Western Heating & Air Conditioning Inc
I received a text with a picture of the technician before he arrived. This was great because I knew who was coming to my home and exactly when to expect him. The technician was on time and explained everything as he went through the process of servicing my air conditioner and changing the filter. He was very polite and professional.

Western showed up when they said they would. They did exactly what they said they would do. On the first day they replaced the furnace, added the air compressor for the A/C and had electricians run the circuit for the A/C. All work was done in a professional manner, everyone wore booties to protect our carpeting, and we had heat that night as they promised. On day two they ripped out all of our old ductwork (non insulated ducting that was falling down and leaking) and replaced it with new insulated ductwork. They also installed a new thermostat and added a carbon monoxide detector per code. Western's bid was substantially lower than their competitors' for a new Carrier system!

Very well. During the routine annual furnace service he noticed, photographed, documented, and investigated a problem with my air conditioner. He answered all my questions regarding options for extending or replacing the A/C unit. I would not have known there was an issue as it was only observable in the crawl space.

It was excellent. They are VERY communicative and did not hesitate to rescheduled to fit my needs. The installers listened to my concerns and did the work the way I wanted it done. They were fast and knowledgable.

Services performed as paid for Scheduling snafu, would have missed the tech if I didn't happen to be working from home, sick with a cold. Grateful he had spare filters for my furnace I could purchase at time of service.

    Perfect Plumbing, Heating and Air
They wanted over $400 to clear out the drain line, but I balked after which they offered that if I subscribed to an annual maintenance plan they'd do it for $99, plus $238 for plan. Fine, it gets me seasonal maintenance check-ups and priority scheduling. They did the work, but it still leaked, so I had them out again. They responded promptly and we've had no problems since. On a plan, drain line cleaning is $99, so no justification at all for a $400+ estimate for a drain line run of maybe 20 feet. Asked for quote to replace A/C and furnace system, and got the same feeling of trying to "sell up." When we asked too many questions about system they recommended, we stopped hearing back with promised answers and info. That's too bad b/c we thought it was close to an ok price, but just weren't convinced we needed the system as proposed. They also seemed surprised that we intended to get more estimates. I called on Nov 10 to schedule an annual furnace maintenance visit as part of my plan, and my "priority placement" got me an appointment for Dec 27, albeit with a promise to try to fit me in on a cancellation. The individual techs were all professional and polite, and they resolved the problem. As a plus, a newly hired electrician who came on the original call offered to address an electrical issue I might have since he was here and couldn't really help with the drain line issue. I thought that was smart and mindful of appearances since customers don't like to have service techs standing around. He replaced a 3-way dimmer ... much appreciated.

Dusty was very professional and on time. He had several suggestions regarding the air conditioner but was not pushy or trying to sell us any thing. We will continue to use Western Heating and Cooling.

    Jim's Heating & Cooling
Boise, ID. Friday am: 103 outside, 83 inside with toddler at home! Called 4+ companies who were all unable to come until Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of next week (3-5 days possibly w/ no ac, and w/ temps forecasted into 100+ degrees each day). With a toddler in our household we needed same day service...immediately! Jim's Heating and Cooling was the only service who dispatched their tech guy for our area and asked if he would be willing to work us in today. The tech showed up within hours! I first noticed it being warmer than usual around 8a, at that point there was cooler air coming from the registers, not as cool as it usually was, but by no means was it warm air..so I kept the ac on (and please know I am a stay at home mom with absolutely no inclinations for electrical or mechanical issues or maintenance...and probably lack a bit of common sense as you continue to read this!) The temp in the house continued to climb, at this point I turned the ac off. I randomlly went outside to the unit and saw the fan blade was not rotating, and the noise from the unit was not the usual hum/buzz that I knew. As I mentioned the tech showed up a few hours after I had turned the ac off. After describing this all to the tech he knew immediately it was the capicitator needing to be replaced. He had it replaced within 10 minutes. He then sprayed water in and around the outside unit. He told me that it's a good idea to hose your outside unit off in order to clean out any debris and to keep the blades freely moving. Once the part was replaced he said that running the water will cool the outside unit to the temp at or below what the controlling unit inside was set to, and that in turn should trigger the unit to start up and the fan will again begin to rotate as usual. It took about 10+ minutes of running the water on the outside unit for it to kick on. Immediately cool air began to flow through the registers. The tech said if I had left the ac on this entire time with the fan outside not running, I could have easily fried the whole outside unit and it would have needed to been replaced. I honestly would have paid anything for the ac to have been fixed at these temperatures and with a toddler at home....especially for same day service when all other companies would have left us with no service for days. And by the point the other companies would have made it to my house, and not knowing that running the ac as it was, I would have burnt out the unit for sure and needed a whole new ac!! My family was so so thankful to Jim's Heating and Cooling! Boise, ID call Jim's!

The service technician (Sean B.) was there on time and was very friendly and professional. He got the work done quickly and efficiently. He discovered a low level of refrigerant and explained to us the possible causes of the problem, and our options for addressing it. His explanations were through and understandable, and gave us the pros and cons of each option. While he gave us a recommendation, he did not try to steer us into any particular option, he left it up to us. We are very satisfied. We have been with Western Heating for a number of years and they always treat us well.

Good. They showed up on time and worked in the cold to remove the original furnace and air conditioner and install new ones. Since it took two days, they provided space heaters to help keep the house warm. The only thing that we do not like is the system is louder than the original system so they came back and adjusted the air flow. It helped a little bit but it is still louder.
