    not good - the " frame ' of the trellis was in tact except for the loose boards which were to be replaced by lattice. The lattice portion that was attached to one side of the "frame" extending to the wall of the garage was then screwed to the existing post but without a small 1 X2 " board on top of the lattice to give it the appearance of a frame to match the existing framing. Upon communicating this to the contractor, it started one of 8 plus emails resulting in refusal and unprofessional language and demands that I do a review before the contractor would return to install that small board. - LESSON LEARNED: Put every slightest detail on estimate.

    We are thoroughly happy with the quality of their work and recommend ABL Group for painting and handyman work. We hired ABL Group because it was highly rated by Angie List members, has verifiable worker���s and liability insurance, an up-to-date verifiable EPA lead paint certification (checked at [*** Link removed ***] 5 year warranty (labor and materials), and a good price. We received estimates from 5 companies. Our ranch style home was built in 1962 so it was important that we hire a painting company with EPA lead paint certification. In my presence ABL tested each room to be painted for lead, thankfully none were found. We expected above average preparation of the walls and ceilings (according to another company���s estimator, our expectation was above average), repairing many wall and ceiling cracks and blemishes, patching unused picture and curtain rod holes. Howard Lipsky, the owner, came to our home to give an estimate. He was friendly, knowledgeable, listened to our requirements, and made suggestions. We gave him a printed list of our requirements. I���m a retired computer programmer and very detail oriented. His proposal was the most detailed of the 5 companies��� proposals we received. ABL willingly added additional information to the proposal to clarify and add omissions. We knew exactly what we would get when we signed the proposal. Before the project began, Howard visited again to give us a complimentary color consultation, suggesting paint types, sheens and colors for the rooms and shed. Inside the house, workers prepared the walls and ceilings, protecting the floors, furniture, cabinets with plastic tarps and cloths, removing electric outlet and light switch plates, scraping loose paint, repairing cracks and holes, caulking, applying primer over bare surfaces, cleaning areas daily. At the end of each day I checked prep work, pointing out issues that they happily corrected the next day. They applied two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal paint, allowing the first coat time to dry before painting the second coat. After painting was done, they caulked top of backsplashes in bathrooms and kitchen. A worker lightly sanded front door and applied 3 coats of Zar Ultra stain. Again, they fixed any concern I had about a specific area, e.g. applying third coat of stain to front door to achieve uniform appearance. We thought that the workers��� supervision, provided by Billy, project supervisor, and Balentine, foreman, was good, Billy checking in daily. Both men listened to and satisfied our concerns and answered our questions. The workers came early, worked hard and put in a full day of work in order to meet the schedule in the proposal. Pleased with the painting project in progress, we entered into another contract with ABL for the family room, fixing water leak damage to one wood paneled wall and adjoining ceiling. ABL took off wood paneling, removed all plaster on the wall, plastered wall, patched ceiling, applied coat of primer paint, and painted 2 Benjamin Moore coats on all walls and ceiling. In the backyard, workers worked on the shed, replacing rotten wood trim on the outer sides, replacing one door, prepping the surface, adding new wood trim boards around bottom of all sides, painting primer on new wood, applying 2 coats of Benjamin Moore paint. On the last day of the project I was impressed that Billy, the project supervisor, told us not to hesitate to contact him to fix any painting imperfections that we may discover later. A few weeks later I called Billy to send someone to take care of some issues. The touchup work was done expertly, the small repainted areas blending invisibly with the surrounding painted wall. We can attest that ABL lives up to its warranty. About 3 months after the project was over, some hairline cracks appeared. I called ABL and within days a worker came to fix the problem to our satisfaction.

    I cannot recoomend anyone more than Michael and his Top Notch team. I was selling a second home that was vacant and needed a bunch of work but I didn't want to spend a lot of money that I wouldn't get in return so I needed some professional help/advice on how best to spend my money. First and foremost, at the time I reached out to Michael, I was extremely frustrated with the communication of previous vendors. Some never got back to me or took forever to respond, and then if they did respond, the pricing was outrageous. As I was nearing the brink of my mental capacity, I unloaded all of this on Mike and he immediately responded positively and really seemed to understand what I was going through. Let me clarify now, as of this writing, I have never even seen Michael in person. Everything was over the phone or email and that's pretty much the only way I could have done it. He went to the house and assessed the situation. He came back with a detailed list of all the things that he thought needed work, then wrote a smaller list of what he thought we should focus. He asked me my comfort level on how much I can do (i.e instead of him painting the whole house, it would save us money if we did some of it if we were comfortable). It was refreshing to work with a company that obviously wasn't just there to take the money and run. The work was completed on time and above my expectations. The painting is amazing and all the other things he did were just as promised. Definitely worth at least a call with him as he's also a nice guy.

    Mario Chavez did a great job with the various tasks I needed done around the house. The main one being the replacement of my condo door's lock. It's an old intricate lock that needed some creative solutions. Not only was he upfront about everything but he worked with me to pick the best solution all the while making sure I understood what was going on. Would definitely use this place and Mario in particular for future jobs.

    He was good at what he was doing, he explained everything he was doing, and he knew what he was doing. He swept up after himself. However, he didn't use a drop-cloth to make sure not to damage flooring, so that bothered me a bit.

    Budget Right Handyman was exactly the service we were looking for. We had several small projects that needed to be done, but I had put them off a short while because I figured I had to call several different places. I was wrong! Budget Right sent out Mike, who was just fantastic, to install a new motion detector light, remove some old plumbing in a bathroom we're looking to rehab mostly ourselves, and inspected and repaired some rotting wood at the base of an otherwise sturdy shed we have. The best part was that he was able to diagnose exactly what we needed to have done, then could run out for parts, and do the work we NEEDED, rather than me guessing what had to be done. In the end they budgeted a high of 9 hours for our projects, but we only used about 7, so that is what we paid for, plus materials. They also were able to schedule him the day after I called, and I was told the hourly rate up front, so there were no surprises. I am very impressed with the service, responsiveness, help and quality of this entire experience. I will be sure to call Budget Right Handyman in the future.
