Front staff at the Boise location is the opposite of the provider.  Very rude, combative and looking to argue with you from the moment you walk in.  Check in and Check out both have the most extreme attitudes I have ever experienced in a professional environment.  We have used this office multiple times over the past 18 months and the problem worsens with every visit.  I attempted to communicate with the office manager regarding these concerns and was transferred to a Sherri who could have cared less.  During the conversation she mentioned the final episode of mistreatment (at our appointment yesterday) as she had witnessed it yet had planned to do nothing about it.  If you want to use Dr. Harf's services only make appointments with the Nampa office located in the St. Alphonsus just off the interstate.   The staff in Nampa is courteous, organized and kind.

I was treated with all the consideration of what I would expect had I been a patient of Dr. Hollingshead for years.  The staff was friendly and efficient.  The atmosphere is lovely.  Dr. Hollingshead was patient, kind and professional.  I have been to several ophthalmologists over the years and I have never experienced better treatment.

I has cataract surgery which went just fine. He is a specialist in my area for anything that's beyond an average eye doctor. The doctor bedside manner is excellant. The staff are outstanding. They are very throu7gh. They measure thrree times before they cut.

It went great. I needed to have my right eye done and it could be done at any time. We scheduled the appointment to be done at the Eagle Eye Surgery on Eagle Road. It all went as planned. There was a bit of shuffling of my surgery date due to a transplant surgery that obviously superseded my do anytime surgery but the result was a better appointment time and all was well. The results were outstanding. I needed my other eye done the following year and it was handled equally well. Both offices, his and the surgery center are professional and courteous and the nursing staff are focused and know what they are doing. I ordered new glasses at his offices and was pleased to find that they are very reasonably priced and know their business. I recommended them to a friend who had Medicaare insurance requirements for glasses that were not able to be met by her own doctor. She went there the following day and had exactly the pair she needed at the price that was covered by her insurance company. I have subsequently needed laser treatment for my first eye (normal following cataract surgery for some people) and it was done in his office (although I could have had it done in the surgery center for more money). It cleared my vision and I am fine.
While I am too young for Medicare, his office has a steady stream of Medicare patients in the waiting room and I got the impression that the pricing structure for his office is very reasonable. His staff said his rates were probably the lowest in the valley. Considering how good a doctor he his, I'm pleased and surprised.

He is very professional. I really like him. I think he's very thorough. Everything is done in a very timely manner. The instructions regarding the post cataract surgery were excellent and things went without a hitch.

There's no doubt that Dr. Anderson is good at what he does. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable. But he's very quiet and will not engage in conversation hardly at all. He located the metal fragment right away and started to remove it, still without saying a word. As a concerned mother of a 16 year old I kind of wanted to know what was going on. I tried to be patient because I had already gotten the impression that he didn't like to talk...But finally I had to ask. "So... Do you see anything?" He said, "Yes, got it." And that was it... I don't think he said another word before he was done and walked out. I didn't think too much of it because he was seeing my son on short notice and fit us in despite a very busy schedule. The waiting room was full when we walked in, and we waited over an hour to be seen. I assumed he was just overworked. A few years later I needed an eye exam and went to Dr. Anderson. Again the waiting room was full and I waited almost an hour. He was not very friendly or talkative at all this time either. Any questions I asked were answered with very short usually yes or no answers. It's not that I expect a 'play by play' when I see a doctor. But it would be nice to know what's coming, especially when having such a delicate body part worked on like the eyes. For example, he came at me with those dilating eye drops... His only warning was, "Keep your eyes open." After a while his demeanor just started to make me uncomfortable. Like I said, Dr. Anderson is good at what he does... Just don't expect any sort of "chair side" manner out of him.

The administrative staff was excellent, very friendly. The technician that performed the eye tests, however, was snippy and rude. My wait for the doctor was long. By the time he arrived, he appeared rushed and limited for time. I finally had to interrupt him to ask my questions before he rushed from the room. All in all, I believe the time he spent with me was approximately 15 minutes. I receive more attention and ability to ask questions from my optometrist, whom I will be returning to from here on out.

From the first call to make an appointment, through our office visit(s), all of the staff were exteremely accomodating and friendly. My spouse had a very through exam and was happy to find out that they had his favorite frames on hand for purchase. So after completing the initial exam, his new pair of glasses arrived within one week. He went back for a very through and detailed fitting process and was informed to ensure that he monitored closely his adjustment process and if there were any issues, for him to come back promptly. He in fact did have some vision issues with the new pair of glasses that he recieved, so he returned back to the provider and they conducted a through investigation of what could be the cause of his blurred vision through these new optics. They discovered a small discprepancy with the location of the bifocal line, that was set too high and immediately sent these glasses back to the manufactor to redo the lenses. Much to our satisfaction, these new lenses and reframed glasses arrived in short order and my spouse is quite happy with the result and the customer service and support, as he had a bad experience with a former provider that would not fix an issue with a pair of sunglasses that he had purchased from them; hence the move to find a new provider, using a trusted information source (Angies List). So we are very happy we signed up for Angies referal services as we now have a very qualified and trusted eye care provider.

Even though cataract surgery is a very common procedure, there was never a moment that I felt my personal surgery was run of the mill or not as important as the exotic patients. The staff and surgeon at MapleGrove Eye Clinic and the surgical staff at Eagle Eye Surgical Center were all wonderful. My procedures went without a flaw, and I'm very pleased with the results. I was treated with respect, kindness and patience by everyone.

I waited 45 mins after my appointment time before I was called back. No one communicated any delays or apologized for the wait. Once I was called back the eye assistant performed your usually annual test and then I was sent back to the waiting room for another 30 mins to wait for the doctor. After finally being called back an assistant checked my vision/prescription and the doctor finally came back. He quickly just verified the prescription the assistant recommended and I was dismissed. Personally I expect more doctor involvement in my exam. I asked to pay at the time I left but they said they'd bill me for what insurance didn't cover. I also waited to check out. The bill arrived 6 months later. The whole appointment took over 2 hours for a simple annual exam. Overall disappointing experience, I will not return.
