  • Stop looking around, just call Hobson and work with their team. I called and was able to get assistance the same day. Brett was very knowledgeable and really knows his stuff. He was able to explain the process to me and give me recommendations. Trust me stop your wasting your time by looking around, make it easy on yourself and call Hobson. My husband and I are newer home owners and have worked with many contractors and professionals through our renovations and the service by Hobson blew me away. HIGHLY recommend contacting them for your plumbing and heating needs!

  • I noticed that the furnace for the second floor of the house had died. I called Lifeline based on the other excellent reviews I had seen on Angie's List. I called on March 7 and was able to set up an appointment for an inspection for the same day. The technician, Joe, was punctual and polite. One thing I immediately noticed is that before entering the house, he put plastic booties on over his shoes, which I really appreciated. Joe took about 1 hour to look everything over. He called me up and showed me exactly what was wrong with the system (actually multiple things were wrong). There was water/condensate rather copiously leaking from the secondary heat exchanger. There was also rather extensive corrosion of both the primary heat exchanger and the secondary heat exchanger.  This was causing the gas flame to not be drawn in to the primary heat exchanger as well as it should have been. This in turn was causing overheating of the frame of the furnace. He actually showed me the corrosion with this cool flexible scope. He also showed me the abnormality with the flames as well as the water that was rather obviously leaking. Since the system was 23 years old (was the original system that had been installed when the house was built) and given what was wrong with the system, he suggested just changing the entire system. He did not try to up-sell me on anything. I agreed with him. He didn't pressure me. He answered all of my questions clearly and thoroughly (and I had a lot of questions). He also did not try to sell me a system that was too large or overpowered for the space. He also gave me several options in terms of the level of efficiency of both the AC and the furnace. He was honest about what he felt was worth paying for and what was not worth paying for. I settled on a 16 SEER 4 ton AC and a 95% efficient dual stage 100,000 BTU furnace. The central humidifier was also replaced. I thought that I would have to wait a while for the installation, but surprisingly he said they would be able to come the next day to do the installation. We firmed up the appointment for the installation. He explained that they would need a 30% deposit and that the remaining 70% would be due at the time of completion of the installation.
The installers arrived the next day at 10 AM. The installers names were Brandon and Anthony. They were very polite and introduced themselves. They also put plastic booties on their shoes before coming into the house. They took them off when they exited the house and put them back on when they entered the house. They must have gone in and out of the house about a hundred times and they did it every time. They laid out tarps along the entire path that they would be using in the house. They were exceedingly careful when moving things in and out. They cleaned up after themselves when they left. Everything was immaculate when they were done; there was not a spot on the carpet, a scratch on the hardwood, nor a ding on any wall. They also hauled away all of the garbage (including the old furnace, AC, and humidifier). They took about 10 hours to do the job. Brandon explained to me that things were taking longer because the furnace was located in a closet. This meant that there was only enough room for one person to be working at a time in the cramped space. Brandon gave me multiple updates throughout the day. He showed me the final product. He answered all my questions politely and throughly. He was also training Anthony and I could hear that he was being polite and courteous with him as well. I was very impressed.
I would definitely call Lifeline again for any HVAC issues.

  • Reliable Basement Services did a FANTASTIC job. Dominick came out and bid the work. He accurately figured out what the problem was and provided a quote. I was very impressed with him and the quote was even a little lower than I had feared it would be! A 5 man team showed up on time and they were finished in one day. They were AWESOME. They were courteous, and took pride in their work. They had to dig up my yard pretty extensively, but by the time they were done - you could hardly tell they'd been there. I waited to write this review until we'd had some rain so I could be sure my problems were fixed - and I'm happy to report that they are! My sump pumps go off every now and then - as they should. Even after heavy rains. I've been trying to fix this problem for over 8 months. Reliable Basement Services was the first company to accurately diagnose the problem, and successfully fix it. I will use Reliable Basement Services for any future basement or drainage work - and recommend them highly!

  • RJ Graham Plumbing was an impressive company to work with.  I had an appointment with them for next week, but my leaky sump pump got worse yesterday.  I came home from work to a lot of water in the basement.  I called to see if they could come out the next day instead of the following week.  They returned my call, which was after normal business hours, almost immediately . They were able to schedule a plumber to come out with extremely short notice today (the day after I called, a week ahead of the original appointment).   I was so impressed right off the bat with this excellent customer service!  Then, today the plumber came, he was punctual, professional, courteous, answered all of my questions, and fixed the sump pump quickly!  The price was very reasonable, and we are so grateful that they were able to fix our sump pump.  Thank you RJ Graham Plumbing!  Will call you for all of our future plumbing needs!

  • Then the installation failed completely. Very fortunately, I was nearby at the time and immediately heard the loud sound of water from the cold-water pipe blasting against the furnace and nearby duct work. The furnace room was engulfed in deflected spray going in all directions. I shut off the main water valve for the house and was able to prevent any serious long-term damage. I am usually not near the furnace room, so it was dumb luck that the problem did not go undetected for many hours and cause serious damage (not to mention an inflated water bill).||I arranged with another plumber (highly rated on Angie's List) to fix the problem. He said that the AVD plumber had used a ball valve whose fittings were not sized to fit the tubing going to the humidifier and had attempted to use a t-fitting as an adapter by closing off one end of the "t." Our problem was caused by the failure of that closed-off end. The new plumber fixed the problem by installing a ball-valve with properly sized fittings, which he had on his truck.||During service calls for us, the AVD plumber has always made a trip to purchase needed supplies after assessing the work we wanted done. He seems to carry little inventory on his truck. I do not know why he could not purchase a ball valve with fittings properly sized for our needs.

  • Hannah's repaired the faulty work that the previous plumber had done. They took their time and made the corrections and explained to me what had happened. They did a competent job and gave me 10% off the original price for being a member of Angie's List. Everything worked out smoothly.

  • Called and described my problem: no hot water due to circulator pump not functioning. Gave them the part number on the pump.  Called back 2 hours later after locating the pump and gave me the price.  Asked me to take a picture of the pump to confirm the details.  They then went to get the pump and arrived later the same day and installed the new pump.  Excellent service and installation.

  • After he inspected it he said you are right, your sump pump is at the end of its life. I would have been suspicious if I had not got him from Angies List, and not suspected that in the first place. He came prepared to sell me a new pump with a little presentation and said they offered three different kinds of pumps, so I picked the middle one. He put it in and everything was fine. A minor annoyance was that they never did credit me for the inspection and maintenance of the old pump. They just took it away. But they were very good and they were very nice about it. They came right away, I didn't have any trouble. Shortly after I've got the Big Deal I called them and we made an arrangement within a couple of weeks. They came out and started the whole thing. The price was what I had in mind what the cost of pumps were. I researched it before I talked to him. They gave me this warrantee and I called them back a little after the year was up and it was a small problem. They take a look and there was no charge. I called them a second time because I was having some different problems and then over the phone he was explaining to me what I was actually hearing and it made perfect sense to me, and it had nothing to do with the sump pump. It was actually the furnace. They were very good about it. They didn't give me any arguments, they came right out and they checked it over. They didn't charge me anything. They were very responsive. I certainly would call them back if I had a sump pump issue. I would recommend them to somebody who has a sump pump problem. That is the kind of person I want to come to my house.

  • I feel once he heard that I was getting others estimate, he was not too thrilled and started to sounded a big uncertain about coming out althrough we set a date and time ( June 17, 2013 ) on phone.  On day of appointment, he did just no show (and no call). When I called, was told he was too busy, I should just find another contractor to look into my situation.  I would not have minded if he just flat out told me on the initial appointment phone call that he was too busy. To just did a not show is not acceptable. I am baffled at how he got so many A ratings. It certainly is no an 'A' in my book.

  • The work went exactly as it was described to me by the owner, Vince Pane. The crew was at my home when they were scheduled to be. They were professional and very good about completing their work while keeping the work area clean. The crew foreman/manager, Ernesto was very good at explaining exactly what they were going to be doing and approximately how long it would take. Everything went outstanding. I will definitely be recommending them to everyone I know who is looking for a company that provides services like this.
