    K&B Financial, Inc.
Way better than expected. We had so many questions and they were answered on the spot. Very knowledgeable and explained everything so we could understand. The follow up is always reliable. Thumbs up!!

    United Health Care
I have been turned down for health insurance by United Health Care at least 4 times in the past 2 years.  Each time, I am told it is for a pre-existing condition, which I understand, but each of the 4 times it was for a DIFFERENT pre-existing condition even though all information was identical the 4 times I applied.

    BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois
We use Blue Cross and Blue Shield PPO for our medical insurance and feel that it is very good insurance. We have never had a problem with claims that are submitted and they are always prompt in sending us our Estimate Of Benefits. I would recommend this company to anyone needing medical insurance. They have so many different policies to choose from.

BCBS is one of the better health insurers, generally accepted at most medical offices and hospitals in Illinois (and across the country). They are timely with their EOBs. Their payment schedule almost always leaves me with unpaid costs to cover on my own. I suppose they are the lesser of evils: very high deductible, very high co-pay but you cannot live without health insurance. I would place them near the top of the list of health insurers in Illinois but healthcare still costs a small fortune even with insurance

    BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois
I'm happy with this insurance provider because my doctors accept it, and the coverage they provide is exceptional. I've never been denied coverage for a procedure or test recommended by my doctors. Sometimes, several phone calls need to be made in order to get the referral I need, but it's worth it to have the coverage.

    Northwest Community Hospital
They stick to their manual too much. They don't assess the person individually. They are too busy focusing on covering themselves than on treating the patients. The doctors and staff seem pleasant enough. The office environment is clean and fine. They are always there in the emergency room. I would use them again as it is the closest hospital to my place and my doctors are there.

    WALGREENS-Take Care Health Clinic
I went to the Take Care Clinic in Downers Grove mostly because I could walk in. However, when I arrived, there was a note that the nurse was at lunch and wouldn't return for an hour. I went and got lunch and when I came back, I was 4th in the queue to be seen. Fortunately, the 3 ahead of me were nowhere to be found so I went in first.
The nurse checked my ears and mouth and determined that I did not have an ear infection, but I did have fluid in my ears that would have caused an ear infection if I did not have it checked out. She prescribed Amoxcyllin, which I told her I have used before and did not believe it was strong enough. She said that I might have built up an immunity to it, but since it had been so long since I last used it, it should be effective.
The symptoms lasted for at least a week after I began Amoxycillin so I'm not sure she was right. But all in all, she treated me fine and I'm glad I went.

Other than the receptionist, everyone else was very friendly. I am not sure how fast an ER normally operates but I was there for about 2 and a half hours, which seems like forever when you're in pain. I was in a neck and back brace for a good amount of the time, and was somewhat annoyed by another woman who kept coming in my room to see if I could sign some papers yet. Finally she just asked me to do it while I was laying down in the brace. I am not sure why it couldn't wait until I was in a more comfortable position, seeing as it was paperwork I already signed at their other location. I would return to the ER if it was my only option. I do find Alexian Brothers to be a little more friendly to their patients though.

    Northwest Community Hospital
This is an A++ hospital. Their wound care is very poor, so I would not recommend this hospital for wound care. That is the only thing wrong with the hospital. All the doctors I had were great. Anytime I've needed them, they're there for me. When you go here, you get service right away. They are very punctual. The staff bend backwards to help you. If you ring for them, they want to know what they can do for you. They should work on their communication. I have been here several times, and I leave the hospital as though I have been healed, and have no problems.

They are friendly. They are efficient. They have a pretty extensive surgical staff. It is convenient. I find it to be clean and well-kept. The staff, for the most part, seems to be concerned about their patients, and they are attentive.
