    Handyman Pros
Dan our workman was outstanding! Renovating a 33 year old bathroom can offer some challenges and Dan was incredibly good at coming up with solutions, on the fly, in a cost effective way. I'm just thrilled with the outcome and I'm already planning future projects with Handyman Pros. This was actually my second (bigger) project with the company so I'm definitely a repeat customer.

    Top Notch Remodeling Inc
I cannot recoomend anyone more than Michael and his Top Notch team. I was selling a second home that was vacant and needed a bunch of work but I didn't want to spend a lot of money that I wouldn't get in return so I needed some professional help/advice on how best to spend my money. First and foremost, at the time I reached out to Michael, I was extremely frustrated with the communication of previous vendors. Some never got back to me or took forever to respond, and then if they did respond, the pricing was outrageous. As I was nearing the brink of my mental capacity, I unloaded all of this on Mike and he immediately responded positively and really seemed to understand what I was going through. Let me clarify now, as of this writing, I have never even seen Michael in person. Everything was over the phone or email and that's pretty much the only way I could have done it. He went to the house and assessed the situation. He came back with a detailed list of all the things that he thought needed work, then wrote a smaller list of what he thought we should focus. He asked me my comfort level on how much I can do (i.e instead of him painting the whole house, it would save us money if we did some of it if we were comfortable). It was refreshing to work with a company that obviously wasn't just there to take the money and run. The work was completed on time and above my expectations. The painting is amazing and all the other things he did were just as promised. Definitely worth at least a call with him as he's also a nice guy.

Very well. Robert and Ziggy told me what time they would arrive each day and were punctual and cleaned up after themselves. The work was very professional and well done. Damian kept in contact and made sure I was satisfied. We had a small disagreement about the scope of the work to be done to restore the room. We worked out a satisfactory compromise.

    Mario and Sons Remodeling Corp
Horrible. The house is 90% updated, pictures will do better to explain. The project was contracted for an 8 week renovation starting June 12, 2017. Contract stated Mario and Sons would assist in packing and unpacking (they did not) Contract was signed on May 28, 2017, no permits were applied for. Demo took place in June, and no work was done in July... NONE. This forced us to rent an apartment for an additional month costing us an additional $3000 while waiting for permits The job remains incomplete to this day. Mario and Sons failed every permit inspection. We fired Mario and Sons in early December 2017 following multiple promises to finish. 6 months later. My mother's bedroom furniture was taken by 911 Junk. Mario and Sons refused to recognize this fact; This forced us to contact 911 Junk to find out where they deliver their furniture. We found 2 pieces at a resale shop in Chicago. Mario and Sons flooded the basement during the ceramic floor install. This ruined storage boxes and some furniture bases. Sub-contractors didn't get along with Mario and Sons and did not follow through on fixes we requested (see pictures) Mario and Sons would have subs arrive without bringing materials. Materials would arrive late in the evening, and dropped in the middle of the hallways after my 93-year-old mother moved back in. Mario and Sons use ProSource of Elk Grove. Never ever hire anyone that uses THAT ProSource.. Demand they use the Chicago location. Elk Grove lost all of our choices; screwed up the re-order, didn't reorder all the items needed. Never called to double check, AND.. AND... delivered kitchen cabinets via truck without checking if anyone was onsite to unload the truck. We had to unload the truck (the client). Their designer blamed an outdated computer system for ordering the wrong size cabinets in the wrong configurations. REALLY, REALLY AWFUL. Is that enough? There is so much more. About the pictures, I could only add 10, and I have hundreds. First picture is June. All the rest begin in August. New details: The undermount kitchen sink and dishwasher were both improperly installed.

Outstanding! Wally and his co-worker arrived daily at 8:00 in the morning, and often worked until 6:00 in the evening. They were courteous, responsive, answered all of my questions, and did a fantastic job! They even came in for half a day on Saturday to ensure the work would be finished by the time the carpet installers arrived. The finished results are just beautiful, and they cleaned up everything before they left, including taking the garbage with them! We used Wally previously for the living/dining room, and were very happy he was still around. Without question, we would use Impress Painting again!

    Lupfer Builders
He gave me an estimate of $1200 to remove and put the wall back up. He wanted me to leave the wall down for a week, that was kinda creepy to me. He could only give me the estimate to removed and put the wall back up. He could not tell me what else might need done, like plumbing or something. He said he didn't hear the noise I was hearing. It was like he was in a hurry. I guess he came on a lunch break or something. I didn't get to ask him questions. I can't fault him. He can't give an estimate on things he can't see behind the wall. But when I expected someone that was in construction to have an idea of what would be behind that wall.  He responded right away, I was hopeful that he could do the job. He responded but the follow through with the estimate was kinda blank.

    4Ever Remodeling
I received several quotes from other contractors but decided to hire Damien because of the excellent reviews he received and his ability to work within my budget. The contract was very detailed spelling out everything 4Ever Remodeling was responsible for completing. Damien and his crew were very professional and dependable; always showing up on the days they said they would be working. They cleaned up after themselves hauling away all the construction debris every night. They finished the project on the date specified. I am thrilled with the quality work performed by Damiens crew. I will definitely recommend 4Ever Remodeling to my family and friends.

    1. Appointment was set in January saying it might change by 1 or 2 days but they did not come for whole week. Then I was traveling so couldn't schedule. 2. Cutting drywall manually instead of using electric reciprocating saw. What is the purpose of hiring drywall specialist? 3. 30 min break for 2-people (1 Hr) was used from purchased time. This is not listed in his offer. 4. Bathroom light fixture is too low and mirror will not fit below that. Not professional work. 5. I asked not to clean at the end of 1st day so next day they can just continue but they continue to use hours purchased. 6. Offer says 1 person but on phone and Angie's List message says they do not offer that. 7. Left my project unfinished and took new project without contacting me. 8. Unused hours will be lost. 9. I had 4x8 FT drywall and told them to cut exact ceiling but they did small pieces. Now ceiling looks uneven. I purchased 20 Hrs of drywall work which offer says can be only used for business hours. Even with 2 people 8 hours it will take more than 1 day business day for sure. I purchased offer for drywall specialist not painters. Now I am without light in the kitchen and bathroom. :(

    DESIGNfirst Builders LLC
We highly recommend Design First. We needed our master bath torn out and redone due to water seepage behind the wall. We added some insulation as long as walls were open and chose to move the toilet and that involved some work with water lines and joists. We chose Design First because their price was competitive and they had positive reviews from others. This was a big investment for us, so we wanted it done right with experienced craftsmen and permits. We also liked the fact that they are very clear and transparent, listing all of the charges in this process upfront so you know what you are paying for before you agree to anything. They were very flexible with us supplying our own purchases and we made changes as needed along the way. The project manager, Derek, was terrific. He was hands-on as a supervisor and really quick to answer any questions we had. He got back to us within hours - sometimes minutes- and took care of any concerns. One example: after the shower was installed we did not like the shiny look of the silicone sealant applied at the base. The next day, they came out, removed it all by hand at no charge to us. The crew that worked in our home, headed by Damien, was skilled, cheerful and very efficient. They got our bathroom done ahead of schedule. We are very pleased with it, and would recommend Design First without reservation.

Dave and Phil did a great job with the project. They had to do additional framing due to poor construction from a previous job. They worked hard to keep on schedule and informed us of every issue that would change the costs. We a leak was discovered after shower doors where installed, D&D come out many times to correct the problem. They found the problem that the installer couldn't and corrected it. Great guys, great team, great attitudes.
