Good. Brent was professional, knowledgeable. Only glitch was their scheduling program/e-mail... sent three different times for one appointment. But it got straightened out, so no mix-up.

The owner, Sean, was prompt regarding the initial assessment visit and price estimate. Two men (JT and Matt) were sent out to do this work. Took approximately 3 days to complete (a total of about 15 hours). They were very professional and communicated well regarding the work needing to be done as they pulled old tile off of the floor and wall to make the necessary and appropriate repair. They were very thoughtful regarding the project, kept the area cleaned up at the end of each work day, and the work completed was of EXCELLENT quality! Highly recommend.

Professional, explained everything, cleaned up after their own mess which is HUGE with me.  Very conscientious of safety for children and pets, always made sure work site was secure, hardware picked up, tools put away and unplugged, and areas where working cordoned off.

    Cheaper Sweeper
Leon did a wonderful job. He was friendly, knew what he was doing and followed up on his repairs. I could not have done a better job myself. Will use him in the future and reccomend him to my friends. Also my daughter likes his hat!

They were very easy to work with as well. The promptness is a little different when you are with the construction people because they all have existing jobs.  What I found when they started was that they were prompt. The only delay was when we had rain when the concrete was being poured. I felt that he gave me a really good idea of when he was coming and once he started coming he stayed with us and did not disappear at all. I’m wondering if this is a fairly small business as they work by referrals. They may not be doing a lot of advertising. They do a lot of work in this area of about 50-60 miles.

I had a chimney that had many loose bricks and needed repaired. He went up on the roof and saw that the bricks themselves were in very poor condition and consulted with me on making a chimney cover thereby stopping the decay and allowing me to have a nice looking and working chimney. I said do it and he went a fabricated one from scratch. He and his son were very professional and nice to work with.

Like most contractors in the area, they are usually busy (they don't keep a squad of repairmen, installers in a back room waiting to be called out) When they are available they are capable of very fine work at reasonable prices. My gas line install is nearly invisible and used only the highest quality materials, even impressed the building inspector. The furnace and AC install went great, the house is now efficiently (and inexpensively) cooled and heated, the crumbling 80 year old chimney is beautifully repaired. These guys do a good job and their prices are comparable to others.

I called them and they said they did not come because they could not contact us. They told us they tried to contact us, but there is no evidence they did. When I called them back they were rude and had more business than they needed so they could not reschedule.

Shortly after the work was done, we were very disappointed with the paint job--we could still see the water damage in two of the rooms.  We didn't expect the paint to match exactly, but the repair was very sloppily and hastily done.  We complained and the painter (who had also worked on the roof) came out and worked on it some more, but the problem didn't get fixed (and we are not super fussy).  I got the feeling the painter-guy didn't really know what he was doing.  So, we were worried about what had been done on the roof, but are not able to get on the roof ourselves.  Last week, when the chimney sweep was up there, he took pictures for us and checked out the work done on the chimney.  It looks like someone just slopped around some mortar, and not very neatly.  The sweep says he doesn't think the repair solves the leak problem, either. They (contractor and helpers) did show up when they said they would & came out when we complained about the paint job, so that part was OK. But given how much we paid, we feel ripped-off & are worried we will end up having to pay someone else to clean up and re-do the chimney work, at least, and perhaps the roof work, if an inspection shows we need it. In defense of the contractor (aka A-1 Roofing and Leak Repair), he had suffered a serious arm injury shortly after he did the bid and couldn't do the work himself--he couldn't even get up on the roof to check the work.  After the sweep's report, I called him and he seemed open to fixing the problem.  I emailed the "after" pictures, but perhaps he didn't get them or is very busy--it's been less than a week since I called. So, the story isn't complete yet.  We liked the contractor (Mark Pitman) and he seems to have a lot of roofing experience.  I did not get a great feeling of professionalism from the man who actually did the work, although he was very pleasant.  If things get resolved (or don't), we will change the review accordingly.
