn[t allow me to use my yard all summer.  They also invaded the edges of my driveway from the parkway to the garage.  They are not harmful but large and annoying.  Before I even paid for the Angie's List discount, I contacted them to be sure they knew this is the service I needed, so there was a "disconnect" between the order processing person and the service technician.  The tech told me that they can only inject the ground with something once the wasps actually APPEAR, which means I have to wait now until about mid-late June,  He said there would be no additional charge if I need them back as the fee covers their services for the entire season.  So, even though I'm reviewing Chem-wise, I can't fully do so until a later date.  Despite this, they were very professional and the tech seemed very knowledgeable.

This is an overdue report, but I want to make sure the mice problem to my house is solved.   We have an issue of mice come into the house during the fall season.  I placed the glue trap in the basement ceiling and captured about 2 to 4 mice every season.  After my trap captured a family of 6 mice (mommy mice and 5 babies) one year, I finally decided to take care of the
    problem for good.
I got the name from Angie?s List and the first inspectors came to my house agree with my suspicion that although there is no visible entry point into the house, the area under my backyard patio could be the entry points for the mice.  Because the area is covered by the patio flooring, the inspectors placed plenty of baits in the area where he found mice droppings and ask me to call them back once I removed the patio flooring so they could do an inspection to the covered area.
Since my patio deck has seemed a better day, I decided to replace the deck (but keep the frame).  The inspectors came back after the deck boards got removed and gave me an estimate and an agreed date to seal the area; the inspector also place more baits after noticed that the baits placed previously got eaten by mice.   The sealing crew showed up on time, placed
cement mud and galvanized wire mesh to seal the gap under the sidings around the house.  They also discovered a half
inch hole under the chimney overhang (where previously inaccessible due to deck board cover) which they sealed it off with the wire mesh.  I filled the hole with pest proof expanding foam to prevent cold draft during the winter.
The whole sealing job took about 5 hours in one of the hottest day in late summer but the crew had good attitude and spirit.  They also show me where the hole under the chimney overhand is.  Different staff came out each time for inspection and estimate but they show up on time, very polite and professional.   The inspector answered my questions and very knowledgeable about the type of pest in my neighborhood.
It has been over one year since the seal job was completed and I have not seen any activity of mice in the basement ceiling area.  The project seems to be a success and I keep my finger cross that is the case.
Overall I am pleased with the American Pest Solution.  The only complaint I have is that I get charged the full inspection every time they came out for follow up inspection and estimate.  I think it will be more reasonable to offer discount on the follow up, especially since I hire them for the major project.  Other than that, I am happy with my choice and I?ll recommend them to my friends.

    Chem-Wise Ecological Pest Management
I purchased the special off of Angie's List - Wasp and Bee proof the house for $95.00.  I had noticed a small golf ball sized wasp nest on the deck and knew it would only grow if I left it alone.  After purchasing the product, I was contacted by Amber from Chem - Wise who was very helpful in setting up an appointment time.  The came over while we were at work, and by the time I came home it was done - no wasp nest!!  And the wasp/bee proofing is guaranteed throught he end of the year - so if the bugs come back, chem - wise will remove them again for free.  I liked this not only because of the ease and friendliness of Chem-Wise, but because they use green products that wont hurt the environment.
