Gutter Repair reviews in Cary

    Sterling Exteriors Inc
Workmen arrived on a super windy day in November and starting ripping off the roof. Roofing paper went flying everywhere in the neighborhood as they missed the receptacle on the driveway. They left many nails in the grass and dirt. Then they got to the siding. They did an good job but I have had them back here 3-5 times to fix workmanship issues. Re: Siding that comes loose and falls; wavy appearance to some siding after install. Stuff that just shouldn't happen. Sterling did several other houses on my block that year and no issues that I could see. It all goes down to the care the workmen take. It was in the late fall, the weather was getting colder and it got darker earlier. They were trying to finish some areas after darkness fell. If they took time, likely few issues. They even lost the decorative screws for my stoop coach light and reattached with a wood screw (didn't inform me either). The quality would be a solid B if I have not had to have them out here so many times (last one was August 16). Also I had to buy a horizontal magnet on wheels to pick up the screws (the ones that were magnetic). I have a box full of them. The others I had to find with a rake (still finding them). No issues getting them out here. The finishing on a job is as important as the appearance. Things need to be tight and not fall off when there is a 40mph wind. They were professional. Price is left blank because of the insurance claim I am giving a C for quality. Too many necessary repair visits due to a crew in a rush. I had aluminum siding for 12 years and only had on incident in that time

It took some time for us to coordinate our schedules but the job got done. I am happy with the work; chimney no longer leaks and missing shingles were replaced. The roofer was professional and took the time to show me what repairs he had made. It rained during the repair and I was able to see the chimney was no longer leaking.

I could not do second story of my double gable roof home.  They arrived on time, got right to work.  Leaned out all of the gutters and downspouts, my second story had not been cleaned out in years and was draining slow.  Once done cleaning out gutters, brought up hose and flushed all the gutters and downspouts to make sure all was clean and flowing.  Found a tennis ball in upper gutter that was right over the inlet to one of the upper downspouts. My son loves hitting the tennis balls over the house for the dog to chase, so that has now been ended. Service listed $79 dollar sale as including three downspouts, sis all seven on mine for no additional fee. Great work.

    Custom Roofing Contracting Ltd
Upon approval from the insurance company's claim adjuster, the company's job foreman, Shane, submitted the required information to the village for issue of the building permit.  Upon receipt, they delivered materials and began the job within 2 days.  The company then required 1/3 down payment upon delivery of the materials.  (they were very careful of that process, and delivery of the weight, so not to damage the driveway.)

The existing roof was removed the first day, but then the roof had to be covered because of rainstorms.  Work resumed on a timely basis after the rains.  There was some minor delay in waiting for delivery of the skylights.  But when work began immediately on receiving them, while the crew was still finishing the remaining roofing.

Some minor damage occurred installing the skylights to the interior drywall.  This was corrected within a couple of days by a carpenter, with whom they contracted, who did an excellent job for them and for us.  His work included some drywall repair,  painting and trim installation.

The above 'B' rating on punctuality was because of the man who did the chimney flashing.  It was not completed until July 20.  I'm not sure why he was working his own schedule and not that of the general crew for the job, a situation which should have been corrected.  Therefore the job was not formally completed until July 20.

The general installation crew had their own "foreman", who worked along side them.  All seemed to work together, were in good spirits, and were efficient in their work.

The job foreman, Shane, was a delight to work with, dependable, and very responsive to our questions with nearly immediate follow-up with answers and paperwork, even though he has been with the company only a few months.

The only minor downside was I had to keep track of some of the details from the contract to be sure all were completed thoroughly, as cost factors changed, along with changes made in the job.

Over all, I would hire them again, and highly recommend them.

When they were installing the gutters they leveled them constantly and made sure the pitch was correct..  The gutters work great but they dropped the ball on the elbows for the footers. Down at the elbows they are leaking like a dam. 3 out of the 4 elbows are leaking.

Very professional work--concerned about the job being done right. Answered questions clearly. Gave options and helpful recommendations. Promptly provided what was needed for insurance. They were extremely easy to contact and great response. Although there were weather delays, the process went as well as possible. A neighbor who knows siding was admiring their work. Excellent job with clean up. We would highly recommend them. (Note: this is the third time we have had a home sided [in various communities--the other two not in the area]).

Job was done on time and in timely manner. Insurance claim was submitted so no out of pocket expense, which is why i put NA for price.
A few minor issues; Workers removed satellite dish from roof and I walked out to dish dangling from roof held only by the cable. I didnt tell Sterling, assuming dish company would repair, but did not. Also, air conditioner was not turning on once work was done. However, they did come by same day that I called and repaired it, no charge. Overall, Id say more of a B- than a B.

From start to finish Dennis was a pleasure to work with. A straight shooter who answered all of our many questions and helped educate us during the decision making process. Installation went smoothly. We are delighted with the results.

Tom was prompt in his response to my request for a quote. He came out the following day to provide us with our 3rd quote. His price was the lowest and he was honest about the work that needed to be done. He quoted us a price to replace our gutters and downspouts. I inquired about larger gutters and instead of up selling me on all of my gutters he explained it was more important to have larger downspouts. He had a team of 2 men come out to perform the work. They arrived when they said the would, finished in the time frame they stated, and were meticulous. I have since recommended Fox Valley to other family members and would use them in the future.

Mal and his team were awesome! Mal took his time during the initial meeting to educate us about the products we were considering and provided both the pros and cons of each. He also gave us his suggestions, which we valued given his significant experience.
What impressed me from the beginning about Mal was his attention to detail. There are no short cuts in the service he provides. Everything is expertly finished, and even hurdles and challenges in the project are completed and resolved to look just as professional as the easy parts.
The crew was polite, friendly and clean.  They were also the hardest workers I have seen in a long time (and great examples for my teenage children!)  They were at the house by 7, and many nights there were workers there until sundown.  Everything was always cleaned up at the end of the day.
We would definitely use Mal again, and would recommend him to friends and neighbors.  He is extremely personable, and a great guy to do business with.  He even had to deal with me changing my mind about a few items in the beginning of the project and did so without any problem at all.
    Thanks for everything, Mal!
