    Arbor Care
"Update 9 months later: I wrote a nice review of Arbor Care, but unfortunately I have to revise it due to something I learned half a year later about the work they didnt actually do. Part of the total cost for our job included grinding out two stumps (18 below grade by my understanding), $50 per stump. With one of the stumps, we discovered 6 months later that Arbor Care only ground it only a few inches below grade to make it look like the job had been completed. We only found out when an excavator ran into the stump doing some other work (see attached photos). The stump was a huge hassle and extra money to remove. I spoke with Jason (Arbor Care owner) and asked him about the situation. He acted surprised, saying stump was supposed to have been ground 18 below grade, and he said hed be happy to make it right and reimburse me for the stump grinding. Unfortunately, I never heard from him after that. Suffice it to say, I can no longer recommend Arbor Care." Arbor Care did a great job. The first tree service we talked to looked at our new backyard and recommended taking out all four trees (which are admittedly in unideal and/or problematic locations) and starting over; that work would have included dropping the power lines to our house and our neighbor's house and a big price tag--$4000-$5000. Jason, by contrast, looked at the trees and saw something that was workable / salvageable. . . . He and his crew ended up removing one a big black walnut tree that had to go unfortunately, and they cleaned up some of the other trees to make them safer and less precarious. And they were able to do the work without needing the power company to drop anyone's power lines.

    Boise Tree
Before calling Boise Tree, I had received several other estimates and wasnt impressed by the people providing quotes, nor the knowledge they had. When Sean, the owner of Boise Tree came to my house to discuss the job, I was surprised at how friendly, knowledgeable and well versed he was (I now know that my tree is an Amur Maple). I told him what I wanted to be done and he made suggestions about what he thought should be done and how to do it. We agreed on a price and his crew was on the job within a couple of weeks. The crew worked quickly and were very sharp looking and professional. After the crew left, the yard was clear of all debris and I had a beautifully pruned tree to admire. I will continue to use Boise Tree to care for my trees and recommend them to my family and friends.

    Parker Tree Service Inc
A recent snowfall caused an already-leaning tree to lean even more - something of an emergency. Parker Tree Service were able to come out within a couple days to provide an estimate. They were then able to come back a couple days later and cut the tree down. No piles of sawdust left behind - very neat and tidy.

    Tree Greens
The best thing I can say about the service is that he did not take down any fences. There was a medium size tree in the corner of the yard which was cut down (no stump grinding) and cut into mostly reasonably sized logs. However, he "cleared" the area but chainsawing down the raspberry bushes several feet away. There was no communication that these would be removed. Then he was schedule to remove 12 poplar trees along the back of the property. When I counted and only 7 were removed, he agreed to go back and take out more. When he said he finished, I paid him. Then my mistake that I didn't check before he left and found out he removed a 3 year old apple tree that was not near the popular trees. If I had to do it over again, I would mark every tree that he was to remove. A tree expert should know a poplar from an apple tree and now I have to buy replacement. Additionally, paid $50 in 'clean up fee' as he was to cut those poplar into 6 foot sections. None of the back trees were cut into pieces- only felled to the ground and left where they landed. Feels like that cleanup fee was bogus.

    Boise Tree
I needed some serious remediation for landscaping that was outdated, high maintenance, and had grown out of control over the summer. I decided I wanted to tear it all out and start over next year with low-maintenance native grasses. I had solicited a few bids and was shocked by the cost of some and disappointed by the non-responsiveness of others. Driving home one evening I saw a clean-cut crew removing a large tree from a front yard in our neighborhood. I stopped and was immediately greeted by Shawn McInerny of Boise Tree Company, who gave me his card and said he would stop by to survey my yard and email me a bid. The next morning (!) I received an itemized bid from Sean that came in at half the price of another landscapers bid and included the removal of 4 large black locust trees and pruning of two others that alone would have far exceeded the cost of Seans entire bid if performed by other tree companies. Sean and his crew of clean-cut, hardworking young men showed up exactly on time and had completed the large project by the time I returned home from work. Sean even followed up with an email letting me know the job was done and requesting permission to do some other work he had missed in his original bid *at no additional cost*. I cannot say enough about the professionalism of Sean and his entire crew. You will not be disappointed. Sean McInerney Owner Boise Tree Company 208-473-8223 [*** Link removed ***]

They were AWESOME! Showed up to perform quote. They were very professional and competitively priced with the necessary issuance. When selected, was able to schedule service within couple of weeks. Showed up as scheduled with the necessary equipment. Completed the job quickly. Left the job site in great condition. I would recommend them over and over.

We were so excited to find Habiscapes for our backyard paver project. Michael Wiegand came on site in one day's notice to review our space and listen to our ideas. While he provided excellent design options, he didn't try to change our plan or give us something beyond our scope. He gave us catalogs to review so we could see photos and select the stone products that would work for our space. We knew we wanted to award Habiscapes the job, as it was clear Michael and his team were experienced and educated in every facet of landscaping, from plant selection to stonework and water features. Once we hired Habiscapes, Michael and his team of dedicated workers prepared the backyard area for a patio floor, a sitting area, and a propane fireplace. The workers arrived early as scheduled and removed existing plant materials and a large grapevine and arbor. The lawn was protected with wood planks before any equipment was brought in for dirt removal. Every phase of the project was planned, organized, and carried out with precision. They even removed some existing debris and concrete we had left in the yard from a DIY project--at no extra charge. The Habiscapes team worked tirelessly each day, and we were given plenty of options and feedback along the way. Michael kept us apprised of the progress and any changes that could possibly affect the bid, and his Foreman, James, was engaged and informative for every task. Michael is down to earth, competitive, and has an amazing team of professionals working for him. We loved that Michael works as a hands-on manager--getting in with the guys to perform the work rather than telling them what to do. The project took only one week, and we are so pleased with the outcome. We have a beautiful, custom flagstone paver patio, a custom seating bench and wall, and a cozy and functional fireplace to enjoy. The entire experience was so positive, and we can't wait to have the team back to repair a stone wall and build a custom water feature for us. We highly recommend Habiscapes!

    Woolf Tree Service Inc.
I had a very large tree in bad shape and in need of work. The team at Woolf were perfect from start to finish. Even helped me talk with my neighbor about removing the limbs hanging over their property allowing the job to be done for less cost and faster results. I am very thankful for their help.

Chavco Tree & Landscape Services, Inc.
In EVERY aspect, Josh and his crew did a fantastic job for us. The trees in our backyard that were tweaked are beautiful and the large locust in the front was taken out, and the wood cut up for me for my wood burning at no extra cost. The crew was extremely friendly and their cleanup was so good you cannot tell they were even here. I'm not sure what else I can say other than I would give them a 10 star rating were it possible.

All in the Family Home and Lawn Care
did initial cleanup, scheduled return for "after leaves are finished falling;" did not do any of tree removal, did partial job on overhanging branch when I complained. Insisted on full payment, assuring me that they were "licensed." When I called to set date for return, they gave me a date, didn't show; this has repeated through dozens of calls, with a wide and imaginative array of excuses. Agreed to partial refund, but never made such. Agreed to clean gutters as apology for delays; never came did that, either. Finally, after tantrum on my part, they came in, raked some leaves into piles in my yard (they are still there...), let my dogs out, and quit returning calls. Has been 5 months without resolution
