  • Stamping job was poorly done, so poorly that they had to tear out the front walkway and redo it because even Dustin could not deny how sloppy it was. He felt like that was enough even though the stamping in the back was rough and barely even there in some places. There was a six inch gouge in one prominent spot where someone scratched the wet cement. There are dips in the level of the concrete that retain water. There is a spot where it looks like they broke a corner off when they removed the mold and so the aggregate is exposed on the surface there in stark contrast to the stained concrete nearby. In other places they scratched out the pattern because he said it is too hard to get close to the wall, he always had an excuse for the bad craftsman ship but what it comes down to it that the work was not well executed. On top of that he went out of his way to try to say I just did not understand the complexities of the concrete business, like I have never seen finished concrete before. He also kept trying to pretend like sealing it would magically make the bad work disappear, as opposed to sealing them in so I had no options for fixing it. In the end the plain concrete was fine but do not trust him to do any stamping, his work is not reliable. This was extra frustration because he was 1000 more than the other bid I got and I thought that by going with the pricier option I would avoid a mess like this.

  • Dustin and Dave came out the next day to begin the work. Dustin had other jobs going on so Dave was left on his own to finish the job. I couldn't be more pleased. Dave is a true craftsman. The quality of his work is superior. He even made sure the flowerbed that had to be disturbed was put back the way it was. Every day he made sure there was no mess left behind, ever. He was friendly and polite and one of the most hard working men I have ever met. I highly recommend this company.

  • Outstanding! Very impressed with Ray's attention to detail as well as helping me understand what I needed. The pad was square, level, flat, and smooth! Well done! It made building the shed so much easier. Ray was courteous, kind, communicative, professional and skilled. I will definitely use him again!

  • Barry's professionalism is remarkable.  When we agreed on the project he told me that he was booked out about a month.  During that month he kept me informed on the progress of projects that he had to complete before starting mine.  He had to deal with some adverse weather issues but still managed to start my project on time.  The work was outstanding.  The fence lines are as straight and smooth as you can image.  And the price, slightly below all of the other estimates that I received.  I would definitely hire Barry again and I recommend him to anyone that needs a fence.  You won't be disappointed.

  • After reviewing Angie's List, I left a message on the phone to A-1 and the owner called that evening. I explained the project and their estimator came the next day and gave a written bid. He explained what they do and we discussed that I wanted 4and quot; compacted road mix and 4and quot; of concrete with wire mesh fencing. They also drill rebar in the adjacent concrete to stabilize the union. Bernnie was very professional and helpful. The company was about 2.5-3 weeks out and we arranged a time as we approached that time frame. They said they would be here on a Tuesday afternoon or a Wed. morning. Two workers arrived Wed morning. I had previously contacted DigLine and the underground gas line was marked out. I explained that I had a sprinkler line under the slab of concrete and he needed to lift it slowly to protect the line as it was the only way to get water to the other side of the driveway. His response was to lift the slab abruptly 2 feet and crease the PVC pipe and then to come in the other way and crush the pipe. I was able to cut off the pipe and use the first couple of feet of pipe. I covered the end of the pipe and marked the position of the pipe so he did not drive over it. He subsequently bent the end again a couple days later. His use of the Bobcat was totally unprofessional with jerking around the turns so it jumped in the air to doing fast pull aways with the front end rising up for two foot wheelies. The scariest part was that he would back up quickly with other workers behind him for 10-15 feet without so much as looking behind him. Later that day I smelled gas in my house and went immediately outside to find that another worker had severed the buried gas line and was kneeling over it with the line bent to prevent gas from leaking. I called Intermountain Gas and they sent a technician out who arrived in about 20 minuted and was able to repair the line with a splice in about 20 minutes. He also came in and relit my gas appliances. The response of the workers was that the gas lines should be at least 24and quot; below the surface. (Except when it isn't). The gas lines was put in after the previous concrete was in place by burrowing under the concrete by Intermountain Gas. The line was only a couple of inches under the compacted dirt. However they are required to dig by shovel within two feet either side of the marked line. They should have dug a couple 12and quot; test holes on the line to check, as they needed to excavate only about 10and quot; of dirt. The next day the worker said they couldn't do any work around the gas line and I had to have Intermountain Gas come out and replace the gas line at a three foot depth. This simply wasn't going to happen. They simply just had to excavate along each side of the line since we could see where the pipe was. I then had to call the owner and explain this. He then came over in about 20-30 minutes. During that time I noticed that the worker had previously damaged the side of my garage by backing the Bobcat into it and breaking and pushing the siding in about 3 inches. The owner arrived and I explained the unsafe and unprofessional driving of the worker and his damage to my garage which he didn't report to me. The owner explained that they had a handy man who would fix the damage and that his worker would be and quot;written upand quot; what ever that means. The next couple of days were exhausting with the inability of the worker to get the forms correct with the proper slope. He had a lasar leveling tripod but he never used it and never did any measurements. I had to get my own laser out and put it on a level to repeatedly show him that he remained 2' above level instead of two inches below level for proper drainage. On the third afternoon, Friday, another worker named Brady arrived. He actually made some measurements and was directive to the other worker about what had to be done. The original worker said he would come Saturday to finish the excavation so they could pour on Monday. Saturday came and went and he no showed. I had stayed at home expecting his arrival. Saturday evening I called the owner to explain that he didn't show and there was no way they could pour on Monday as they were not ready. Come Monday, I asked why he didn't show and he said someone else was supposed to come over. Rediculous. At that point I told him he had to get the slope right for the other half of the driveway and showed him with my laser. Now he is mad and has to remove the forms to reexcivate and is throwing the stakes and kicking the forms. At this point I have decided to call the owner and end this job.
At this point a miracle happened and Brady returned to check out the progress. I explained the remaining problems and he promply got out the leveling laser and instructed the worker on what to do to get the excavation correct. I asked him to show me the leveling results at the remaining locations. He did this promptly and cheerfully. To me a professional worker is happy to show you what they are doing as it shows they know their stuff and it's reassuring to the customer. The rest of the day went well with proper placement of the forms and with removing some of the road mix to get the full 4and quot; of concrete. Brady took the time to make all the measurements. The base was then compacted. The next day, Brady and 3-4 others arrived ahead of the cement truck to look over the project. Wire mesh was placed. The concrete pour went very well. They were good to keep lifting the mesh as the concrete was poured. They were finished pouring in about 3 hours which surprised me. It was about 22 yards. Another worker was Matt who did a lot of the finishing. The next day Matt returned and did the cement cuts. The pattern was measured out and marked with chalk lines and the cuts were perfect. He also took a lot of time with clean up. The finished job was excellent. I had to leave town in the next couple days and asked Lori, who worked in the office, if they wanted me to send a check for the total minus a $500 holdback until the garage was repaired or if he wanted to adjust the bill down by a couple hundred dollars and I would repair the damaged wall myself. Lori promptly replied the next morning that they would adjust the bill down by #333.00. I thought that was very fair and we settled the issue. The beginning of the project was a nightmare but once Brady stayed on the job, it all went well. I have learned a lot with this project, and I hope the company did also regarding supervision and training of new employees. I would use this company again if assured that Brady was supervising or doing the job. Matt was also an excellent employee. Good workers are a pleasure to deal with. Their price were very reasonable and the project turned out excellent. If the evaluation above was based only on Brady and Matt, I would have given all A.

  • AWESOME! A1 was responsive from the first call for a bid, to the last step to seal the patio. As concrete work goes, the weather always impacts supply and scheduling. A1 did an excellent job communicating the fine details as the pour date neared. Employees took care to minimize impact of machinery on the lawn and sprinklers, cleaned up after themselves, and were extremely polite and personable. We even found an existing slab under the deck, that I did not know was there. A1 removed it, no questions asked, and at no additional cost! The quality of work is amazing and everything done on time! I have two more concrete projects I hope to have done during the next year, and I will DEFINITELY USE A1 for all my future concrete work. A1 delivered everything they promised for the price quoted. Thanks A1!!!!

  • .BJ and crew came out on a Sunday, when the problem happened, to give the estimate and had us back in business by Wed. that week.
That quick response saved me big problems, with cold weather coming on.  Over all, the experience has been great!

  • I was very please with the speedy professional service I received. The other door companies I contact told me it would be a couple of days before they could send someone out to look at my door. I would recommend them to other people.

  • The company did replace the part of the garage door and actually fixed something else I didn't noticed. The slider or track was bent out of shape. They easily corrected that as well.
