Home Builder reviews in Pocatello

    Willis Construction LLC
Mr. Willis was one of 6 rcompanies that we contacted to request evaluation and bids to reroof our Pocatello property. All pre-work conversations had to be via email as we are currently living in Europe.  Mr. Willis's bid was several thousand dollars LOWER than the next closest bidder for the exact same work and product (shingles, underlayment, etc). He agreed to schedule the work for a time when we could travel to Pocatello ( the best schedule for US not necessarily his crew).
The crew arrived exactly when scheduled. The materials were what we had contracted. Each night they cleaned up what accummulated throughout the day. When an unexpected problem developed with the gutters, Mr Willis took immediate and appropriate action to rectify it. The entire project took around 2 weeks.
We give our highest recommendation to Ben Willis and his crew.

    Hooked On Construction
Arrived on monday at 9am as agreed. Keith made quick work of the first side of the wall demolition. The most impressive aspect of his work throughout, and at the end of the first day; was how clean he maintained the work area! So, he worked quickly and cleaned things up as he worked. A very cool thing is that he used visqueen and collapsible poles to barrier off the work area, again with keeping the work area and more importantly the non work areas separated and clean. As he finished the demolition of one area, he and quot;finishedand quot; off the edges of the work area to provide a clean edge to work with for future finishing work. The second day, again arriving promptly, he set up structural supporting walls, removed the walls 2x4's and and installed the header beam. The last day, he tore down the living room side of the wall. Again keeping inside and outside work areas clean with visqueen barriers and paid special attention to the hardwood floor by protecting it from damage. He finished the job as specified and removed all the demolition material. Overall, completely professional craftsmanship and work ethic

    Briscoe Builders Construction
Never honored the builders warranty. The work done was cheaply done, cutting corners causing havoe down the road. Lied to us, that the well was a community well instead it violates state codes with controls being located in the neighbor's basement,  leaving us with no controls to our own well/water.

    SPRING CREEK HOMES & EXCVTG
Provider took a long time to return calls or didn't return calls. During demo work, a pipe was not capped off correctly, so kitchen carpet was flooded. I pulled up half to two thirds of it myself and asked contractor to help pull up rest instead of having wet, dirty (because of construction) carpet left in kitchen until new flooring installed. I was charged for them helping me pull up the carpet THEY flooded! The quality of work the subcontractor did was very good. I realize this was a small, simple job on the scale of what Spring Creek does, but I certainly didn't feel they appreciated my business.

I was very pleased that the door installation confines cats to kitchen and gives kitchen a pleasing frame that also lets in light; the finishing trim throughout the house covers up gouges left by carpet that was removed and gives house a neater aspect; the improperly constructed pergola shut out all light from the kitchen and was potentially a hazard for anyone using the deck. Now the kitchen has light and the deck does not look like a cave. The owner of the company kept in contact and finished in a timely way. Overall, I am very pleased with the work done by Briscoe Building Construction, Inc.

    Murray Homes
He told me he would bring a crew in and have the work done within a week. The following week, he had only done about a third of the work. One window was finished.

The new home I was moving into had to be ready by July, so I was on a rather strict timeline. He did not seem to concerned about keeping to the schedules I was hoping for. This was not only frustrating, but caused issues with the entire project; as the drywall man could not start until the windows and doors were in.

On top of this, the front door he installed was not up to the standards I was hoping for. He was unresponsive when I tried to contact him about this. He did not show up when expected.

He was incredibly messy, not only in the house but in the yard. I had to pick up scrap lumber, bent nails, etc. etc. etc., as well as as many cigarette butts. I had a dumpster in front of the house, but I was the only one using it.

Virtually everything he did had to be redone, either before or after I moved into the house.

Wow!  He did a great job, came in UNDER budget and only 3 weeks late (I had expected 6-8, so this is really good!)  He was very responsive to my needs, made great suggestions, and saved me money!

    SPOKLIE DRYWALL
It was a good experience and we are happy with our choice to use this company.  We would hire them again and can recommend them without reservation.  The owner of the company was good to work with, charged us exactly what he told us he was going to charge and gave us helpful advice and suggestions in our initial meeting with him.   His workers were competent and courteous.  Our finished basement added considerably to our living space and enjoyment of our  home.  We did the flooring and painting ourselves and have done our own drywalling in the past.  We felt it was well worth what we paid to have it done professionally.
