I got it through a VA loan and the inspector came out and said it was about $1500 too much so I got it for $1500 less. Anytime I needed something when we first moved in I just gave the general contractor a call and he took care of it. Every time they sent someone over they were on time. I would tell other people good things about them. They have nice designs and floor plans. They have decent prices and seem to be very easy to work with.

    AM Construction Services Inc.
The job was clean; the floors to and in the work area were covered and work area itself was sealed by hanging foil. The workmanship showed in the installation of cabinets and electrical as well as the grouting on the floor and walls. The best value was that Andrew provided suggestions for trouble spots like what to do with a load bearing beam that had to stay (it turned into an appealing feature in the kitchen - I included a picture). I will definitely use them for my next project as well.

    Neighborhood Remodelers
Our 1937 Cape Cod had a breakfast nook that was mostly wasted space so we decided to transform it into a powder room. Sebastian, the project lead, was very easy to work with and very dedicated to getting everything just right. We needed to run new electrical, plumbing (including re-running some existing pipe), build out a new wall, insulate, drywall, trim, paint and tile. We decided to re-tile the kitchen at the same time to visually unite the spaces. Sebastian was sure to ask questions as he went along, offer options, and provide detailed pros and cons. The work space was kept clean and the rest of the house was protected from airborne debris as the work progressed. Mike, the project manager, picked up and delivered the flooring, fixtures, and kept the project on schedule.
In the end, the powder room looks like it was original to the house and the work exceeds our expectations. What I've always liked about Neighborhood Remodelers is how easy they are to work with and how concerned they are to make sure everything is done right... they're just good people.

    Designers Point Inc
Designers Point gave us a schedule of 7 weeks and it was done in that time period!  A year later we still love our kitchen.  We did have a problem with our dishwasher ....When I mentioned it to Dick we had a new dishwasher within a matter of weeks. We would completely recommend Designers Point.  Extremely professional and customer service oriented.

    Xm Construction
Marc Chiodo and bis brother are really nice and knowledgeable.  They came to the site to look at it firsthand and they were on time and thorough.  They made insightful suggestions about the project.   Some of their suggestions were from first hand knowledge of projects and they were able to make suggestions that we had not even thought about.  When they submitted their proposal, they included options that would be less costly.  We really appreciated that.  I would highly recommend them.

    Creative Craftsman
I used Creative Craftsman for a garage and a deck demo job. Couldn't be happier! Very organized, clean, punctual, swept the site after the demolition was done and you couldn't even tell they were there. Dominick is a very patient pro, listens to what you are trying to accomplish and delivers 110% on time and budget. Highly recommended and I am planning on using him again. My neighbors were complementing his organization and work ethic - that has to tell you something!

Approx. 10yrs ago KDH did an addition to our house.   Since then we have had an issue in our attic and now our Master Shower.
Summer of 2012 we discovered our attic, which we never use, was covered with mold, due to improper ventilation.  We had to get the mold removed, the wood treated, the correct amount of insulation put in and a roofing company had to out in the vent holes, for a cost of $4,000.  I am sure in time will need to get the vaulted ceiling in our barroom redone as well, since it's showing signs of moisture.   When Dave was contacted to come over and look at it, he said he would come over and never showed up, that was in July of 2012.
Yesterday we had a guy out to re-grout our master bath Shower.  He discovered mold in there as well, our entire shower stall needs gutted and redone, water was going all over.  We learned that a shower should not be installed and had we not done anything about it, our shower would have gone through the floor to our garage.  As he is ripping everything out, my upstairs smells like mold/mildew and all the wood is soaking wet, it's going to cost us about $6000 to repair.
After talking to several neighbors, all the houses KDH worked did additions on, have the same problems.  This is not an isolated issue.

We asked Brian Koch of Midwest Construction to build a room addition to the rear of our 45 year old home.

    |From the first visit Brian knew just what we wanted and took care of all the details from the initial drawings and village approval to the last light fixture installation.

    |Midwest uses only professional subcontractors that he knows can be trusted to maintain standard and reputation.

    Neighborhood Remodelers
They were very good. They are responsive. I had initially sent them an email to inquire about the job, but their reply went directly to my spam folder. Once I found their email, there were no problems with responsiveness after that. One of the owners, Mike Cooper, was constantly on top of things. I felt the price was very reasonable. I’m planning to hire them to remodel my laundry room future.

    RCS Drywall & Construction
Ron Scherer, owner of RCS Drywall & Construction, is a seasoned journeyman carpenter who understands building construction & carpentry very well. In addition to the major projects above, he has done numerous small repair and remodeling jobs in our home. He gets a great deal done in a short period of time, always keeping things as cost effective for us as possible, often suggesting cost saving options. RCS always cleans up at the end of each day.
Mr. Scherer takes responsibility for his work: when a leak was discovered in the new shower, he came back, tracked the leak down & repaired it, refusing to take any money for the repair, even though he could have easily argued the leak was due to unforeseeable events that often occur in remodeling.
