    Mr. Appliance of Mid America
I was very impressed with Mr. Appliance from the first phone call to the final repair. The office manager, Julie, listened to me and immediately made an appointment for the repair man to come out to diagnose the problem. She explained the base rate and said if they had to come back, it would be credited against the repair cost. I particularly appreciated the way she adapted their schedule to mine. Then she called the evening before to confirm the appointment and sent me an email the day of to let me know he was on his way. Scott arrived on time and figured out the problem right away. The fan motor needed to be replaced. He then looked up the parts' cost and told me what the repair would be with parts and labor. It was (happily) less than I expected. He explained that Julie would call to set up another appt when the parts were delivered. Scott came back two days later and had the repair done in an hour. I highly recommend this company for appliance repair. They are knowledgeable and professional and very nice people, too! They will always be my first call.

Could not have gone better. Technician was on time and they even sent a text with picture before his arrival. He knew immediately what the problem was (frozen and blocked drain) and set about fixing it. He was very nice, courteous and professional. The work even has a one year warranty and an Angie's List coupon. I would not hesitate to use them again, if needed.

My washer died! But instead of saying oh yeah I can fix it and charge for parts I didn't need, he was honest (which is hard to find these days) and said I would need a new washer. He even gave me pointers as to which brand of washer and what to look for when purchasing. I would so hire them again!! Thank you !

They were great. They got somebody out here within a day and they were able to repair the problem, it took them a bit of work here is why I rate them different because the thing that was wrong with the refrigerator was that the gaskets were all cracked and broken and, unfortunately, that apparently is why it leaked. The repair service keep telling well you know those gaskets are still sealing I say you can't tell me that I can hold my hand and feel the air escaping and this thing is running like a lot so I knew it was an old refrigerator but they were black, they were kind of dirty and they seemed unclean I couldn't get a thing, the wheels were corroded on the thing so I mean they got it so the refrigerator was working again. They had to come back a second time cause there was another problem and they offer, so they were going to order the grill covered the bottom they're going to order and they would let me know the price, they never did order and they never came back with that.

They're very quick at getting somebody out.

They're very neat they were clean, they cleaned things up very well.

Mr. Meyer was very knowledgeable and very helpful. He also switched the doors on both of our appliances, so they can open up easier. He gave us several great suggestions on how to keep our washer in good shape. This is the second time I have used Meyer and I'm very pleased. Highly recommend them!

Never showed on the day they were supposed to come.  When they finally showed, the repairman berated the installation my husband did for the dishwasher he was there to fix.  I informed him my husband worked with electricity for a living, and he laughed at me.  He got the dishwasher to drain again, but there was still a leak coming from it.  I called him out on this, and he messed around with it for a minute.  At this point, I was seconds away from asking him to leave.  Guess what?  There's still a leak.  He was very proud of getting the "smell of death" out of my dishwasher, though.  Maybe it wouldn't have smelled that bad if they would have shown up the day they were scheduled.

Mr. Meyer told us the refrigerator is shot. It is over twenty years old and the parts are not available and is not worth trying to fix. I believe this to be true as I have heard this before from friends. I wanted this service check done because I am having trouble with another business in town who I have opened a case on with Angie's List. The reconditioned appliance store on North Belt in Swansea Illinois has not fullfilled their promise for service on my kitchen refrigerator and now the used one is not workiing properly. I wish I would have called Meyer Appliance before doing anything else.

I went to The Reconditioned Appliance Store and spoke with Bill Mitchell, who told me he was the owner.  I made an agreement to buy a used refrigerator for $150.00 plus $35.00 delivery charge.  I further agreed to pay an additional $215.00 for their service technician to fix the existing refrigerator I have in my kitchen.  The technician was suppose to fix my kitchen refrigerator at the same time the refrigerator I purchased was delivered to my home.  Bill told me the service repair had to be done the same time as the delivery was made because he was not going to send a technician to my house twice.  I understood he did not want to pay them for two trips
Bill promised my refrigerator would be fixed no matter what parts were needed to complete the job.  Bill further agreed that if the fix was minor he would refund any amount of the $215.00 that was not necessary to fix the refrigerator.  This agreed upon deal was put together on one contract form with the total amount of $400.00 paid in full.
I trusted Bill then but now realize I should never had agreed to buy an appliance and pay for a service repair on the same bill.  I have tried to get a refund for the service call, that was never accomplished, and was told by Bill several times no.  Bill did call me once stating he and his business partner agreed to refund the $215.00.  He told me he would do this so that no bad publicity would result from this deal.  When I went to the business Bill refused to refund my money.  Now I can not believe anything he says. Bill now speaks fast and furious even though I have tried to resolve the problem.
I will say the agreement paperwork has a stamp of no refunds; however I am only disputing the amount of money paid for services which I have never received.  I will not go to the business anymore to avoid any verbal confrontation.  I want others to know to watch out for the fast deals this business makes and the promises made without legally binding paperwork.
The rating marks I have given above are for the service portion of the agreement and not the refrigerator purchased.  I will be hoping the refrigerator works past the limited warranty date given.

Between the time I first submitted this dispute and now I have discovered the used refrigerator does no cool at a low enough temperature to make ice cubes in ice trays.  This unit was suppose to come with a 90-day warranty but I doubt this man will honor the agreement he made to fix or replace the refrigerator.

Now I have nothing for the $400.00 I have spent.

They come out when they say they will.  They have kept the machine running.  They are trustworthy and professional people.  I have no problems with them.  They have good people that come over.  I never worried about who is going in my house and who is doing the work.  The older the machine gets, the higher the price for the maintenance.

    Fairview Heights Appliance Repair
Service Technician was on time. Looked at fridge first. Quickly pointed out a hidden reset switch and turned on fridge. Then he went to our outside condensing unit...... checked pressures and freon level with guages.....  made a few notes. Went inside and cleaned a-coil. Tech gave me an honest assessment of current equipment and explained all work he did. I was very pleased with prices and the prompt service. I will call this company back when I decide to replace my old unit.......or for further service work as well. Thanks Fella's
