    Starch Pet Hospital
The experience there keeps getting worse. Charging for services that weren't performed. There rude and unprofessional. This time they refused to do the exam then wouldn't give me my dog back. I will never go back to this place again . In fact I will be posting my experience on all social media sites over the next couple days.

    HEARTLAND ANIMAL HOSPITAL
We have used Heartland Animal Hospital for the past 19 years! They are super people and love the pets they are seeing. Expert, professional and experienced veterinarians on staff! All of the Vet techs are wonderful and experts, too.

Dr. Janssen and his staff are awesome. we have two dogs, a Pug and Snorky, and we have been using these guys for over 3 years. They always treat my pets like they are a member of my family and I feel, are genuine in there affection for my animals. I have always been given very detailed answers to all of my concerns and the possible treatments of any issues we have had. I appreciated that they give me real treatment solutions and not inflate my bills with extra non-essentials that I have experienced with other provides. Recently Shadow, my Snorky, had an injury and I was able to get an appointment the next day, saw Dr. Janssen and he was able to perform the procedure that day and Shadow is feeling much better already. These guy really are amazing.

the vets didn't seem very knowlegable. On top of that they were afraid of the dog. they charged me for a heart worm test and to get the nails clipped. and only did half the job. they told me I had credit when I made the appointment cause I paid to much the last visit. when checking out they added more money on top of the services that were not performed aka the heart worm test. I will not go back to this office again. finally found a vet with integrity and ethics.

    Paws Inn LLC
I have a very anxious dog and they handled it fabulously! I was very comfortable with the staff and the facilities are very clean and well kept. My dog was excited to see me and go home with me, but he did not display nearly the level of anxiety he has coming home from other boarders.

    Downtown Doggy Daycare, LLC
They go every Wednesday.I use them for both boarding and day care. My dogs love to go there. They're happy to get to go in the door so that's very key. My advice is don't be late picking up; they charge you in five minute increments if you're late. And they get to a point where they let their staff go and they board the dog overnight. They're very up front about it, and they tend to give you a little bit of leeway unless they're at a point where you just get charged for boarding all night. They keep the dog overnight because they can't keep the dog there indefinitely. I buy a package and they do discounts for multiple dogs in the family. It's not a per pound pricing, so it doesn't matter if puppy gains weight, you're not going over a threshold. A dog is a dog. They have lots of little extras that they'll let you add on; not as much as a nationally known provider, for goodness sake, but they'll do like a call over lunch hour or in the evening to keep her calm, and stuff like that. I think daycare - which they are full, they are not taking new clients on daycare right now, they just sent that out - I wanna say that single visits, full day, is $22 per dog, and the second dog is a little bit cheaper, I believe. Boarding is $31 a night for the first three nights; over that, it goes down. It's a kennel; they've got suite boarding and stuff like that too. I had punch cards for my last boarding stay, so I ended up paying like $26; that was a deal. But for daycare I buy a ten day pass and then split it between the two dogs and I paid $190 for it. Their pricing is cheaper than other places I was using. They're good with the animals.

    AVONDALE PET RESORT
This is a very clean and quality facility.  They offer a number of amenities for boarding dogs.  It is probably higher than average price but not out of range for what you would expect.  Staff very friendly!

    UpDog Mobile Grooming & Spa
I called several mobile dog groomers to check out pricing since we have several small dogs and it is very difficult to keep all of them trimmed and clean without several trips to the groomer. Nikki at Updog Grooming called me back within 24 hrs and gave me an estimate I thought was very fair. They came just a few minutes late but it was no problem. She called beforehand to let me know. She met our dogs and I could tell they were definitely animal people. Chi ' s sometimes have trouble with strangers but Nikki had our skittish one cuddling with her in 5 minutes. They went right to work with the 2 dogs to wash and then did the nail trims. Everyone was happy and smelled great. My papillon had a great blow dry. She is so soft and fluffy still 5 days later. I would highly recommend Nikki and Updog Mobile grooming. I had a fabulous experience, as did my pups. Thank You Up Dog Mobile grooming!

    BRODERICK ANIMAL CLINIC
I have been taking my dogs to Broderick for the past nine years.  Everyone there is always pleasant and fantastic to work.  they know both dogs and myself by name and recognize and greet us when we walk in.  The service is always prompt and their advise honest and practical.  The vets and staff are fantastic as well as the groomers.

IVRC - Iowa Veterinary Referral Center

Dr. Reimer preformed the surgery and I can't say enough good things about him! Not only did he do an awesome job on the surgery but he was great with my dog and his passion for animals really showed. My dog came through surgery with flying colors and recovered well as well. He answered all my questions and never made me feel rushed or like an inconvenience. I had several vet and pet owner's who gave him glowing recommendations before the surgery and I can now agree with them all!

Prior to surgery we did an ultrasound with Dr. Adams and she was great as well. Really explained things to me and was respectful and price conscience.

In all the phone calls and visits to IVRC I really had a great experience with just about everyone. One receptionist was rather rude and not helpful but everyone else was great!
