They sell Cadillacs, Lexus, Volvos and Land Rovers; it’s a high end car. The whole total was probably $6.000. I was very satisfied. They are not the lowest cost in town, but they’re reputable and they deliver. I am happy with their service. The quality of service was good. They did what they said they would do. Sometimes they pick up our car and sometimes we take it in. There was a number of things that needed done. They actually gave us a loaner car. We went on vacation, came back and it was done. The workers are helpful.

    Walmart Supercenter
The first time I took it last month, I went a couple of hours later to pick it up because I just dropped it off. When I picked it up, they hadn't done the oil change because they said they don't carry the filter for my car. After I left, I realized they've changed the oil before. I went back a couple of days later and the filter was on the shelf. They didn't tell me they were out of stock. They told me they didn't carry it. They basically screwed up and wasted part of my day. I had taken my car there for oil changes before and usually they were good.

When you have engine problems with your automobile it?s
always stressful. I know for I immediately
experience anxiety and dollars leaving my bank account every time something
    goes wrong with my car.
Recently my Aura MDX started running rough going down the
highway and after I checked all of the obvious problems myself I decided that I
needed some real professional help so I went to West Side Auto Pro?s
in West Des Moines because they seemed to be the ultimate repair shop in mid
Iowa second only to the impossibly expensive dealerships.
After diagnosing my problem they called and reassured me
that they could get my car running perfectly again but it would require a cost
of $3,500. After I caught my breath I reasoned
that these were the professionals who thoroughly diagnosed my problem and had the
expertise and confidence that they know what to do and if they could fix my car
for that price I would still be ahead financially and not have to scrap my
    vehicle.
Unfortunately after they completed the repairs they called
me to explain that my car still didn?t run correctly but for $400 more dollars
they could take it apart again and let me know how much more money it would
require for them to really fix my problem.
Normally it would be about $950 to do this but they were giving me a
discount for spending the initial $3,500.
I only make this review to let you know that as good as this
shop is there are still some real nightmares here and you are always taking
your chances with auto repair. I admit
that I was the idiot that spent $3.500 and drove off with a car that smoked and
burned oil like crazy but I couldn?t stand the thought of spending nearly
$1,500 more and not having any guarantee that I would have a car that ran at
    all.

    Firestone Complete Auto Care Store
The entire inspection took less than an hour, and only cost around 40 bucks.  Assuming they actually did what I paid them for (that's a pretty quick inspection according to some), that was far shorter than expected, and at a far better cost.  Definitely left the shop with a smile on my face (the car was in excellent condition), which isn't something that happens everyday (walking away from a garage that just worked on your car with a smile on your face).

    Higgins Plaza Service Inc
The car died at an intersection and had to be towed to the Higgins shop.  This happened on a Saturday evening just before the shop closed.  They wouldn't be able to look at it until Monday, but they have a drop off which the insurance provided tow service used.
On Monday, I received a call with the diagnosis and the price (~$550).  It sounded high, but I'm fairly sure that the fuel tank has to be removed to replace the fuel pump and I didn't really have a choice at that point.
The repairs are completed on Monday and I pickup up the vehicle that evening.  The car is running again so I can't complain about that, but the majority of the bill was for a $310 fuel pump (fuel filter and labor was separate).  Even the retail price of a premium replacement fuel pump is $250 and many can be had for much less (e.g. $90 - $150).  I was not presented with other options.  The decision to offer a vastly overpriced and marked up part for a heavily worn vehicle is disappointing to say the least.  I also strongly doubt if a premium part was used or even if the fuel pump was replaced at all.
Regardless of the high marks on Angie's List that caused me to choose this shop, I don't trust the work that they performed and I won't be using them in the future.

Took our vehicle in because the check engine light was on. We were told this issue was fixed, only to find that the next day the light came back on. Since we had paid around $300 the day before for the issue to be fixed, we were frustrated to discover that the light was back on. When we called back to express our frustration and try to find a way to resolve the problem, we were told we could get a full refund and take our business elsewhere. We called back later and were able to schedule to get our vehicle back in to be rechecked, only to be told that there was nothing they could do and that we needed to take the vehicle to a dealer. Our biggest frustrations were the need for the for the vehicle to be in the shop twice and the fact that when we wanted to follow up with our concerns we felt as though we were just kind of brushed off by being told to take our business elsewhere. We will not be doing business at this location again.

    Bill's Whitewall Tire Center
Stopped by asked for price on tires, got a good price with none of the added costs that other tire stores give you. I got one price that included tires, mounting and balance. None of this extra about disposal fees super balance etc, one price and done. We shook hands and I brought my car in two days later, got a ride back to work and picked up the car that night. The alignment was fine and again I was quoted one price which included everything, none of this one price to check alignment and another to align the car. This has happened to me before. Nothing fancy just good honest service and prices.

    IOWA AUTO REPAIR
Perfect as usual. I have been using Iowa Auto Repair for the last few years for all three of my cars. I know a reasonable amount about cars, so I can tell these guys are honest, fair, and only do what's needed.

    Tires Plus
I wanted to have my brakes inspected and replaced since I have an older car and hadn't had the brakes replaced for a long time, even though the tell-tale squeaking wasn't there. I also asked if the struts could be checked since back seat passengers complained of too much bouncing. Tires Plus did a full car inspection, including the brakes and struts. The techician went over the report with me and said there was still quite a bit of usable brake pad on my brakes. He didn't feel it was necessary to replace the brakes right now - said I probably could get another 10,000 miles on them. When I said I was concerned abou the rotors being ruined if the pads didn't hold, he said the rotors are very thin already and would most likely have to be replaced regardless of whether I got the brakes changed now. I appreciated that info as I was trying to avoid having the rotors replaced too. He said there was no leakage in the struts but if I felt the ride might be better, they would change them. However, he said it might not improve the ride since there is no apparent defect with the struts, so I would be spending approximately $1400.00 to have a potentially better ride. He did say according to the car manual, the struts should have been replaced at 50,000 miles (I have 82,000) on my car. Due to the expense, I decided to wait until I notice leakage or an obviously uncomfortable ride in the car. As the driver, I don't notice if the back seat is uncomfortable and usually don't have passengers. My total cost for the visit was a $10.00 inspection fee.
I appreciated the honest analysis of my car and the helpful information given to me to make a good decision about potential repairs to my car. I decided against both the brake and strut repair for the time being; however, when that time comes, I will go back to Tires Plus to have the work done. I felt the technician was honest and professional.

    Smart Honda
Drop off and shuttle services are always good at Smart Honda. After the initial repair, we had an issue with the heater not working. I returned the car for service on a Friday. They could not locate the problem Friday so I was provided with a new, clean loaner vehicle for the weekend. When the issue was fixed the following Monday by replacing the thermostat, my service advisor said it might have been a whole new issue or the thermostat problem could have been caused by an error on their part when they fixed the idle air control valve. Because it could have been their error, I was not charged for the thermostat repair. It was inconvenient to have to return the car after the first repair, but I appreciated how they stood behind their work and made it right at no charge and with minimum hassle or fanfare.
