    Phil's Auto Repair
My front brakes started to squeak. I removed the tires and observed one pad was metal against metal. I disassembled the brakes and found one caliper was seized up and wouldn't slide. I was unable to break the frozen bolt loose. The one pad that was metal to metal was NOT on the frozen caliper. I can change pads and have rotors turned, but when it comes time to replace calipers and bleed lines that's above my comfort level. I called Phil's and told him I thought I had a bad caliper. He told me Toyota calipers seldom go bad and he and his guys could possibly get the frozen bolt loose and have our vehicle back on the road. Phil called a few hours after I dropped the vehicle off and conveyed to me both calipers were malfunctioning and he recommended replacing them as it would be less expensive to replace than rebuild. I figured both were bad when I took it there. I really appreciated he and his guys trying to repair things and not just start off with recommending replacement. I had a fairly good idea what was wrong and when he called me 3 hours after I dropped it off it was refreshing to hear a mechanic give me a no BS analysis of what was wrong and what needed fixing. Three hours trying to salvage existing parts then replacing both calipers, one rotor and two sets of pads, out the door for $385, was more than fair in my opinion. I value doing business with honest people and honest businesses. Phil's is where I will have all my vehicle repairs done in the future

    Lube Shop
Parked outside the business 5 minutes before they opened. Owner came outside and communicated to me it would be a few minutes before they opened. Shop opened on time. Three workers worked above ground and one worked under the vehicle. I both read my kindle and watched them work. Entire mini-van interior was vacuumed. All windows were washed. Tire pressure was checked. Power steering checked and topped off. Brake fluid checked and topped off. Windshield wiper fluid checked and filled. Coolant checked. Freon checked for temperature. Battery inspected. Air filter removed, vacuumed, inspected and replaced.  The price of $51.89 is very reasonable and comparable to what other places charge for a full service synthetic oil change. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Exactly what I am looking for in a full service lube and oil change. No need for me to look else ware for oil changes. Fast, thorough and honest. What else is there?

    Boise Muffler
Contacted business by phone for price quote. Price was best in the area. Entire service took approximately 90 minutes. Manager even completed the extended warranty paperwork and submitted it to the muffler manufacturer. System improved performance of vehicle. More power and better fuel economy. Will send all my friends and relatives there.

    Walmart - Caldwell
Requested and paid for a full service oil change with synthetic oil. Services to be provided were check fluid levels, wash windshield, vacuumed interior floors, change oil/filter and lube chassis. Parked vehicle at 10:53 am, vehicle done at 11:05 (12 minutes). At checkout cashier states no grease was added to zerk fittings as the tech stated the grease in the fittings are full. (WTH???). The cashier continued by stating if the tech added grease he would have damaged the seals. I conveyed to him I though it was a line of garbage and chose to not have them touch my vehicle again. I have had good success at other Wal-Marts in the Boise area, not this one. I returned to my residence and lubed the 13 fittings in the front of my truck with approximately 4 ounces of grease. Anyone who has ever service a vehicle knows generally if there is a zerk fitting on the front of a vehicle it should get a shot of fresh grease when changing the motor oil. Yes there are exception to this but not in this case. The zercs on my vehicle hadn't been touched in 5000 miles/10 Months. The exterior grease was dried-out and the internal area behind the zercs gladly accepted new fresh grease. No grease flowed out of the rubber boots. Not sure how a tech checked the grease areas that didn't have a rubber containment boot. Contacted the store manager and was offered a $20 Wal-Mart card. It would have taken $8 in gas to go get it. Decided to spend my time warning others.

    Encore Auto Repair & Sales
I had an oil leak.  Encore was recommended by a friend. Greg was very friendly and professional on the phone.  They were able to inspect my car when I requested and called promptly to report the problem and quote a price.  The work done has fixed the problem.  I dont know a lot about cars, so I don't know if everything was required or not.  I'm also not certain if the price was reasonable for all the work done.  However, I would go to them again simply b/c of the quickness of service and response.  We were also able to get the car after hours with no problem.

Noise was identified and a plan of action was recommended.  The car was schedule in and the service was done.  The results were as promised and the noise is gone.  The results were excellent.

I had an appointment first thing in the morning at Boise Auto Clinic to have a full set of shocks installed that I had purchased elsewhere and my vehicle was in the bay within ten minutes of arrival.
I was back on the road in about 90 minutes.
The shocks I purchased were recommended to me by one of Mark's staff and they were not disturbed at all when I chose to buy them elsewhere, they were happy to do the install.
If you can dig up the correct parts yourself, they have no problem doing the install and getting you back on the road. They are not h*** bent to get you to buy the parts from them like so many other repair shops.

Mark and his staff do good work at a reasonable price, most of all they are honest which is not something you can say about every Auto repair shop and their price usually comes in under what other shops quote for the same work.
I saved between $20 and $60 by having Boise Auto Clinic do the work as opposed to the two other places that gave me quotes.

I have had them take care of a leaking intake manifold gasket, replace a dead water pump, timing belt, thermostat, starter, battery, etc.
I have always been pleased with the service that's why whenever I have an issue with a vehicle.......that's where I go.
When something works you stick with it and these days it's difficult to find reliable services.
