    ALLSTATE INSURANCE CO
We have been with them for thirty years. They are great. They are the best in terms of handling any kind of claims. They handle it quickly and fairly. Their pricing is competitive. I do not think that they are the lowest, but with insurance companies, there is a downside against how they handle claims which is the reason you are with them in the first place.

    Jim Finnerty State Farm Insurance
Have had home policy with St Farm for over 20 years.
FIRST CLAIM EVER!  Nightmare of a process.
    Basement flooding.
Am on 5 or 6th adjuster.
Initial estimated and adjustments GROSSLY under quotes for water mitigation, painting, and drywall and trim repair.
Several weeks and months with no contact or information on what is needed to settle damage.   Finally after initial adjuster comes to house we get statement and check for structure damage that is less than half of estimates to repair.   In July, we were given different instructions to submit quotes before work was started.   Well after most of the work was done.
The only estimates that were reasonable were for carpet replacement, maybe that was because we submitted the bill for the carpet we replaced last year as reference.
Mitigation contractor ServPro recommended by State Farm as one of there "National" contractors bill was too high.   They "worked it out" but actually did not and am over $1800 short based on last statement.
We were told more than once to get work done and submit bills.  If difference to original estimates they would review with contractors and cover.
For Mitigator - work was alread completed before adjustment was done.
For drywall and trim St Farm wants to pay less to have all drywall repaired, taped, ... and trim completely replaced than they allowed for the mitigator to tear out the drywall.
We were told to keep track of hours and material for work we did - Included painting, moving all furniture, and wet dirty water carpet and pad removal.   DONT BOTHER they pay less than minimum wage for this work.
BOTTOM LINE flood was in April and I we still have not settled for bills sent in July.   I am still out over $5000 due to me.

    Beil and Stromberg
We have been working with this agency (and more specifically, Steve Stromberg) for nearly 20 years since relocating to the Chicago area. The service they provide is the best I've gotten from any agency/representative. The service in this particular instance was consistent with what we've experienced over time. First, he bent his schedule to accommodate my very constrained schedule. Then, Steve listened carefully to what our current requirements were, offered some suggestions regarding options to undertake (including what we should do even if we did not switch the policy on the second home to his agency), and got back to us with additional information regarding the policies. In this regard, he also noted some information based on the current housing values that indicated we might be a bit over-insured on our home insurance.
Our work with Steve on this insurance review is but a snapshot of what has been consistently great service from Beil and Stromberg over nearly 20 years. I highly recommend this agency.

    John Harrison State Farm Insurance
John has provided my auto and rental and/or home owners insurance since 2009.  He's always provided thorough explanations for what options he can offer, what his recommendations would be and why, and what factors to consider when making my choices.  When I was in an auto accident last winter, he was very responsive and supportive - he arranged for the rental car ASAP and even called the other driver who'd been making harrassing calls to me.  When I bought a new house, he drove out to take a look and took time to discuss all my options, and helped me pick the best plan for what I needed.

    FARMERS INSURANCE
Becky is a great agent! She is very knowledgeable and always gets back to me promptly. She's given me great advice over the years with regards to coverage, and has never tried to sell me anything I felt I didn't need. I'm sure there are cheaper companies out there...but I greatly value the fact that I can just pick up the phone and talk with someone who knows me. I recently needed some body work, and she recommended a fantastic shop (Cars Collision...see review). They were every bit as good as she said they were. If Becky's out of the office, one of the other agents always call me back in a timely manner or respond to emails I've sent her.
