Locksmith reviews in Aurora

    Quick Key Locksmith
Happy that they replaced the door knob lock-set with a high quality set. The cost of service would have been much lower if we did not need a new lock-set. Service man was very polite. The reason that I would explore using a different company next time is because the door knob for an exterior door was not put back together properly and the handles fell off. Unfortunately, this happened as I was exiting my house to simply take trash out and did not have my keys with me. When the door shut behind me, the handles fell off, and without the handles I was locked out. A local handyman was able to put the handles back onto the door knob and it has been permanently fixed.

    Quick Key Locksmith
I needed a key made for a 1999 Mercury with a transponder in
the key.  I had lost the last key I had.
Also the last time I had the key and tried starting the car
    the battery was apparently dead.
So I had no key and the car wouldn?t start if I had one.
Checked with the car dealer, if they could do it, it would
be $400 and I would have to tow it to them, put in a new battery or something
else, but they said car was too old to even try ? no deal.  They did suggest I try calling a locksmith.
    I called 5.  Only 3 of
them were willing and able to do the job.
One could only do it on a Saturday, but would do so for
$195, and supply 2 keys, but I had to be able to have someone jump the car or
get a strong charger that could start it without a jump.
2nd would do it any day I wanted and was willing
to do it at a shop where I could tow the vehicle and they could first change or
charge the battery.  His fee for the key
was going to be about $100 more than the first one mentioned above.
The 3rd one I called was Eli, with Quick Key
Locksmith, Wheaton, highly rated on Angie?s.
What a great deal.  He came the
next morning, said he would jump the car for me. And charged much less than
either of the 2 mentioned above, giving me a Senior Citizen discount .  (Eli
gave me his card and said the company name is changing to Chicagoland Locksmith
Eli was extremely courteous, friendly and
knowledgeable.  He arrived at the time he
scheduled.  He made two keys for me, and
started the car with his own jumper cables.
Got the key made and car started in about 30 minutes.
Eli is one of the owners of this firm, and I highly
recommend him.  I?ll call him again,
whether it be for a car or other keys.

    Expert Lock and Safe, Inc.
My bathroom door would lock if I shut it from the outside. Technician came and told me I needed a new door knob.. The new knob cost $90 and had to be special ordered so I had to wait a week or so for it to come in. A month laterI had the bathroom remodeled. and I noticed that the door once again locked if shut from the outside. The workmen told me there was nothing about a punch lock that would cause it to spontaneously lock. They told me the problem was that I had no door stop so the door would hit against the wall and push the lock button. They installed a door stop and the problem stopped. They told me the door knob that was installed was a standard model costing less than $20.. I believe that the locksmith must have known the lock was not responsible for the problem and charged me $90 for nothing, figuring that, as an older widow living alone, I would never know the difference. Also, the sliding glass door lock he repaired is now broken again and I am having to find another locksmith and pay again to have it fixed.

    Non Stop Locksmith
I tried to do it myself by removing the handles and force the striker to unlatch. Even after using WD40, striker did not unlatch. After it was fixed, using the key is not as smooth as before. But it works.

    Non Stop Locksmith
    I don't remember the cost.
They answered the phone on Saturday evening, when I lost my keys.  They said they could not fix the lockout of my car (thanks to the smart key system).
However, when I called the following day, they set up an appt. conveniently for Mon. am.  I live in the suburbs and they didn't charge extra for coming.
The worker was professional and courteous.  He seems fairly fast, and made sure all my keys worked.  He came prepared to make the extra copies I wanted (as it would be the most convenient time ever again).
    I'm more than satisfied.

    Goldy Locks Inc
Locksmith was punctual, friendly, professional, and very efficient. He also cleaned up completely after his work was finished.
    I definitely recommend them.
PS Also highly recommend them for making extra copies of keys - the ones they made all worked perfectly as opposed to the ones I got done elsewhere. Keys made at Home Depot, Menards, and Ace are not worth it - they are cheaper and seldom work.
For an extra $.25/key, the ones Goldy Locks makes always work and never need to be returned.

    Bell's Lock & Key Service
Overall, I was very pleased with the service.  The owner, who also did the work, was very pleasant and responsive. The cost was quite reasonable.  I could tell that he really cared about his work and in giving me the best service.  He was running about 1.5 hours late because he had an emergency call that morning, but he did call me twice to let me know and keep me posted.

    Van's Lock & Key Svc
I was leaving for work when I realized I'd locked my keys in the house. I drive by Vans Lock and Key on the way to work everyday, so I gave them a call. They were at my house in less than 10 minutes, and I wasn't more than 5 minutes late for work.

I called Ron this morning to schedule a visit. He quoted me an $80 service call + parts. We picked a time and scheduled it today. He arrived on time fixed the deadbolt with parts he already had on hand. He only charged me for the service call.

    Mr Fix-It
I was happy with the job that he did. They charged by the hour and he went right to work. I really liked that he didn't dolly around. He didn't even answer his cell phone while he was working. I think they are a very honest company.
