    Wendy Roberts MD
I have been going Dr. Wendy Roberts and she has been very good. Infact, she wanted me to sue them, she said this was totally unacceptable and I am still having problems and I contacted her last week because I am still having internal pain. It is because it was so deep and it did nerve damage it takes about a year to get better.

Since the clinic has taken over almost the whole floor, sometimes I'm not sure what office Amy is working in; this year the staff finally realized they have to tell you which office when the appointment is made! They're prompt, and I always get plenty of bandages and antibiotic ointment if they do take sample -- as well as thorough instructions on how to use any medication. Things like cortisone creme has changed in preferred application over the years (e.g., length of time to use w/breaks every few days) and they make sure to explain.

    Joshua Wilson MD
Without being asked if I wanted an all over skin check (it is customary to be asked and to be able to decline), I was told to undress down to my underwear.  Dr. Wilson handled my body like roughly, disrespectfully, like a piece of meat.  His bedside manner was poor--he was curt, bordering on rude.  My general practitioner sent me to Dr. Wilson for an ear lesion that Dr. Wilson stated he did not see.
The office banter was inappropriate and unprofessional--he flirted shamelessly with female office staff.  This young, green doctor needs to mature and run his office professionally and vastly improve his bedside manner.

I came here upon a recommendation from a colleage and had an overall positive experience. I was an early appointment and got there 15 minutes ahead of my time, yet, I wasn't seen until probably 20 minutes after my scheduled time. Everyone was very pleasant and friendly. I did like the PA-C that I saw (Baer), she was thorough and informative, however, she spoke so fast that she often had to repeat herself and it made me feel a bit rushed. She had great information and sent me some follow up information a couple days later and sent me home with samples that day. I will be going back for annual visits as well as any follow ups.

May 22 was follow up visit on initial diagnose of vitiligo. Initially I was give a prescription for Protopic, but my insurance would not cover it as no other treatments had been used. A prescription of steroid cream was then given and used for 5 weeks prior to May 22 appointment. I was disappointed they did not take any measurements, photos or other records on size and amount of pigmentation loss.
On May 22, I met with Dr Bean and assistants, after discussion I was written another prescription for Protopic which my insurance refused after requesting more information from doctors.

The procedure was pretty simple and involved injections in both cheeks and both sides of my chin. I had more bruising than I expected and the bruising on my chin was severe. Swelling was minor. The results of the procedure were subtle and very nice. The swelling was gone within a few days and the bruising cleared up in about 2 weeks.
The one thing that troubled me was that multiple injections were given without cleaning the injection sites first. I don't know if this is common practice, but it troubled me, and seemed to present a risk of introducing bacteria deep under my skin. Before I go back, I will certainly ask some questions to learn if I should expect the injection sites to be cleaned and understand the risks of not cleaning the injection sites.

Dr. Wilson has made my whole family feel at ease and comfortable; my son even enjoys going to his visits! We use both the West Des Moines and Ankeny offices, and both have great receptionists and waiting rooms. Our appointments are always on time and take less than a half hour. I should point out that the meetings with Dr. Wilson are never rushed. He's very careful to answer all of our questions and I never feel that he's trying to wrap up and get to the next patient -- he's thorough and succinct. Really, visiting with him is a joy!
