I can't compare price. I would rather pay to have him do it than to worry about getting $50 cheaper someplace else. We use him all of the time. We have been using him for 20 years. It was a father/son business and the father retired, so the son continues the business.

    Odisho's Auto Clinic
Very Honest, Very Fair. I'm a woman, and I always feel like mechanics see me coming and take me for a fool. I knew my car needed a catalytic converter in order to pass the emissions test, so I shopped around. Out of the 6-7 mechanics I called and/or saw, this guy was the most honest and fair, in his pricing, in how he treated me, and in showing me all the other things that my car needed to pass. He explained to me why these other things needed to be fixed in order for me to pass the test. He guaranteed his work, and said if I have any issues to come back to him. Really I felt I could trust him, and that is not something that I do easily. I've been taken for a ride in the past by mechanics, but this guy really was genuine, honest, hard working, and treated me nicely. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who needs a mechanic!

The work was done within timeframe given. The car runs fine. They washed outside of car for free. Although I lived 2.5 miles beyond maximum shuttle distance from dealer, they drove me home and picked me up after van was ready, saving me cost of cab rides and waiting at dealer for work to be done.

They left the radiator transmission fluid low, luckily I just had my transmission rebuilt so I was vigilant and took it to the place that rebuilt my transmission and they filled it to the proper level.

The service booklets and it came with in like a leather cover well right after I moved in I got a puppy she just got a hold of the booklet and destroy the cover so i ask if they had another cover I said the books are fine you have an extra cover lying around and the guy, they took me to the parts department were they sell parts and the guy said  we don't sell it separate we don't have any separate they come as part of the kit let me look around I will see if I can find one and when I left, I think they sell these books like for about thirty dollars he gave me a whole new set of book with it all wrapped in plastic he said just take this we couldn't find any old covers and just gave it to me.

I'm a little late in submitting this review, but Wally's CarStar in Des Plaines did a fabulous job with my repair.  Insurance from the person who backed into me covered $1826 of this repair.  While the car was in the shop, I decided to also have minor bumper damage from my own scrapings repaired. That cost me $1350.  The shop dealt with the insurance adjuster; all I did was drop off the car and pick it up.  Their competence, friendliness and professionalism made this experience smooth and easy.  I hope I don't need their services again, but if I do, there is no where else I would take my vehicle!

    Quality Auto Reconditioning, Inc.
    From my Yelp review--
So I just spent $4500 to get a lot of work done here.
    1) Repair a big tear in my driver's seat - this I give 5 stars - looks great.
    2) Recondition my aluminum rims - the rims themselves I give a 5 they look great;
HOWEVER, I noticed a lug nut missing, and was told it broke when they were removing it.
QAR then tells me that I "can buy them easily, they come in a packs of 4 or 5"
Anyways after I took delivery it turns out there were TWO lug nuts missing,
so now I'm out $16 for the replacements from the dealer. Customer Service - 0 stars
    3) Extensive rust repairs including two doors being replaced -
The finished product not counting the difficulties I had probably 4 stars,
but the details are why I will never bring another car here.
--Multiple delays - told several times my car would be ready in a couple days, by the end of the week, and even the final time we shook hands on it being ready for a Friday - picked it up the following Thursday while they were scrambling to finish putting it back together. Very, very annoying - just be honest with people and tell them when it will be done.
--So one of my headlights had to be removed for the work and when it was replaced
one of the three plastic mounting brackets was broken - they just put it back together
like nothing happened - and my headlight shakes while driving - very annoying -
when I confronted them about it - they first wanted to attempt some sort of 'fix' -
I told them no - the only way to correct the problem is to get a whole new headlight
assembly - which he finally was willing to do - but I'm not willing to let him touch my
car again - so I'll take a pass and just warn anyone who reads this to pay very close
attention to what your car looks like before and after any work done here.
--The hood support bar was not returned to its clip and found banging around in engine.
--Leftover parts were left in the driver's door map pocket
--Used paint masking tape left inside the car.
--and of course the missing lug nuts mentioned above.
I wanted to give this place a better review, but I'm just too frustrated by the overall
experience - Nice guys, but poor scheduling and a lack of responsibility for their mistakes
equals a poor rating from me.

GOLF MILL FORD "Number One Ford Dealer "Illinois"
I was recently sent a promotion in the mail by Golf Mill Ford. I called ahead to verify the promotion and was told it was valid and I needed to come in to discuss it. When I came in I was told the promotion was not what it seemed - a classic bait and switch (which I'd note the staff member I called explicitly said "This IS NOT a bait and switch!").
When I asked to speak to a manager one came over and promptly walked away when he realized I was unhappy. A second "manager" came over and started to insult my intelligence telling me I can't read well, telling me I'm wrong and implying I'm stupid, and eventually also walked away when I started to show I was upset. Not only was I treated poorly, but I also saw a woman asking about the promotion who was also insulted and laughed at by staff. After waiting for a while with nobody who was willing to talk to me aside from a staff member who said "I'm sorry I don't know" I left the store feeling walked all over and stupid.
This has to be one of the most ridiculous customer service experiences I've had in my life. I was insulted and straight out lied to. I am a die hard Ford owner and lover, but would I recommend this place to others? Not even my worst enemy.
Do yourself a favor and don't promote shameful business ethics and tactics like this. They may have a large inventory but I strongly suggest you shop elsewhere. My next Ford purchases will be from other dealerships.

not only gave me a ride home, but picked me up when the job was done.  Allowed me to inspect the parts removed!
Back in Chicagoland, this job would have cost me close to double the $400+ here. . .wonderful people, wonderful service and just a wonderful experience.  My car will go back to them soon to get my air conditioning checkedffixed.
This will be MY repair shop for life!!

I went to Midas on Oakton in Des Plaines to have my oil changed and tires rotated.  There was a coupon in a local advertisement, which prompted me to use them.  The price quoted was quite a bit higher than the coupon price, but it was explained to me that was because the ad was for regular oil and my engine called for synthetic.  OK, not a problem.  They completed the work.  Fast forward several days and I see oil pooled on my garage floor.  This vehicle has 20,000 miles on it and has never had a problem of any kind.  I cleaned up the oil and decided to take it back to Midas in the morning.  The next morning there was quite a bit more oil on the garage floor.  I called Midas and they said they would see me right away.  I took the car over and left it with them.  Went back in half an hour and they were just finishing up.  I asked what the issue was, and they said they left some plastic wrap on the oil filter and so it was not seated properly.  They said they replaced the filter and it was not leaking now.  I asked the manager if they topped off the oil, and he said yes.  But when I got the key from the guy who actually changed the oil, I asked him if he topped it off, and he said no - that it wasn't down that much.  In addition, I realized that when they rotated my tires they did not reset the tire pressure switch and now the wrong tires are reflected in my tire pressure monitor.  I have had better experiences elsewhere, and do not plan to use Midas again.  Although the manager was polite, I gave a poor rating for professionalism because of making the error in the first place, and then telling me they added oil when they did not.
