    Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup
The first gentleman came out and was baffled because the stains were there but when he cut out part of the ceiling, nothing was wet. He did replace the wax ring on the toilet above and he placed a call to have another member of the team come out to check it out. The second gentleman who was also very professional climbed up and inserted a probe in multiple spots and couldnt find any source of water leaking. He said to keep an eye out on it and call them back if the stains grew significantly in the next few days. I will definitely use this company again as I was very pleased with their prompt, professional service.

    Rapid Dry
I called during a time when many basements in our area were flooded due to days of steady rainfall. I found Rapid Dry on Angie's List and decided to give them a try. I got in touch with Steve and he made time that evening to come out to check our basement out. This was a stressful time for us because I was being admitted that same day to the hospital for a stem cell transplant. Steve worked with my parents to get the equipment out to dry our basement and charged a very reasonable price to get it done. I am very thankful that I used this company and plan to use them again should we have any more flooding.

I can't say enough about how great Jerry was. He got here quickly on Saturday night when my basement was starting to flood, even helped me find a plumber to fix the sump pump. He stayed and kept vacuuming up water as it came in, helping keep the damage to an absolute minimum.
Then over the next three days he helped salvage the carpet by treating it and bringing in his equipment to dry it completely. It was obvious that he cared about doing the best job possible.
The biggest thing was that when it turns out our insurance didn't cover it, Jerry bent over backwards to help keep the costs low while still giving us the best service possible. He made a really crappy situation a lot more bearable.

    Clean Sweep
We had water damage in our living room on the ceiling and wall above our fireplace was told by our insurance adjuster than it was the flashing that caused the water problem. I found Clean Sweep on Angie's List. I called Clay and he came out to take a look at the chimney. He came by as scheduled while I was at work. He was unable to ascertain for certain that it was the chimney causing the problem. With fall approaching, he is very busy so we set up a follow-up for a Saturday morning so we could be present. He had to remove the cover on the chimney to further inspect. He took photos of where he believes the problem is for us to see. He did a temporary fix to see if it is truly the trouble spot before letting us spend money on a permanent fix. We are waiting until next big rain, if no further leaking occurs, we will spend the money to obtain the permanent fix, if not we will have to do further digging into the walls to find the cause. We appreciated his help and integrity in not selling us on an expensive repair that may or may not solve our problem. We would recommend him to friends. Good communication throughout entire transaction.

    Pride Cleaning & Restoration
They were very prompt, they came out right away.  As a matter of fact while they were at my house fixing my leak, the owner Jim got a leak in his house.  He didn't leave, he just had someone take care of it.  He was really good about that.  I had dryers in the house for about three weeks.  He would send guys out a couple days a week to check readings and whatnot.  They saved my hardwood floors. When I called him I told him I heard water dripping inside the wall and he said I'm on my way.  He was there within an hour to get that stopped.  Their customer service was really great about returning calls and staying on top of things. I am happy they saved my floors.

Ronnie was one of the three companies that responded to my online inquiry for basement flooding.  He had the highest Angie's list score and an A- on BBB, mostly due to time in business.  Also no complaints on the BBB.
He called in that night.  He wasn't the cheapest, however, he gave a flat fee and promised to stay until job was complete.  Then told me to go check Angie's list and BBB.  His coupon on Angie's list brought his cost down 15% (I think he forgot about the coupon).   On cost, if you are looking for the cheapest, this is not it, even with the coupon.  But he is probably worth 90% of his cost.
Now on timeliness.   I arranged for him to come the next morning in around 45 minutes, enough time for me to remove the baseboards and drill the holes in the wall for air circulation.  He showed up way before the 45 minutes, however, he got right in and helped remove the baseboards and he drilled the holes in the wall.  Awesome service.  So don't worry if he is early, he'll get right down to work.
Equipment, he placed enough fans, dehumidifiers and hepa air filters down in the basement that I fear my electric bill.  However, my basement was dried out in 3 days and my walls were saved.
He was professional, courteous and got the job done.  I would call him again, God forbid, I need him again.  And as promised I would ask for a discount as a repeat customer.

    Baney Construction Inc
The worst thing about Baney Construction is their horrible
business "ethics". Aside from the job they did on my home, which I'll
address in moment, they also worked on my 73 year-old, recently-widowed
mother's home in the same neighborhood. She doesn't use a computer, so her
terrible experience with Baney Construction would go untold if not for me
telling it here. And I know first-hand of which I speak.
It all began after a major hail storm hit our area on April 28, 2012, damaging
many roofs in the area. Like me, they were contracted by my mother to replace
her roof, and also to do the roof on her stand-alone tool shed in the backyard.
They completed the roof on the house, which was later found to have been done
insufficiently and needing further repairs, but as contracted, they neglected
to do the roof on the tool shed. That's not the worst of it. They then sent a
letter of customer satisfaction, WHICH THEY FORGED WITH MY RECENTLY DECEASED
FATHER'S NAME, to my mother's insurance company in an attempt to get paid,
despite not finishing the job for which they were contracted to complete.
We were obviously appalled and outraged once this was brought to light. Our
local CBS News affiliate even did a consumer watchdog report on it, and it is
being investigated by local law enforcement. They are an unethical business for
what they did, and I would advise any person considering their services to stay
away, since by our experience, they cannot be trusted. All this aside, after
having another roofer inspect her roof to double-check Baney?s workmanship, she
was told that the job Baney did was not correct, and her roof is in need of
    further repairs (approx. $800 worth.).
Regarding my own experience, my work was
completed around the same time as my mother's.  However, I never, even as
of this writing, received a proper invoice for the work they completed. I have,
however, received a letter from Baney Construction's attorney, almost four
months after the job was done, threatening 'legal proceedings' unless payment
to Baney Construction was received. I've since informed their attorney of this
major oversight on Baney's part, and have been going back and forth with their
attorney over the matter. I'm not sure if Baney prematurely had their attorney
send me a threatening letter out of vengeance for getting caught red-handed
forging my deceased father?s name, or if they just manage their business and
billing so poorly that they didn't realize that I was never invoiced for the
job. Either way, it suggests that they are a poorly run company and are not
above committing fraud in order to collect on unfinished work.
Lastly, and while not as serious as the aforementioned situations, it
definitely deserves mentioning that Baney's construction crew showed up on a
Friday before the promised starting date of a Monday. This was an inconvenience
for my family, as we had family in from out of town. I had told the Baney
representative of the pending family visit when he finally called to let me
know his crew was ready to do my roof (this by the way, was roughly 2-3 weeks
after he initially told me the job would commence during the contract
signing.). The fact that the crew showed up unannounced on a day on which they
were not scheduled meant that the adults and children who had just arrived a
few hours earlier after a twelve hour car ride and in much need of rest, were
instead kept awake by unplanned construction noise. Baney Construction also did
not adequately clean up their mess, as I found pieces of shingles, gutter
brackets and other scrap lying in bushes, and the rock bed surrounding my
All in all, my experience with Baney Construction is one
which I deeply regret. I only hope others do not fall victim to circumstances
even remotely similar to those which Baney inflicted upon my family.

Always get a quote of what you want done before you sign anything and this business wants you to sign as them being your contractor regardless of what you want, which limits your abilitity to negotiate. The only reason I feel they would want to do that is because they want to have high markup and when the insurance says they won't cover that cost you will be forced to cover that expence as that is tied into the contract that they quickly try to get your to sign.
Avoid signing as it would be a bad decision, you should know exactly what to expect before you sign.

    CSL Builders
Mr. Humphrey was secured to perform a rennovation of our home after we suffered a fire at the hands of a plumber we hired back in March 2010. Mr. Humphrey accepted the project and $18,000.00 to begin the rennovations that would cost over 70 thousand dollars. Mr Humphrey agreed that he would do all damaged interior demolition, order new windows and install them and secure a Belleville certified electrician to perform the necessary electrical replacements. This arrangement began on 1/8/2011. Mr. Humphrey received a check for $5,000.00 for permits and demo and $12,800.00 for custom window ordering and securing an electrician. On approximately 4/12/2011 after many excuses as to why the progress of the repairs had pretty much come to a stand still, Mr. Humphrey stopped returning my phone calls and disappeared with our $18,000.00, incomplete demo of my interior damage, no windows ordered and no electrician secured. According to calculations based on the insurance adjuster's paperwork, Mr. Humphrey accomplished approximately $2,509.71 of the necessary work. I have reported him to the police department and states attorney and have contacted a lawyer but believe we are just out our money for our home repairs.
