Fence Company reviews in Bloomingdale

    HANDYMAN BILL
Bill got back to me within just a few hours of calling. So many companies do not return my call at all. We live too far away, but Bill provided expert guidance on next steps to take if we wanted to do the project ourselves. My husband did want to do the project with my son. However, he was unable to find replacement fence post. Bill provided names of two other companies near him who may have this type of post. To save time, he advised to text a picture of it to fence company rather than make a trip. He advised on advantage / disadvantage of concrete versus epoxy too. Highly recommend if you live in the service area.

The workers arrived on time, kept us informed of the work, and kept in touch with the city for permit issues (fence post depth). the installation of the new fence occurred the next day after the posts were set. the new gate across the driveway looks fantastic.

    Archway Fence
It went so poorly and so unprofessionally that I am at a lose for words to accurately describe my dissatisfaction with the job promised. I I will tell you that the job was not completed satisfactorily.. That I feel that Archway Fence Co walked away from the job with out living up to the terms and conditions contractually negotiated.and that the person that I spoke with by telephone throughout the course of the project, who represented himself to be Jeffery Ziegler, President of Archway Fence Co, misrepresented both his personal knowledge of the fencing installation business, his employed's fencing installation skill and that he had little if any understanding of zoning an construction ordinances.
After the fact, its is my feeling is that Archway Fence Co quite simply took my down payment monies, attempted to throw some type of hodge podge project together with the funds I provided by me and that they then ran away with the balance of the funds provided under the contracts payment terms without completing the installation as contractually promised by deceptively making verbal and oral changes to the original contracts terms and conditions.

    First Fence Inc
The fence looks great. However, the installation was a bit rough. I just purchased the house a few months prior and do not know how everything is laid out in the yard. While they were digging post holes they ran into some underground French drains. They didn't stop and tell me about it until after they hit the second pipe. (guess they just hopped I'd not miss the first one). When they showed me what they'd done, there was no offer to move the hole/re-drill to change the layout. Instead they were just like, "Welp, there's a drain there." I don't fault them for hitting it, I didn't know it was there, so I couldn't tell them it was there before they dug, but they should have offered some resolution to the problem (I didn't expect them to fix it - it wasn't there fault) - but I did expect more than, "Look, we hit something... (again)" After all, they're the experts. I finally asked them to shove some towels up and down the pipes (to keep the concrete out) so I can come back later and dig up the pipes and reconnect them around the post. The towels were laying on the ground after they left. Also, there was ground water in a few of the post holes that the city inspector said they needed to remove before pouring - the installers said they don't have anything to pump it out with - so I conceded to a dry concrete mix for those post holes (they advertise wet pour as a reason to choose this company). All in all I would use them again, but I would request a different installation team.

    Railings & More Inc
Fantastic! I'm sorry that I had to spend so much time finding this company, but now that I found them, I want to share them with you. I own a raised ranch rental property built in 1964. The second floor living room had a black wrought iron gate which had a mounting bracket that had broken off. This resulted in a wobbly railing. Railings and More were the only company to inform me of new codes of compliance in that just like a crib, new railings had to be spaced 4 inches apart. He rightfully recommended against welding and repairing the old one (although he could have done it) because I could have been subject to a liability lawsuit. The space between posts in the old railing was 1 foot in some areas which thereby offered ample opportunity for my new tenants 15 month old baby to lodge her head and be strangled. The only other company in Welding/Railings on Angies List was a no-show when I was there, then showed up later when I was not at the property. They knew nothing about code compliance and simply offered to fix the problem for $125 (thats if they even showed up). Another company (not on the list) offered to do the same job for $500 to $750 but volunteered that they may destroy my hardwood floor in the process. Another company in Elk Grove who has been in business for many, many decades did not inform me of the codes violation I was facing and offered to repair it for $220.00. When I said that I needed a new railing altogether, they offered to do it for $1250.00!!! I did not know or trust Railing and More and all I had to go by was a Yelps report. I did not know if they would try to rip me off after I gave them a deposit. He did not know if I would rip him off by saying I wanted him to do the work, then he ordered the materials, then what if I backed out? So, to facilitate trust (and my finances!), the owner applied to be able to do Visa transactions. He had had several other requests I guess. I was his very first visa customer, so by him taking visa as a down payment for the work facilitated the trust relationship. 75% was due for down payment most of which was going to materials anyway. I had no problem with that at all. The work was scheduled after materials arrived, he was very punctual and set to work immediately to install my beautiful new, white metal railing. I highly recommend this company and wish I could remember his name!
