What Are the Benefits of Buying an Electric Car?

Car Dealership reviews in Champaign

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • I went to this dealer with the exact car picked out that I wanted to buy, which I found online. The car was there as advertised, plus it was at an even better price due to a holiday sale. I generally try to find the most positive things to say about people, and I thought the salesman was pretty good. Not flashy, not slick, but nice. But both he and the finance person got some basic numbers wrong on my paperwork, twice. Maybe it was an honest mistake, but I didn't get the feeling that it was completely an accident. Of course they made it sound like it was. Either way, I did find the finance person rude, not only to me but to the salesman as well. I'm glad the salesman got the benefit of sale from me, but if you use this dealer please pay close attention to the numbers, especially when you're in the finance office.

  • I have been taking my Honda here for a few years, since I have two hondas. Let's see. For regular maintenance, they are way overpriced and I don't believe their work is any better than your average neighborhood mechanic, but costs way more. But when there is a real fix required (engine, transmission), I only trust these guys to correctly perform the fix on my Hondas.
The new management is less customer friendly in my opinion and more in the market to make money. Well, at least the quality of their service is still great, but the customer service has gone down a bit in my opinion compared to the previous team. Overall, I only take my cars here when I absolutely have to, but at those times there's no replacement for the official dealership.

  • As good as the leading manufactures of handicap-converted vans build them, sometimes the automated systems in them break down.  I drive a Toyota Sienna van from my wheelchair and I rely on United Access of Champaign to keep me rolling.
This past Summer I had an important meeting across town in 30 minutes.  I gab the keys and head for my van.  I hit the remote on
the keychain.  The side door on my 2006 Toyota Sienna slides open and the ramp unfolds.  I roll up the ramp and behind the wheel.  I start the engine and press the button to fold up the ramp and close the side door ... but
nothing happens.  I tried it again and then again but still nothing.  I called Gary at United Access.
In a matter of 20 minutes Gary shows up at my home and troubleshoots the problem.  It was a stuck relay switch.  I ask how much I owe him for coming out and he waves me off.  I?m a regular customer and he knows I will be back for other repairs and maybe
someday a new van.  I probably will.
United Access of Champaign is a sales and service dealer of handicap converted vans and equipment for people with disabilities. Gary Wilson is the General Manager. Gary along with his service technician, Derek, are experts when it comes to vans equipped for drivers with physical disabilities.  I have lived in several different cities and worked with other businesses like United Access but this one stands head and shoulders above the others.

  • We started our journey looking for a car here.  They were great, except for price.  In terms of our treatment, they were fantastic.  We got to test drive multiple cars, they worked so hard to get us a price that would work for us.  They were always professional and respectful, even though I'm a graduate student, I was treated with respect.  Unfortunately, their prices on the used cars were just outside of our range, so we couldn't buy a car there.  But I would recommend them simply because if you go in knowing what you want and want to spend, they will work very hard to try to make that happen.

  • I bought my Honda Fit here when the sales department at Twin City Honda in Champaign, IL treated me like completed s**t for being a graduate student.  They got me my car within an hour and half at the monthly price I wanted.  They were so friendly and helpful; I am so glad I bought my car here after being treated so poorly at Twin City.
This past year I also had them do an oil change (I had a coupon); they were fantastic!  So I schedule an appointment online and show up a little early, intending to wait for the car, and decide to add a quick car wash.  They got my oil and filter changed and the car washed (which I didn't schedule!) in 23 minutes.  Best service ever!  I highly recommend these guys for sales or service (I have 5 more oil change coupons from them from buying my car there; I wouldn't go anywhere else, even if it is a 45 minute drive from Champaign).

  • I searched for a low mileage Ford in several databases, and the closest was 45 miles away. We bought one there, used, and 'as is' but were assured the auto was in great shape having just had $1,300 in repairs and a 140 point quality inspection. When we got to the dealership the car was running. Since it wasn't that cold I actually went out to the car and turned it off while we signed papers. I now believe they were afraid to try to remove the keys from the ignition because the gear position switch is faulty making the keys difficult to remove. I am still going around trying to get this fixed to no avail.

  • When I bought the truck, they helped me get a warranty package that fit my needs and my budget. I've had to go back twice for repairs but it's never anything major, just little things that come with owning and maintaining a vehicle. I credit them for getting me in and out quickly and treating me good no matter the price of the bill or the extensiveness of the repair. They have a good team, both on the sales floor and in the service area. I will definitely continue to take my vehicle back to Rick Ridings...

  • Even though my car is out of warranty I take it to them because I know they will catch anything that could be wrong. I don't think one of the quick lube places would have caught the axle problem. I trust them and when they tell me something is wrong, I know it is wrong. When I bought the car, they let me do an overnight test drive. I liked it so I bought it. When they did the axle work I took it in on a Friday and had to have it back by Monday and they had it done. I will absolutely use them in the future.

  • We purchased a vehicle from this company sold to us by Marty. He refused to negotiate on the price because he said that a lot of other people wanted it and he said the car was in great shape. We knew of a problem with the car and he promised and even wrote on the bill of sale that he would fix the problem. He told us that is the issue with the car was fixed and we drove it home. After about 5 minutes the problem came back and we called him...suddenly his voice tone and demeanor changed, he wasn't the nice-happy-to-talk-with-you guy. He told us to bring it back and we did for a 5 day period. He said that he took it to the dealership to "get it done right" he told us it only cost him $35 to have it fixed and he was going to cover the bill. We brought it home again and same problem came back within 24 hour. We called him and he said to bring it again. He told us a day later it was ready to be picked up and before we could get it out of the parking lot it was back. He told us to leave it with them AGAIN! At this point we called the dealership to ask what they did to the car and if there is anything else to be done....they told us the they never saw the car...we also spoke to the service manager who stated again the car was never there. We asked Marty about this and he started yelling and getting up in our face saying "are you accusing me of lying" he told us to get off his lot. I tried to talk to him calmly over the phone and he just wanted to go over and over the fact that he never lied to us....yet I don't know what the dealer would have to gain by lying to us. He was completely unreasonable told me he had someone else on the phone and couldn't talk to me...I said the other person is going to have to wait as I was on the phone with him first and I want to know how he is going to take care of the problem. He kept trying to turn the conversation around on me as if I was being unreasonable and he hung up on me. At this point we just decided to wash our hands of this guy..I'm not going to pursue it as he is untruthful and unreasonable and there won't be any way to come to a solution. I'm just going to take care of this myself and not sue him (although I should) and tell everyone I know about my experience so they don't make the same mistake.

  • They are thorough and honest. Their prices are reasonable (not the lowest, but lower than average). They only do what needs tobe done, which makes the trip from Champaign worthwhile.
