Bark Busters In-Home Dog Training - Des Moines, IA
This system may be effective for dogs that show aggression or have other serious behavioral problems, but what I wanted was some basic "manners" training for a new dog. I thought it might be easier to do it at home, rather than taking a class. At the end of more than four hours, I still had not received that. What I did get was a lengthy dissertation on holistic nutrition/raw diet and "leadership." My two female dogs are sweet, friendly, not aggressive, and pretty well behaved already, and their nutrition is under the care of an excellent vet that I've seen for a very long time. I also got beanbags full of metal chain that I was supposed to throw at the floor in order to get my dog's attention. I was lucky that the beanbags didn't crack my tile floor! I also ended up with two dogs that were frightened the rest of the evening. I have no issue with Deb. She's a nice person who's making her living selling a franchised system that may work for some. I wish I had done my homework better before I called Bark Busters, because it is not the right system for me and my dogs. Deb and I worked things out in terms of the cost, and I applaud her for that. I recommend that anyone who contemplates Bark Busters find out as much as possible about the system and make sure it's what you want, because it is expensive. For my two dogs, the price was $799. The amount I actually paid was less.

They found cataracts in her eyes. They said there was nothing we could do unless we wanted expensive surgery so for now, it's no big deal. The yearly insurance covers all the costs. I cannot compare  pricing  with other places. They are very good.

I  have nowhere else to compare the price to. I went there because the doctor at that time was going to my church. Every time I've needed something, they try to accommodate my time. They serve me as fast as I need. They call me whenever Linda, my dog, is scared.

My dog is two and has been only here since I adopted her at 10 weeks old - she loves it here. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Prices are on the high side, but I'd rather take the dog somewhere she loves.

Petco Animal Supplies Inc - Des Moines

I had to stand there for about 20 minutes to get done what I needed to do. They are okay, but it is a corporate chain and the prices are too high. The help is good, they know what they are doing. Your dog is welcome in there. They are real good at responsiveness. The last big thing I bought there was a dog cage.

    RACCOON RIVER KENNELS

We were anxious initially to leave our dog for 7 days but our dog liked the place even though she was a little scared in the beginning because of other big dogs. But the 7 days that she was there was good and we were able to get updates form the Kennel periodically. Great place and great people who are friendly and defintely care about the dogs.

    Ingersoll Animal Hospital
These people - from the staff, vet techs, vets & owners - are every bit as professional and good at what they do as any human doc I've been exposed to recently (many). Also, they're way more empathetic and compassionate.  If I don't feel well I'll probably see a vet - probably Dr Dermody.

I have taken my cats here since I moved to Iowa five years ago.  Dr. Kueter was wonderful with my senior kitties who came to her with multiple health issues already.  They lived wonderful full long lives of GREAT quality, and I have no doubt this is because of the excellent medical care they received.
Dr. Kueter always went so far above and beyond what was required - calling to follow up, seeing to it that special medicines could be compounded and taking time out of her busy days to call when there was a problem.  If my cats needed to be seen, they were ALWAYS worked in.
I have a kitten now who is a love and a complete handful (in the best of ways).  He came from an unhealthy breeder situation and through their dedication and compassion, he has beaten all of the odds so far.  Dr. Whitney and Dr. Kueter have spent a tremendous amount of time and energy dealing with his complicated medical history and sorting it all out to plan the best course of action.  There are no words to thank them for all they have done.  He is gorgeous and healthy now, and I'm so so thankful to them and the entire staff including the techs and front desk.  They are amazing!
My parents also took their cats to Jordan Creek before they moved out of state.  We have always had tremendous confidence that our "babies" were getting the best care possible.
Jordan Creek is also an accredited AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) animal hospital.  (Most veterinary hospitals are not.)  This means that they are held to and meet VERY high standards for quality of care in all areas.
I would never take my "fur kids" anywhere else.  The vets and staff here are all so knowledgable, professional, thorough, warm, caring, and passionate about what they do.

    Robidoux Country Kennels
Our collie, Mister Darcy, does not do well in a boarding situation. When we read about Robidoux Country Kennels on Angie's List with quiet country environment and personal runs and the other favorable reviews we decided to take the leap of faith and board him there for our next trip. It is a beautiful property and the kennels are open and airy and very clean. There is nothing hidden away behind "mysterious" doors. We felt very comfortable about leaving him there.  True to Mister Darcy's nature he refused to eat being away from home and in a strange environment. Emily Robidoux contacted me and asked if it would be ok to try to entice him to eat by adding a bit of canned to his regular food.  It meant a great deal to me that Emily cared enough to reach out to me and that she was also careful in case he had any possible food sensitivity.  When we came to pick Mister Darcy up on Sunday afternoon I peaked around the door and our dog was calmly sleeping on his bed (yes! you can bring your dog's bed to the kennel!). When we got home Mister Darcy was playful and happy. (As opposed to being a shattered nervous wreck after staying at the fancy indoor "pet hotels".) Yes, he will continue to be a picky eater away from home but I am confident that Emily will keep a close eye on him.
The kennel had quite a few boarders when we came to pick up Mister Darcy and they all looked happy and healthy and glad to be there. We will definitely bring Mister Darcy back to Robidoux Country Kennels when we need to board him.

Dr. Sanders has been caring for my 2 cats last 7 years.
He and his staffs are very caring and gentle to my cats.
After we found out my cat had cancer, Dr. Sander knew that we need time to make the tough decision,
He gave us a few days of pain medication. My cat was more relax then and we spent a few good days together.
The final procedure was done in a gentle, caring manner. That made a difficult situation easier.
We really appreciate Dr. Sanders and his staff, and a special thanks to Shan.
