    Think twice before going to the West Des Moines Eye Care of Iowa.  I had a terrible customer service experience.  Following my last exam, the staff took my insurance info, ordered my contacts, charged me for all of the above, and then I never heard from them.  I called two weeks later to check on the status of my contacts and was told they either a) never ordered them or b) wouldn't give them to me because I hadn't come in for a follow-up appointment.  I indicated they never set up a follow-up appointment and they hadn't given me any new contacts to wear, so how could I come to an appointment they didn't set up to check contacts they'd never given me?!?  My prescription change was small (a quarter step) and I have been wearing the same brand for 7 years.  They told me they would give me a 10-day supply and that I would need to come in for a follow-up before they would give me the boxes I'd already ordered and paid for.  I asked if I could wear the new prescription for a few days, and if all was well, just call to cancel the follow-up and finalize the prescription (this is what I had been allowed to do the previous year when I had the same change in prescription (a quarter step)).  I was told no, that the doctor specifically needed to see me for a follow-up because I had a large change in prescription - that statement was at best inaccurate and at worse a flat out lie.  Needless to say, after my follow-up appointment for my "large change" in prescription, I will be leaving with my contacts and said prescription in hand never to return again.

    They were good. I later found out that they were a little bit more expensive than several other eye care places. I liked the optometrist that did my exam. She was very nice and very thorough.They were available. I got an appointment very quickly -within a couple of days after my phone call. The office environment was very nice, very friendly and professional. They were very punctual. I don't think I stayed more than ten minutes waiting for the appointment or my contacts when they wanted to re-check them. They were very friendly. She was very professional and very good. The communication was very good. They emailed and they followed up with a phone call. My contacts are working out very well. They were very adaptable with the billing and administration. I would consider using them in the future just because of the service and the friendliness even though they were a little bit more expensive.

    I have been going to Dr. Broek for nearly 20 years for routine eye exams and prescriptions for glasses and contacts. I also typically purchase my glasses and contacts there, although the chain stores do have better prices, but I like the service I get at Urbandale. Dr. Broek is very knowledgeable and always takes time to discuss the exam results and answer any questions.

    I had a routine eye exam and contact check. I was seen right away at my appointment time. Ashlee helped me get all my new patient information and was very personable and helpful. Then she said Dr Huisman would be right in and he actually did come right into the room. It made me laugh because that never happens, but was a great/ welcome suprise. Overall very impressive business and service!!

    It was a good experience, overall. It's a very up to date building. They had modern equipment, which I liked. The staff was less concerned about the individual and more concerned about getting more patients through, since it is a larger practice. They didn't indicate to you what they are about to do before they did it. I would have liked a little warning about upcoming procedures.

    They are very organized, you never have to wait, get in on time, and the staff is very professional.  They dispense glasses and contacts, but, don't pressure to buy them there.  They let you have your prescription and take it elsewhere.  I had some severe issues and the doctor has a good network of specialists and referred me out.  The office is small, but nicely appointed.  Every once in a while she may get my relatives billing mixed up with mine, but, it gets straightened out, as I have quite a bit of relatives going there.  She gets high ratings and I will continue to go there.

    He is very attentive. For instance, I have problems sometimes getting the right fit on contacts because I need toric contacts, and he'll see me as many times as I need to be seen to get it right. He is very thorough. He keeps pretty much up to date on the latest equipment, like he does eye mapping or optical mapping. I feel like instead of getting my prescription checked I'm getting a good medical exam on my vision. I would continue to see him in the future if I needed to.

    I changed to this one because my doctor retired. My husband was using Wolfe Eye Clinic, so I knew it would be easy with the insurance as it all would be in one place. I am satisfied with them. They have a good reputation here. I would use this practice again.

    I think they do a nice job. I visited them last month. You just get in and out and they just do a good job. I'm happy with them. It is easy to make appointments with the people in the office and everything is taken care of really well.

    As this was a first visit did the typical paperwork.  Then an assistant ran a couple tests on various machines then took me to another room to visit with the doctor.  After a short wait the doctor arrived and we went through the vision tests (which is better "1" or "2" when reading a line of letters?) where she was openly communicative and covered all my questions.  Afterwards tried out a new set of contact lenses and then did the check-out and paid for the services.
