    Neighborhood Refrigerator Repair
Technician provided explanation of what needed to be replaced (motor) and the cost for doing so. Once we approved the charge, he had the part in his truck and immediately performed the repair. Friendly and professional.

My over-the-range microwave is not working. It is jenn-air brand and pretty expensive. It is only 4.5 years old. Victor came on scheduled time. Spent 30-45 mintues but could not figure out the root cause. There was burning smell. Instead of finding what is burnt, he spent time on the control pad. At the end, just telling me that it is not worth to fix this microwave. He was just guessing that it was an issue with magnetron but not sure. I don't think he is qualified enough to fix microwave issue. It seems like I just spent $89.95 for nothing.

    Affordable Appliance Repair
Bob came out within two days of my initial call. Immediately saw the likely problem: the aluminum foil I'd placed on the bottom (to catch drips) was covering the vents from the bottom broiler/flame source probably overheated "the board." He tested the igniter and gas line, which were working. Then tested the electric lines to "the board", which were dead. He gave me an estimate of the cost to fix versus his perception of the overall condition of the oven. I called back a few days later to have him fix it. He ordered the part and came out two days later. Bob fixed it within an hour, and it now works great. He even leveled it for me when I realized it was wobbling. $50 to diagnose, $175 to repair (applied the $50 diagnosis fee to the final cost)

    Premium Appliance Repair
I called to get an estimate since I know what is wrong with the dryer. I was quoted and service call fee and a repair fee. I called them because on their website http://premiumappliancerepair.com/services/dryers/ it clearly says "Free service call with repair". I was told by Michelle that they do not offer that. I called back and got Michelle again. I pointed out that their website clearly states in the 3rd bullet point down, "Fee service call with repair." Again I was told that they do not offer that. If they are employing false advertising to lure you in, what else will they falsely represent? I told her I would notify Angie's list. I feel it is unfair to provide ratings on their service since I did not use it.

The freezer half of my side by side fridge was leaking water. Leonardi's sent out a young man to see what was going on, he did his diagnosis and found a hose had cracked. He had it fixed in less than an hour. Great service.

Chicago Appliance Service Co - Chicago Suburban
After investigating the issue, initially he told it would cost $250-330. Then he told that it would require new control board and the total cost will be $460. I found the control board will cost around $150. I asked him why is he asking so much but did not get good answer. I think he was asking too much and it is not worth to fix this issue. I was also not sure if that was the root cause. So I decided not to fix it. The service person put everything back and just charged the investigation fee of $79.

Dan came out after I called about what I thought was a dishwasher leaking through into the basement.  He determined it wasn't the dishwasher, and then a considerable amount of time helping me figure out where the leak was coming from, which ended up being something totally unrelated.  After that he talked with me about ways to help get my dishes cleaner.  He noticed a lot of calcification in my dishwasher and gave me three bottles of dishwasher cleaner to get rid of the calcification.  I could go on and on about everything we discussed and his recommendations, but bottom line, Dan was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I also appreciate the fact that he took his shoes off at the front door without asking, which is becoming less and less common these days.  I would definitely use him again in the future.

The icemaker on our 3-year old fridge started making only ice chips, then earlier this week stopped making anything.  We called Leonardi about 8:30 in the morning and the responsiveness was excellent.  They were very professional and courteous on the phone and promised they'd check with their technicians to see if someone could come by that day, which they thought was probably possible.  They called back a few minutes later to say they were on their way already!
Dan showed up at our door, very polite and professional.  He removed the icemaker and looked it over, then he checked on the water piping and valve directing water to our freezer.  He quickly determined that our piping and valve were corroded resulting in only a trickle of water to the icemaker, and with such low pressure the line into the icemaker had frozen.  (The fridge is just a few years old but the piping and valve go back many more years.)  He chipped the ice out of the line running into the icemaker and cleared it, grabbed a $10 valve from his truck, and replaced the valve and tubing under our kitchen sink, and presto -- the icemaker was back in business again, working perfectly!
We were very impressed with Leonardi's professionalism, courtesy, caring, and efficiency and recommend them highly.  We'd heard really good things about them over the years but this was our first experience with them.  We will definitely look at them for new appliance needs in the future and for appliance servicing.
