Flooring reviews in Garden City

Talented worker who took on every aspect of the job as it unfolded. Included wall repair, new flooring and finish work. Showed respect for property. Kept work area clean and disruption to a minimum. Finished job was perfect. Overall professionalism and ability to complete complex construction project very high. Highly recommend.

We took a 4 by 6 foot oriental rug with natural dyes  to be cleaned.
Expensive hand knotted wool and cotton Turkish (Hereke) rug.
Prior to giving the rug to them they assured us they had the experience and knowledge to clean the rug with care.
It took us about 6 months to get this carpet back. When we unrolled the carpet we found the colors had run onto the white fringe and discolored the fringe in large patches.  The cleaners promised us they could get the stain out.  When we got it back the second time it was clear that the fringe was damaged.  Instead of being a soft fringe, it was hardened and brittle.  Rather than have them ruin it more we just accepted as a bad experience.
I am writing now because the fringe has deteriorated further and is falling out.   The$5000 carpet is definitely ruined and we have not pursued it further since their previous promises did not work out.
Do no use this company for hand knotted or hand dyed carpets.   I am writing this hopefully as a warning to any one else looking for this specialized cleaning service.

    A-Max Hardwood Floors Inc
Overall the experience was very positive.    They worked with our schedule and the results were great.  However, having seen negative reviews about dust, I asked if they could do anything to limit the amount.  They indicated there would be no dust. due to new vacuums etc.   That was unfortunately not true.  There was a fair amount of dust everywhere.   I would still use them again.  I would just cover things better to reduce the mess.

Job well done.  Event though it is "just" a Laundry Room, it looks beautiful and we are happy.  Dustin was able to start the day after we called him to tell him he had the job.  He was always on time and when he was running late he would text such to give us notice. He was not the lowest bid.  However, he seemed more and it turns out he was very knowledgeable about tile and tile installation.

Pedro said he would need two days to complete the job. He came with his helper and left after a half day to complete the project when the tile was settled the next a.m. The project was completed to our full satisfaction. The construction is solid and the tile is beautifully laid in the adjacent shower step area. Replacement of the tile and underlay in the shower window is perfect. My wife is a perfectionist and she is quite pleased with Pedro, his helper and the work. That says it all.

We had a difficult time dealing with our assigned representative. Initially, they were responsive and relatively punctual. They replaced the hardwood within a couple months of the leak. Unfortunately, for some reason, not enough hardwood was provided for the job. This was obvious to us when we noticed multiple short boards (and lt;12inches) were placed in the floors including one section of flooring with a four-time repeating pattern of 1 foot boards. We were initially told by the representative that this was deemed adequate by industry standards. He eventually backed down and agreed that this was not acceptable and agreed to individually pull out pieces and replace with longer pieces. We insisted that they take the worst section of the floor out and replace it properly, so eventually they ordered more wood and installed it better. Later when they came to seal the floors, we were told it would take two days and we would need to be in a hotel for 2 night. Unfortunately on thursday, they arrived markedly late so they only were able to seal one coat on Friday, we moved back into the house over the long holiday weekend and then needed to be out on Tuesday again (an additional hotel cost). Although, we didn't really spend much time on the recently sealed floor, when the put the 2nd coat on, it became obvious that they didn't clean the floor prior to the 2nd coat. We could see multiple places with dirt and hair under the sealant. Plus there was a section with bubbling in the dining room. Again the representative stated that this was to and quot;industry standards.and quot; The director of the flooring division agreed with us that it was unacceptable and that they would fix it. So, 2 weeks later, they came back and sanded and sealed it again with slightly better results.
Throughout the long process, the representative became markedly less responsive to questions and concerns. In fact, by the end, he would not respond to our phone calls. We eventually got worn down with the process and decided that despite the imperfections of the floor, we couldn't deal with it anymore. Ours was an insurance claim, so perhaps they do competent work if it isn't an insurance claim. Regardless, we will never use them for any service in our house. Ironically, we recently completed a $20,000 laundry/mud room remodel of our house and we are planning on remodeling 4 full bathrooms in the next year. If Dillabaugh's had done quality w work, they would have easily gotten our business.

Northwest Total Home Inc. was here when they said they would be. They finished it when they said they would. I was very happy with their installation. I would absolutely plan to use them in the future.

    CK Rogers Design Build Remodel
From the start CK Rogers was the best.  The response time for the
original walk through was withing the hour.  Once we completed the
process of design (we did our own) and determining details, they showed
up on time, performed the work expediently and cleaned up immediately.
Every person, from the sales agent, the project manager, laborers and
subs was top notch and very professional.  While a bit pricey (but that
is probably more due to not wanting to spend the money) it was worth
every penny.  I would highly recommend CK Rogers to anyone in the Boise
area looking for either a new build or a remodel.

The floor was installed very poorly and had to be replaced. Most people who saw it, including one of their employees, said that they were shocked with how poorly it was laid. There were wide gaps between the boards and they were installed unevenly. They tried to fill the gaps with glue and left a mess all over the boards. Eventually they did reinstall the floor but before they took care of the job they made us jump through hoops and made us feel like it was somehow our fault. We were really inconvenienced by this poorly done work and since we had to deal with the mess and dust of having the work done twice. They never apologized for the mistake and we felt like they thought we had done something wrong. We understand that sometimes people make mistakes but they did not handle the problem correctly. The second set of installers they sent worked really hard and did a good job, but they didn't have the exact flooring we ordered, so now we don't have hardwood that is nearly as attractive.

    Handyman Connection
All the work was well done.  I am pleased with the quality of it.  The workers were polite and competent.  I had a myriad of small maintenance and repairs to be done, and they got done.  I also decided to put down new flooring, and had Handyman Connection do that.  The work was meticulously done, and I love the new floor; I changed from carpet to hard surface.

I had problems with some of the work done within the year after the work was done.  The business had closed, although I think that the owner personally felt committed to take care of problems.  I am very disappointed when a business I have a guarantee with goes out of business.  The owner did eventually respond to my calls and had the problem I was able to report to her taken care of.
