My dishwasher wasn't draining. Josh arrived within the specified time frame. Spent several minutes doing some troubleshooting. Eventually found a kink in the drain hose from when I had repaired a different issue a week before. He was able to unlink the hose.

The repair person came out on tume for appointment. He got the furnace started again and helped reset the thermostat to a more reasonable temperature. I would like to talk to them about a new furnace and a/c.

The smell persisted and we hired DM Repair Services to come look at it. Both technicians could smell the odor and on opening up the service compartment they found a paint scraper/putty knife next to the defroster coil. The plastic handle of the tool had melted and was clearly the source of the burnt plastic smell. Obviously, Doug left the tool there at his first visit (see attached pictures taken by the DM Repair Services technician and a close up of the tool we took upon removal.) To say that we are disappointed to have to pay another repair service to diagnose and correct the incompetence of your technician is an understatement. To have endured several weeks of exposure of our refrigerated food to potentially toxic fumes from the melted plastic handle of his tool is an even greater concern. At the very least we are owed us $175.00 for the charge DM Repair Service invoiced today. We wish we could include the picture of the putty knife that was in our fridge.

Last year I called to get my freezer repaired, they came out within a few days...ordered a part came back within a week $200-$300 later freezer was working. No complaints Today I called and told them the freezer was not working again and asked them to look up what happened before, I was told they don't do anything by computer and they only have paper copies...I asked her to look up the paper copy...she then told me they don't really keep any paper copies...at least not where she could access them. This is so unbelievable...how do you not keep records of what you do for customers, warranty concerns or call backs like my request. I decided to call another company...Metro Appliance either needs to get in the 21st century or better train their staff to explain this unexplainable business practice.

At $238 I said we'd shop for a new dishwasher.  Repairman closed up dishwasher and commented on how he'll be out of a job soon with this throwaway economy. Also said he would talk to management to see if they could reduce price but I never heard back. Paid $65 service call fee which was disclosed upfront.  I would have appreciated a quote before hand since I gave the company the name, model and serial # of the dishwasher and stated exactly what was wrong.
Afterwards, I researched this problem on the internet.  Purchased a $30 part and repaired it myself.  I should have done that first.  $238 for a $30 part and an hour of work - including drive time, is to me a ridiculous charge.
On a positive note, the customer service department was very prompt to respond when setting up the appointment and called to tell me when the technician was on his way. I have not had any follow up calls since the appointment.

I had the service guys over to fix the dryer on 9.17 and submitted a review for that visit. It was not good at all. The dryer kept on squeaking really bad, and it got so loud I had to call the guys to come back. I asked that "Randy" not be the service tech, but PLEASE send someone else.
This time, Josh came over and he was really great. He took the dryer all apart and cleaned it out. He had to replace a roller, and lubricated all the others. He was such a GREAT young man. He was cheerful, conscientious, and easy going - perfect. There was no charge for this visit. The dryer is working great, no noise at all. I am so grateful. I will definitely use these guys again for all of my appliance problems. THANKS Metro.

"Randy" arrived on time. He was not a very pleasant individual. He sprayed some really smelly stuff and stopped the screeching noise, but it is back now. I asked about cleaning out the lint and he said it was not needed as it just goes out the vent. I am
not sure about this? I think it needs cleaned out and checked periodically. I need to be able to do this myself I guess.

    Dan Can Fix It LLC
I had noticed the seal on my freezer drawer was worn out and I order a new seal on-line. I called Dan because of his high rating on Angie's List. On our initial phone call, Dan said he worked 7 days a week and he said he could come on a Sunday. He called ahead and told me when he would be coming by. He confirmed the seal needed to be replaced and had it fixed in 30 minuets.
I would not hesitate to call Dan in the future.

I was very pleased with the service. I called on Wednesday and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. The technician called on Thursday to ask if he could come a little early, which worked great for me. He came within about 15 minutes of his phone call. He looked at the washing machine and assessed the problem quickly. He explained the issue and gave me an estimate for how much a full repair would cost. When I explained that I didn't think the repair would be worth it, he told me about used appliances sold at the store, but he was not pushy. He also a gave me some advice for how to deal with the issue if it happened again before I purchased a new machine. I would call Metro Appliance again for repair services, and we also plan to look there for a new machine.

The service call was the majority of the cost. |The first person who came out was awesome. He identified what parts were needed and then called into the shop to order them. Then I had to reschedule having the parts installed. The second person who came out didn't have the right part and wasn't as professional as the first person. He was able to "make due" as he stated, which made me a little unsure of what exactly he did if he didn't have the part needed. That's the main reason for the B rating.
