    Dale Garner Electric
Prompt response to initial call and an excellent job installing the first light. Scheduled to return the following Tuesday to finish the job. I stayed home all day with no show/no call. Called first thing Wed. morn and was told they "got a more important job and would try to get to me". I complained that they hadn't even called me and was told - "maybe you should just find someone else" and then hung up on.

Excellent. At first, the fixture had a manufacturer's short in the fixture. The electrician took it back to the shop and the same day within hours, returned and hung it at no added charge. Saved me trying to return for a replacement and the added hassle, plus my time.

    Sermon Service & Electric
1-No estimate was given. 2-The electrician seemed to be either going as slow as possible or didn't know what he was doing. 3-He took 9.5 hours to remove two light fixtures and install a ceiling fan and fixture. 4-He left twice and when I went outside I found him sitting in truck. He didn't itemize bill so I have no idea if he charged me for the time he was sitting in truck. 5-Dry wall crew felt he should drill holes for new fixtures before they started so they could fill in if hole was too big. However electrician insisted on drilling after the dry wall was finished and painted. 6-Hole was too big. 7-After the light fixture was installed he told me to take it down and use a ceiling medallion to cover up the hole. I asked if this would mean I would have to unwire and rewire, he said, "yes but it's not hard." 8-He didn't itemize bill. 9-He asked me to make check out to someone other than Sermon. 10-He told me I should get my husband to take some electrical courses so I don't have to pay for service in future. I'm not married.

    Bartco Electric
On 11/9/15 I purchased 8 hours of electrical service from Bartco Electric for $360. I was required to list three dates and times that I was available for the service to be completed, which I did. Angie’s List also stated the company would contact me within three days. Five days later on 11/14/15, I received a message through Angie’s List from Bartco Electric stating the earliest they could do the work was on 11/21/15. I replied back that 11/21/15 was fine and gave Bartco two contact numbers. We waited around all day on 11/21/15 and Bartco never showed up and never called. As of today…11/30/15…we have still not heard a word from Bartco Electric.

Very smoothly. Days before the work, he came to the house to provide an estimate. He consulted with me to choose the best way to get what I wanted. He came again to plan the job. He brought a helper so the work proceeded quickly. He protected the carpet, and cleaned up completely. He charged by the hour, and did not charge for the time to go back to the store to get a different part. He was very friendly and answered all my questions.

The house was completed. Here is the problem, the organization of the wiring is terrible. They completely consumed two 200 AMP mains in a single family house. They put lights on the same circuit as outlets, meaning that if you blow a breaker at nighttime you are left without any lights. Circuit in the Master Bathroom are consistently off, several outlets will not work. They installed the electrical box for a light in the bathroom and the box is so skewed the light fixture puts weight on the mirror and the mirror breaks, multiple times. The outlet in one room blew, I have been upstairs and downstairs breaker boxes and still haven't determined which fuse has blown. The basement is unfinished and the entire breaker box in the basement is full, some upstairs rooms are in the basement breaker, ie absolutely no organization to how the electrical fuses were laid out. Where do we put circuits for the basement? We have multiple light switches together, and is there any rational on how the lights correleate to the switches? Not at all, the left switch in one case turns on the middle lights, the middle switch turns on the left lights ... And this has happened for every series of light switches. The ran aluminum from the service main into the house. This is mixing copper and aluminum and mixing wire like this under electrical power will deteriorate the wiring, the US Navy is spending tens of millions to eliminate the crossing of two types of wiring material.

If you just want power with no logical organization to breaker boxes, to what switches what on, no careful thought of what makes sense to wire together. These are the guys for you. If you was some outlets to not work like in a bathroom, you want light fixtures mounted that will crack mirrors these are the guys for you.

During construction they put an outlet in the middle of the range. When asked to move the outlet, they said they couldn't do it, so I came in and moved the outlet. They also put an outlet that would be covered by a cabinet and also refused to move the outlet. I moved the outlet for that also.

You are correct, I did not baby sit them as the wired the house. I mistakenly thought that this is what they did for a living, and were being paid $15K to do. Wouldn't they be the experts? If you hire them you better be there everyday to make sure that it gets done. If you want organization, you better be the one to organize. If you want workable circuits, be better supervise them.

They were very up front and honest with me about the work that needed to
be done and went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the
quality of their service. I will definitely be using them again.

    Hotwire Electric
Blaise came out the same day we called. He decided that the problem was the garage circuit breaker being a ground fault variety was the likely cause. He added a new 120 volt outlet on another circuit for the sprinkler. This seemed to fix the problem. My son later the next year reported the problem was occurring again. Blaise came out again and added another 120 volt outlet that was connected to the kitchen circuit breaker. He also noted that the exterior outlet cover was old and not sealing well and suggested we replace it. Based on his suggestion I replaced the outdoor outlet cover and this fixed the problem. It seems that when the sprinkler system would turn on it would trip the breaker connected to the outdoor outlet. While it took two visits, each ~70 dollars, the problem was solved. Blaise discussed the problem with me each time intelligently and patiently, these problems are sometimes not solved easily.

He was fantastic. Courteous, punctual, efficient, well-stocked with parts, and half the price of the other quotes. We have another job coming that we'll need electrical work done on, and I wouldn't consider calling someone else. Happy to have lucked out when we called him.
