    Iowa Mold Removal, LLC
This is the best company I have interacted with for this service. They did everything I needed from the evaluation to the demolition and rebuild of the basement. The communication between the workers and client is phenomenal. They make sure everyone is on the same page on what to expect every step of the way. They answered all of our questions thoroughly and in a way we could understand. They provide very fair pricing for the quality of service they provide. They keep the area clean as they work and make sure to clean up well at the end of the day as well. They are very knowledgeable and keep the clients' health and safety as a priority, and is very considerate of your time. They listen and help come up with a solution to resolve the issue that fits your situation and keeps your interests in mind. We were initially scheduled to start work a week after he actually ended up getting us in. I felt very comfortable hiring them to complete the work and I would highly recommend them going forward.

Michael came on time. He made a THOROUGH inspection and a radon test. He opened every window, used thermal infrared camera to check the HVAC system and water damage, check the all electric outlet,... He found a leak in the furnace. He immediately knew the leak was a chronic problem. I have used three home inspectors and Michael was the best. I would hire him again. If you are working with a real estate agent, do not just follow the agent's recommendation. Pick your own home inspector.

    Central Iowa Radon
The installer found an inconspicuous place to put the piece that vents to the outside--we were pleased about that. Another employee brought a test kit a few weeks after the work was done (arrived 1/2 hour early, as we were unloading groceries--not too convenient, he was obviously anxious to be done on a Friday-- and we were to leave it in the basement for the weekend. He was to return on Monday to pick it up. He was quite late so I called him, sounded like he forgot. But he came within a 1/2 of my call and took care of it.

Gene was responsive and professional. I really appreciated that he clearly explained what he observed and offered suggestions that I might do to correct some things. I asked him if he could also recommend the things that need immediate attention and the things that could wait. His estimate included exactly what I asked for. My situation changed, and I'm unable to pursue a plan at this time. I am definitely interested is working with him in the future.

As you will see, JB knows radon and its history very very well! Absolute professional, who was great to work with; he allowed to me to come see a system at his parent's house, in order to "hear" what the air going through the system sounded like - so I had an idea what it would sound like in our basement spare bedroom. I don't often have good luck with contractors - you will enjoy this painless process with JB the radon guy!

Stan and his crew were extremely professional and polite. The service took from 8:00AM to 12:00 PM. They arrived on time, installed the equipment and then we evacuated the house for the remainder of the service while the machines did their job. The special solution released from the machines  resents the molecular structure of the air quality.

When we returned home the house smelled fresh and clean and we were able to resume life as usual.

This service would be especially useful for houses with mold, dust, dander and other allergies. If a family member suffers from asthma and allergies, the treatment can help reduce the symptoms and provide a healthy and pure environment in which to live.

    AmeriSpec Home Inspections
Amerispec Inspector Beau Feris inspected our 1920's two story house.  The inspector failed to notice several red flags, that will end up costing us thousands of dollars, including:
    - what I've been told is obvious mold that was in the house at the time of the inspection
    - what I've been told is obvious water damage
    - several broken fence posts and panels.
    - damage (that I noticed at the time) to the front and back storm doors
    - inspector did not go onto roof, noted it as unable to access due to pitch and height.  The lower roof is less than 10 feet above the deck, and not steep.  He didn't bring a ladder.
    - noted no "getters" on the back of the house, despite the existence of gutters
    - couldn't tell what an old coal furnace chimney was on the interior
    - noted furnace manufactured in 2997

Called PHD for an estimate on a Wednesday, and after answering a few questions about my house, was given an estimate and, because PHD had a cancellation in their schedule, JB and an employee were at the house, on time, on Friday.  After conducting tests and surveying the layout, JB gave me options.  Luckily, they could install the system along interior basement and garage walls in out-of-the-way areas.  After finishing their work, JB gave me a tour of the system and explained how everything works and advised me of safety precautions which should be taken whenever anyone is making repairs near the exhaust on the roof.   He left a simple radon test kit for me to use after 4-7 days had elapsed.  I waited a week before testing.  The results show current levels at 0.3 pCi/L, which according to the testing company, Air-Chek, Inc., is equivalent to the radon levels found in fresh air.  JB said not to worry about paying the bill until I had this result, so I?m putting the check in the mail today.  PHD did a great job and I appreciated their professionalism, attitude, and consideration!

They arrived on time, ready to work.  There was no hesitation, they knew exactly what they wanted to do.  During the course of the day they completed the project, cleaning up after themselves before they left.  They left us with a radon test kit to be sure that levels had dropped below threshold levels.  If they had not, thou they did for us, they would return and re-evaluate and rework until the numbers were where they belonged.  There was no additional fee for any extra service needed.

    AmeriServ Radon Mitigation of Iowa
Our home was tested 18 pCi/L which is considered high. I contacted AmeriServ and within a few days Kevin inspected our property
and gave us an estimate which was better than other estimates I had received.
About a week later Kevin installed the system it took about 6 hours and everything was cleaned up perfectly.
We then did another radon test and it came back @ 4 pCi/L which is the maximum for government standards but AmeriServ came out again and installed a larger fan at no extra charge. We have since had it tested again and the results were 1.8 pCi/L well below the gov. standards.
I was very pleased with AmeriServ and would highly recommend this company.
