Ive literally never seen such an unprofessional company. When our roof was supposed to be done by the end of June. We didnt hear anything for over a month because we tried to contact them three different times. Its now the end of July, we were promised it would be done. Yet, no one will come do it since its busy season. If its busy season, dont make promises you cant keep. Would absolutely never use again. Incredibly unprofessional business. They keep saying we cant get out of our contract. Im sure a judge would disagree.

    Anderson Family Construction LLC
Anderson Family Construction is building our custom home in Moscow, Idaho. From design services and planning to its (almost!) completion, I've been impressed with the quality of work, work ethic of every crew member, and the beauty of the home (which we call Foucachon Farmhouse) they're building for us on our plot of land north of Moscow! They incorporating a few special elements into the house, like the cornerstone (literal, 400+lb stone) that was part of our proposal story 11 years ago, as well as a butcher block island that used to be in our family business. It will be a new home with an old soul, thanks to the care and attention of every worker on the AFC crew. We feel the crew genuinely loves the home they're building, and are proud of their work. Anderson Family Construction knows how to build smart, with intelligent designs that are architecturally beautiful and classic, and also highly efficient. I highly recommend AFCs services! #AFCBuilt

    College Pro Painters
He called and said he'd start work June 14th and 15th, for paint removal on a house we use as a rental, a nice home on Asbury St in Moscow. Then he called me today June 15th, 2018 to tell me that his bid was a bad bid. He had been informed in March that the job involved lead paint, but he said that he'd only bid out two lead paint jobs this year, and that his first lead paint job had been been a difficult one, his workers were unhappy and he'd lost money on the job. This quote was for preparation (washing and scraping prep work) only, as we wanted to do the painting ourselves. He quoted $1,250. for prep work on the small two bedroom house, single story, but now said that he'd need an extra one thousand dollars to do the job. He was willing to refund me the money I'd put down already... and set a time to do that, but he would not honor his signed contract. Now I am facing finding someone else who actually has more professional experience and will keep their word. Mind you he was courteous, just didn't come through when promised even with a signed contract and money down.

    Shiloh Construction
Terrible, the workers would show up between 9 and 10 in the morning, take an hour for lunch, then leave at 3 every day. Of course I was billed for 40 hours a week for each worker, whether they were there or not. The work was shotty at best, the window in our bedroom leaks and mold is now growing. After the work was done and the contract was paid as agreed plus an extra thousand, I was given another bill for close to six thousand dollars for extra labor that never happened.

    Fork Refrigeration Inc
Fork Refrigeration is the provider for our Home Warranty and they were a good contractor for the Warranty company to choose. The manager/owner came within the hour of my reporting our failed furnace to the Home Warranty company and then obtained consent from the Warranty company to replace the furnace within a day. It was then only a couple more days before our furnace was replaced quickly, cleanly, and professionally.

    Osprey Exteriors
Osprey sent mail advertisement that they repaired leaky roofs so I called. I also called another roofer but never received a response from them. Osprey's owner Ben called me back right a way and was over to look at what needed done within a few days. Since I was filing an insurance claim on the leaks I requested an estimate to send to our insurance adjuster. Ben's estimate was within pennies of the insurance estimate so I hired him and his team. An appointment was made within a reasonable time and the foreman with an assistant came at the appointed time to begin work. They fixed the first leak and attempted a fix on the second one, but it continued to leak. I let Osprey know of the problem and requested that they make additional repairs to fix that second leak. There was a lot of time that went by between the initial work and my receiving an invoice. The invoice, however, was not an accurate reflection of the work done, so I requested an accurate invoice and again requested that they let me know if they were going to return and fix the second leak. Again, after several weeks I received what they deemed a corrected invoice and a statement that they were not going to return to fix the second leak. They thought I should pay for their efforts on the second leak even though they had abandoned the job before fixing the problem and I would have to hire another contractor to do the job properly. I was very disappointed that our relationship broke down in this way.

When I told a friend that I had lined-up Hilliard's for plumbing and furnace work, he grimaced, saying, "They over-charge." Because of his warning, I almost canceled the service calls, but positive reviews on Angie's List convinced me to give the company a chance. Now, I wish I hadn't. Based on my experience, Hilliard's does, indeed, over-charge; and the quality of their work is less than stellar. I have no serious qualms with the technician's, themselves, who were friendly and appeared qualified. The furnace repairman knew his Carrier furnace and performed honest labor. However, the furnace was exceptionally dirty and should have received a thorough cleaning. The little hand brush used to sweep-out some dust did not adequately address the issue. A canister vacuum should have been used, as furnace technicians from other companies had employed before. In this instance, Hilliard's did not have, or at least did not use, the right equipment. As regards the plumbing work, Hilliard's sent out two men for what should have been a one-man job. The repairs were not complicated; one person could have easily accomplished the work. (In my 30 years of being a home owner, I've never had more than one plumber be sent to complete a service call; some jobs being much more involved than the one at issue). The furnace technician spent one hour on premises doing his work. The plumber and his helper were also on site for only one hour. Yet I was billed for 5.5 hours labor: the additional "labor" being driving vans approximately 10 miles each way, to and from the service address. I'm sorry: it doesn't take 2.5 hours to traverse the miles involved; and that driving -- in my book, and by prior experience with other companies -- certainly shouldn't be charged at the full, professional rate. (In contrast, Nolan Heating, out of Colfax, WA, does excellent work and only adds a minimal charge for traveling out of the regular service area: $9.00 to travel 20 miles out-of-area on their last service call.) Be advised, if you plan to hire Hilliard's Heating and Plumbing, you'll be paying the full professional rate of $85-an-hour for them to travel to and from the work site. Also be aware, the time for travel will likely be exaggerated beyond explanation. And the quality of work may well be marginal, as it was in my case. We all have that sixth-sense to know when we have received honest service from a company, and when a company's overriding reason for being is to make a buck. By my assessment, Hilliard's Heating and Plumbing falls into this latter category. I have paid my bill, but I will not be providing the payee my future business or referrals. There are better companies in the region to deal with.

They are very progressive and are growing. They are super helpful and very professional. All of the staff in the store help me to those who have the right answers if they don't know. I would recommend them.

    College Pro Painters
A representative of College Pro Painters set a date and time for them to come to give me the estimate. I was there at the arranged time, but no one showed up and no one called. I considered this to demonstrate their unreliability and did not call to schedule again.

    Independent Home Services LLC
We scheduled an estimate on our bathroom via their website. The contractor came out to give us an estimate on our bathroom, however it was not the best experience. First, he didn't come with a tape measure, or took any notes. I felt like during the whole visit, he was not understanding or listening to what we wanted done. In the end, he pulled a number out of the air, and said that he quotes people twice as much then the actual cost would be. Well, without any accurate measurements, I could only imagine the mistakes that would take place on their part so a large quote would make sense. The contractor recently opened up a restaurant and talked mainly about that. And finally, we never received the quote that was promised at the end.
