Mountain View Hospital - Idaho Falls
I had a c-section in 2011 and was very pleased with the staff and facilities. When my son had his tonsils out in 2013, it was done at Mountain View and we were again very pleased with the staff. They kept us well informed the entire time and brought us everything we needed after the surgery. they went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of.

    Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center
It all started out with me taking my 9 month old son to his pediatrician for severe diarrhea. The doctor's office checked my son's water levels and determined that the diarrhea was so severe, he was extremely dehydrated and had to be taken to the hospital to have an IV done to get his water levels back up. When we arrived at the hospital the nurses and other staff were quick to get us into a room to do the IV. It was definitely not a pleasant experience watching my baby have an IV inserted, but the nurses did an excellent job at getting it in. Every nurse that we had was so friendly and seemed genuinely concerned for my son's well being. We stayed overnight until my son's hydration levels went back up and his stool sample culture was completed. The doctor came to our room in the morning and told me that there was no bacterial or parasitic infection found in the stool culture. That meant that my son just a bad viral infection causing gastroenteritis (stomach flu). The doctor advised me to give my son plenty of fluids and to also add in some probiotics to my son's food. After that we left and after following doctor's orders, my son got better within a few days.

    Blue Cross of Idaho
I have been using Blue Cross for almost one year now. The premiums are fairly priced, but honestly, I think that has more to do with how much my employer pays. I have found the deductibles to be a bit high, and the prescription coverage is lousy. However, the fact that they reimburse providers at a higher rate than a lot of other insurers means that I have never been turned away from a provider due to my insurance company. That is saying a lot, as my previous insurer, TRI-Care, had made it almost impossible to find medical providers and specialists when needed. They also pay my providers promptly, and generally without extra effort on my part.
BC of Idaho has a nice web-site where I can view my claims, and make some changes to my and quot;accountand quot; or information. However, I have had difficulty getting questions answered on the web site and it seems like the information available on the site is massive, but never quite what I need. All in all, though, BC has been a pretty good company to work with.

I took my child in for breathing problems in the middle of the night. He was having trouble breathing and he was showing retraction in his ribs. We went to the emergency department, where we quickly saw a doctor who ordered a breathing treatment with a respiratory therapist. The therapist showed up quickly, gave the treatment, and we were on our way. Sadly, although they treated my son quickly, they did not gather any of my information, so I never received a bill. I decided to be honest so I called the billing department and attempted to give them my information. They told me to call back in a few days after we were in their system. Of course I forgot because I am busy and then finally about a year later I remembered we had never paid the bill so I called again. We finally got the bill and the insurance worked out, but I think they were pretty sloppy not to have taken my information and then turned me away rather than collecting it the next day and entering it themselves later.

    BLUE CROSS OF IDAHO
Overall, Blue Cross is neither the worst nor the best insurance company I have dealt with. I have had an occasional frustration, such as the coverage for well child exams. The benefits book says newborns to age 12 months receive $600 per benefit period for well child exams. Ages 12 months and up only get My daughter started the benefit period at 8 months, but they did not give us $600 for the benefit year.

    BLUE CROSS OF IDAHO
I wasn't on hold for very long, which is a plus! After walking through a rather lengthy history from an accident, the rep was able to clarify some coverages that had been in question. The rep was knowledgeable and courteous. We were able to clarify exactly what insurance would be responsible for what.

    Blue Cross Of Idaho
Our experience with Blue Cross of Idaho has been great so far. They are very fast in paying on claims and sending us the explanation of benefits. We have not had to appeal any claims or had any problems.

    Blue Cross Of Idaho
Overall I am happy with this company. As with every insurance company it seems the rate are really high for the coverage we get. I never have to wait long when I call and they have always helped answer questions.

Mountain View Hospital - Idaho Falls
Everyone was nice and friendly but it took a long time for the nurses to respond to my call light at times. Billing was not streamline and a little confusing. There is not a lot of leeway if you can't pay right away. Not a full service hospital, more like a surgical center because they have no emergency services. Ok for what they do though. Nice and clean. It would have been nice to have a full service cafeteria for my visiting family, the vending machines get old fast. Other than that things were ok.

    Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center
The room was tiny, the food was abominable, the nurses were often float nurses from another floor so they often had no idea how to administer care. This was frustrating because although I knew they were busy - we're still paying top dollar for subpar care. The nurses also disagreed with the doctor's plan, and instead of talking to him, they would complain to me. It was very frustrating. Overall, it was an acceptable experience, but nothing fantastic. I was starving the whole week because their food was nutritionally lacking (iceberg lettuce for the vegetable?!) and nasty to taste.
