A quick guide to garage doors

Hardware Store reviews in Boise

Avoid the Cole store like the plague! Ordered a 9'X16' garage door and it arrived damaged, WEEKS after it was supposed to. Ordered a gas range and refrigerator which showed up damaged. The gas range was dented at the leg so it was not useable and now have to wait weeks, upon the weeks my family has already gone without a stove, for the next one to show. Ordered two French exterior doors and guess what? You got it one is warped and now I have to file a claim, while there is a hole in the back of my house, for the manufacturer to come and look at it. The damaged fridge will just have to stay because I am afraid to return it! I talked to different people every time so there is no consistency, nobody has a direct line so you have to go through the switchboard, managers seem to always be gone.... I mean really what is going on with Lowes? I regret every dime of the 20K I've spent there on my remodel. Go to Home Depot, Franklin Building, or log the forest yourself and make your own lumber before you use this Lowes.

I ordered and paid for a new refrigerator and stove top at the Federal Way Home Depot. A day before both appliances were to be delivered, I received a phone call from a third party warehouse and delivery service (Crown) telling me that I lived outside their delivery zone and that they were not going to deliver the appliances. The person told me that I had the option of either coming to the store and picking up the appliances or getting my money back. I explained to the third party that we lived approximately 25 minutes from the store and that all of the roads and driveway to the house were paved. He didn't care, we did not live in their delivery area and he wasn't going to make an exception. I called and spoke to a manager at Home Depot and he tried to intervene; however, with negative results. So, I went back to the store for a refund and then drove to Lowe's and ordered the same appliances for the same price and they delivered both to our home with no problems. Lowe's is better, for both service and products.

Overall, very well. I went to all of the home improvement stores shopping for a water heater. Home Depot had the product that best matched my needs. I decided to consider their installation service and provided my contact information to an associate. I was contacted by Home Depot's preferred installer, Superior Water & Aire within the hour to arrange an appointment to receive a bid. Their tech arrived at the the appointed time and date and provided a clear explanation of a gas water heater installation then provided a very competitive bid. On the date of install, the same tech arrived on time and completed the job within the expected time frame. The water, gas, and vent connections were all brought up to code. The site was left clean. All of my questions were answered. Home Depot followed up to ensure the job was completed per expectations. Well done by both Home Depot and Superior Water & Aire.

Dustin was prompt in arriving and giving us the bid.  We went with Franklin because the bid included 3 horizontal bars, rather than the typical 2.  Also the vertical supports are metal and installed in concrete.  We had to delay the construction until some landscaping work was completed but Dustin was agreeable to that and got his guys out very soon after the landscaping was done.  The quality of the pickets was very good and the fence was incredibly straight and even.  The project took only 2 days:  one for digging and pouring the concrete, skipped the middle day for the concrete to set up, and the install of the wood fencing the next day.  We are very happy with the completed project.

They are specialty outdoor light bulbs. They had to give me some service as far as making sure I got the right one. They had them in stock and they were very helpful. They have a quality selection and they have customer service people, sales people who are very knowledgeable about what you need. If you don't know exactly what you are looking for, they will give you a lot of help. They don't talk down to you and they are very willing to give you as much time as you need.

It was very friendly and very fast. I think I went in and left in probably less than 40 seconds. They quickly and happily take your return and it won't take very much time out of your day if you need to return a product.

It ended up being not exactly the right fit, so I'm having the company that originally installed it come out and do the repair, rather than me. The customer service was very fast. They are friendly, fast and consistent. On the purchase I was having a hard time finding anyone to help me. So as far as the sale was concerned, it wasn't very good.

Extremely responsive to everything. They returned calls immediately and always called to tell us they were coming. Most of all, I like the idea of Home Depot standing behind the work. The workers were very pleasant and efficient.

    Idaho Patio Inc
They are fairly disorganized. The person who did the initial estimate either quit or got fired. Things did not improve too much after that. I am not sure that they knew that the work they had proposed required a city permit. Luckily our concrete contractor pointed this out. Unfortunately this was an additional $700+ that wasn't in the original estimate. The work dragged on for quite a few weeks with the last little bit (fixing leaks, properly attaching trim with screws instead of press fitting and putting in the downspouts) finishing up about 3 or 4 weeks after the project started. They don't include coordinating an electrician to actually connect the devices to make them operational so this was an additional hassle and another approximately $1000. The website for the company that makes this product states that a wall switch is an option (rather than a flimsy remote control that can easily be lost or broken) but Idaho Patio states the wall switch does not exist. The roof bays were not hooked up when we were expected to pay in full so we didn't know if they even worked. They said not to worry since they would send us a warranty that would make it the manufacturer's problem if they didn't work, rather than Idaho Patio's. It's too bad they are the local supplier for an excellent patio cover, the Apollo Opening Roof System.

From the beginning, Idaho Patio was top rate. The sales person, Tyler, came out multiple times to first plan and quote the project, answer questions and was even here for the final inspection by the City of Boise. He communicated well and was always upfront about any potential issues (of which there were none). The crews that performed the work were courteous and efficient. From the concrete crew, the remodeler (we had to have some structural changes to the house in order to install the patio the way we wanted it)to the two gentlemen who constructed the patio/pergola in just two days. I will say that they are not the cheapest, but I believe you get what you pay for. They are not exorbitantly expensive however. The final product is more than we envisioned and we look forward to many hours of enjoyment in our new outdoor space. I highly recommend Idaho Patio to anyone in the Treasure Valley looking to create a backyard oasis.
