    Four Seasons Plumbing & Sewer
They quoted $774.00 for one pump installed or $1,548.00 for two pumps. That's like inviting a thief in your home; over priced and expensive. If two pumps then a discount would be done, they said. That's unreasonable and didn't like this negotiation that started. Two sump pumps was then discounted to $1,200, which is high. They said that is with all the types of discounts that could be possible and included everything; cleaning out the wells (not really needed much cleaning), quiet check valves, replacing a part of the PVC pipes coming out of the pumps, and cleaning up which means they would take the debris and pumps and get rid of them; the company recycles the pumps what was said to me, but the installer said he didn't know what they did with the old parts. I recycle all type of metal to these metal places that are all over the place, so I had him put the pumps in the garage instead of taking them. They are including a charge of getting rid of metal pumps and will get money back. Why should they get the money? There are my pumps. Why should I pay them to get money for the metal? People need to realize how easy it is to recycle metals and get money back. It doesn't take much effort to do that. One good thing is that the installer/plumber was nice about putting the pumps in the garage for me to recycle. So, I offered $1,000 for two pumps installed, and the manager on the phone came back with, "I'll meet you in the middle - $1,100. I initially said no, but have not much time to deal with all of this, so I went ahead with the deal knowing that it was overpriced. After checking Angies List for the first time and found out that I could get it for $450 for one pump and maybe double or a bit less for two pumps. I also got a quote from another place on Angie's List and they quoted $750.00 for two pumps. What a difference in price! Next time, I will check Angie's List first and get more quotes. I lost $350.00 by not doing more research.

    Reliable Basement Services LLC
The team showed up at 8am on time and immediately got to work. They were very friendly and did not hesitate to ask questions regarding an old sprinkler system in the yard. They had to remove part of a hedge, but only removed the minimum amount needed to bury the drain pipe. The window well replacement is beautiful. They even replaced the drain at the bottom without asking. Overall, Scott and his team did a phenomenal job. I would totally hire them again.

Szabo's Rooter Man Plumbing & Drain Service
Our home warranty company, American Home Shield, sent Szabo's out to replace our sump pump. They did so in a timely manner and the job was professional. A few days later, the pipe connecting the sump came apart and begain spraying water all over the basement. We had to get another company to fix it. A few more days later, the sump stopped operating correctly. When I called Szabo's to come out and take a look, they wanted to charge $90 just for the visit. Apparently (nowhere in writing) if they were booked via a warranty service, we have to pay full price for a follow-up. This business practice is questionable. They show up and do a mediocre job and the fix breaks. Then they charge again to double check their work. The "new" sump they left was actually 4 years old according to the manual. So the warranty was expired. Had they come out to fix their own work, it'd be worth 5 stars. Had they replaced the pump with a new one, it'd be worth 5 stars.

    Paragon Mechanical, Inc.
Elliott arrived as scheduled to assess the problems with our Bosch tankless water heater. He explained to us clearly what was wrong with our water heater and we determined it would be better to replace the water heater than to repair it. I was then contacted by Kevin Polka who explained the various options available to replace the water heater. Kevin answered all of my numerous questions and sent me a clear proposal after we chose to replace our Bosch tankless water heater with two Noritz tankless water heaters. Then, Don and Doug arrived yesterday as scheduled to complete the work. The water heaters and piping were installed without a problem. They look great and our basement was left cleaner than before they started the work. The water heaters are working great and for the first time in a long time I was able to shower without being burned or freezing!!! I was extremely impressed by all the Paragon team and am looking forward to hiring them for the maintenance of the water heaters. The whole contract and installation process went without a problem, unlike the installation of our original Bosch tankless water heater year ago.

    The Scottish Plumber
Matt was personable, good communicator, respectful, cleaned up after himself and, best of all, fixed the problem and showed me how to prevent it recurring. One year guarantee on work. Would definitely use again.

    Cascade Plumbing & Sewer
Badly, Tried innumerable times to set up an appointment, they never responded. Tried for about a month Money paid, no service, received refund from Angie's List. Maybe this is typical of Angie's List. Service Providers get overwhelmed with orders and they can't keep up. Don't know for sure.

Greg Cutler checked in frequently. Crew leader Vinnie and Clint were absolutely fabulous. They were prompt, professional, courteous, and very clean. Both were very helpful with ideas. They were meticulous in their work. Each day when they left the area was swept and vacuumed. There were a couple small delays the major one was our floor was uneven and needed to be leveled out with self leveling concrete. Delaying progress by a few days. Tiling the entire area at once impossible due to being unable to walk on immediately. We where tiling at all 3 of our exits. All not their fault. The wrong range hood size was delivered and replaced quickly. Things went very smoothly for the most part.

    FIRST CHICAGO REMODELING
Everything went perfect! Marian and his crew Chris and Robert worked very hard to accomplish what we wanted done. They were such a pleasure to work with that we felt like we lost part of the family when they were done. I have to mention that I do a lot of homework before hiring anyone for our projects. I had 7 quotes for this project. Marian did not come in as the lowest but his contract was all inclusive. He itemized everything and stuck to our contract.

It went very well, Joe and Matt were able to finish these projects in the time-frame we needed before we moved in and so we could have operating bathrooms. We will be hiring them again for our next project in the kitchen and building out a porch off kitchen..
