    I had just had an accident slipping on the ice in my driveway when I was without insurance which cost me almost $15000.  If I had had this coverage then, it would have cost me only $2000 for my elbow surgery.  I wish I had known about this option, so I'd like others to know about it as well.  It was so easy to sign up for and I didn't have to wait long for it to take effect.  I think you can sign up for a year and be billed monthly and stop any month you want when you get other insurance.  So this would be good to get and then if you get something better with Obamacare, you could stop this short term insurance then. I had previous experience with Regence (more than 2 years ago).  I was a Benefits Coordinator and dealt with them for about three years. They had a wonderful plan and one of my favorite parts was the health coaching they offered with weekly phone call appointments.  I am still benefiting from those calls today.  They also were very easy to deal with administratively.  We later switched to another insurance provider that did not offer such great service.

    I have been using Blue Cross for almost one year now. The premiums are fairly priced, but honestly, I think that has more to do with how much my employer pays. I have found the deductibles to be a bit high, and the prescription coverage is lousy. However, the fact that they reimburse providers at a higher rate than a lot of other insurers means that I have never been turned away from a provider due to my insurance company. That is saying a lot, as my previous insurer, TRI-Care, had made it almost impossible to find medical providers and specialists when needed. They also pay my providers promptly, and generally without extra effort on my part. BC of Idaho has a nice web-site where I can view my claims, and make some changes to my and quot;accountand quot; or information. However, I have had difficulty getting questions answered on the web site and it seems like the information available on the site is massive, but never quite what I need. All in all, though, BC has been a pretty good company to work with.

    When I called I got correct information about my coverage contract through my works e. when my doctors office called to make sure of my coverage before they submitted a pre authorization request, they would get wrong information so wouldn't put through the request or the request they sent in was denied because BCI mis interpreted what the doctor office was asking. Very frustrating!!! I had to call my work human resources who had to call the BCI administrator of our contract to get it straightened. There still was confusion but it is slowly getting resolved.

    I wasn't on hold for very long, which is a plus! After walking through a rather lengthy history from an accident, the rep was able to clarify some coverages that had been in question. The rep was knowledgeable and courteous. We were able to clarify exactly what insurance would be responsible for what.
