  • My husband and I have used European Class Limo 4 times, and have recommended their services to many local people. This 4th time we booked them however, I had the worst experience I have ever had as a customer. For a Christmas gift, my husband bought tickets to a Blackhawks game and booked ECL's stretch limo to take him and I, our son, my brother, father in law, and mother in law back and forth to the game. On Wednesday 2/21, at 10pm when Tom with ECL was supposed to pick us up to go home, he instead called and said his limo is broke down, he's taking it to the mechanic, and we need to find a ride home. He suggested an Uber. I asked him to PLEASE figure us out a way home. He said he would call his contacts and let us know as soon as possible. The game ended around 10:30, and we still hadn't heard back from Tom. I called, he said he was still calling around. We waited for another 15-20 mins or so. In the meantime we checked out Uber pricing...it was surge pricing at the time so it was $411 for the 55ish miles we had to travel south from Chicago (also higher pricing bc the size of our group, we needed a bigger vehicle). We had nowhere to go to wait and figure this out because we didn't bring coats since we knew we would be dropped off and picked up at the United Center via a limo. Fortunately, I explained this scenario to the UC Security and they let us wait inside the building. After no response from Tom, I decided to call Maria, the "owner" of the company. She told me it's not their problem, this stuff happens, they did their part and got us there, get an Uber, figure it out. I told Maria they got us there and they cannot strand us in Chicago, we had our 8 year old with us, no coats, etc., and they need to get this figured out for us. She said they didn't need to do anything for us. She didn't believe the pricing I told her that the Uber ride would cost. I asked her to pay for it. She asked me where anything said she had to do anything for us to help. She told me to call Tom and hung up on me. I called Tom back, and he said he was working "100 miles a minute" trying to get us a ride and he will call us right back. Then Tom hung up on me. Tom never called us back. We sat around and waited for Uber's surge pricing to go down, and luckily found someone willing to drive from the city 55 miles south at 11pm on a Wednesday night. Tom still never called us back. The next day, I tried to call Tom to ask when he would return my brother's coat since he told us we could leave our belongings in his limo. I was blocked from his phone. I called from my house phone, and he answered. He told me he'd bring the coat by in the afternoon. He said they'd offer us a free ride for our hassle. I told him I plan to never use their services again, and said I'd rather have a refund for the ride we paid for already, because of being so disappointed in their service (and we gave him a 20% tip!). He said 'yeah yeah whatever you want, that's fine.' Well he didn't get to my house until after 8pm, and that was after another phone call and text. We received no money back, Tom didn't even mention it, a quick apology and left. I am so EXTREMELY disappointed in European Class Limo's service. We used them on our wedding day, a couple days later for our honeymoon, a trip we took a year later, and I have recommended them to many many local people, and have never been so let down by a company I trusted. Not only that, but this whole experience was supposed to be a thoughtful Christmas gift from my husband, and he felt terrible about it all like it was his fault we were in that situation. I never once cussed at Tom or Maria. I let them know how upset I was that they seemed perfectly fine leaving us stranded in the city at a late hour, with an 8 year old with no coat and potentially nowhere to go if I hadn't talked to Security. I let them know I was a repeat customer and that I give them constant referrals, and they didn't care or do anything more to help us out. Like I said, I've never been more disappointed as a customer. Please don't use this company until they learn how to treat customers and problem solve. I'm embarrassed for them that they think it's ok to treat people the way they treated my family and I.
