    Konstruct Pros LLC
Mike and Tim were very prompt and helpful with planning the work and listening to our thoughts and ideas. They provided timely estimates for the work and helped us trim costs in areas where we needed to and then helped price specific options for changes and tweaks to the scope as the work progressed. We were very pleased with the process and transparency. They do the majority of the work in house and bring on skilled craftsman for specialty trades - but they are always present and manage the work when any subs are working on our residence. This was a major plus for us the confirmed the trust we have with them and their commitment to perform the work as requested.

    Haggerty Windows & Siding
They showed up and finished in the approximate schedule they provided. The issues we did have were typically small, like bits of debris left in the yard. They worked with us on the price for both the roofing and the siding to keep both together. When we had other issues, they were easy to work with. One of the band board features didn't line up with windows very well, so they contacted us to cofirm what we wanted and change it up to get a better look. The new foundation paint was slightly off the siding color, so they repainted with no hassle. Overall, they worked fast, and did a terrific job on both the siding and the roofing.

    Renewal by Andersen
It went extremely well. Our salesman, Nick, worked with us on several different options and was helpful in the selection we made. We also provided the assistance provided by the owner. Amanda was great to work with around scheduling .I was a bit hesitant about the install due to cold January weather, but the installers (Eli and Ben) could not have been better. They were prompt, and meticulous in their work. They put tarps on the floors, and covered all furniture in the room. They worked very efficiently to keep the amount of time the windows and door were out. I also appreciated that they kept me updated on their progress. Renewal by Andersen is not the least expensive, but the service they provide, the fact that they don't outsource the install work, makes it worth it. The installer called a minor problem with one of the window grills to my attention but he had already taken steps to get it corrected. I recommend them and would certainly rehire.

    Renewal by Andersen
The sales representative Nick Rackem made sure we purchased the right doors. The installers Craig and Cody were professional and did a professional job. When they left the place was left very neat and clean. I am very happy with the price and quality of our new sliding glass doors.

    Renewal by Andersen
This was a big project, replacing nearly all the windows in my house. Starting with the salesman, Jerry, and ending with the install team of Ben, Eli, Myles and Nate, the process was as painless as could be. There are many things that could happen with a project of this size, and the details are endless. The entire staff managed the project efficiently and the onsite installers were the best!

    Doors of Distinction
Outstanding. We were very very happy with the results of the work done. Jim is very friendly in a professional manner. He was attentive to the details, and that makes all the difference in how the door will look. The process overall is rather time consuming, but having discussed this project with other potential vendors before deciding to hire DofD, I found that this is fairly typical. This is because the doors are customized and need to painted before arriving for installation. We would be thrilled to work with Doors of Distinction again should the opportunity present itself.

    Hicklin Door Services
My home - and garage door - is 10 years old.  Each year my garage door would give problems operating / sticking / "bouncing" in the cold winter.
I would have to UP the Up and Down Force settings on my opener motor so it would not stop.
This summer, my door is giving me problems in the heat. - Time for a tune-up.
After inspection, I was told that my rollers in the track were plastic, and it might work better if they had metal ball bearings, but it wouldn't help my door being "heavy" when it's near the top.  So I declined the $99 extra to replace these.
I was told that after 10 years my torsion springs were "getting old" and were "sagging" because they were losing their strength.  And it would be $299 or more to replace them.  I declined.
When I was told my door was pushing too hard to get it down past the 3-foot mark, it doesn't make sense to me that the springs are weak.  I would think that my door would be heavy and want to go down too fast.
He tightened my springs instead, for no additional cost.  I questioned why to tighten them if I had a problem with the door going down past the 3-foot mark.  After he tightened them, the visible "sag" was still there.  He said it wasn't going away - that only a new set of springs would be tight and straight-across without sag.
Several things just didn't add up.  I'm half expecting to have my door fail to go down again here in the next week, because I just don't buy into the story he was telling me.
He was a nice guy and gave a good explanation on everything, but one explanation for one area didn't match up logically with his explanation with another area.
I don't know if I was told the truth, and just don't understand really the dynamics of how a door works, but I think it's pretty straight-forward:  If it doesn't go down, either the spring is too tight, keeping it up....or something is sticking, making it try to force past the resisting area.
If a door can't lift (not my current issue), either the spring is too weak to help lift, or there's something too tight causing it to stick.
It can't really be much more complicated than that.
He also suggested that my motor "was getting wore-out" from "working so hard" with these door issues over the years, and I was quoted $400+ to $800 for a new motor.   I declined.
I grade a level "C" on Quality and Professionalism because what I was told just didn't add-up for me.
I was offered a $50 charge to add an attachment plate to the center of my door where it attaches to the lifter.  There was a small crack at this spot.  If this gets worse, I will make sure it is reinforced with a steel plate.  But I can produce one for cheaper than $50 parts expense.  I understand it's part of how a service company makes money, but that's pretty high compared with the next item...
I was offered a $99 charge to replace all the rollers.  (about $8 each?)
I was offered a $299+ charge to replace springs
I was offered a $400+ charge to replace the motor.
I grew up on a farm and know how to fix a variety of heavy machinery on a constant basis.  I can fix things myself, but I have my own firm here in the city related to agribusiness, so I hire out for fix-it jobs.  I've never experienced an electric motor just "get tired" from use and lose strength.  An electric motor works strong until it's dead.  A spring can get weak with age and use, but it can be tightened and gain most of that strength back.  I've seen garage door springs last 45 years before they break.  BANG!!
Everything just didn't pass the Nose test.  Something is fishy.

    Terry the Toolman's Home Improvements
I used Angie's list to contact Terry about the projects and he called me within 24 hours.  What a pleasant surprise!  He took the bifold doors on Friday and had them repaired and installed in less than a week.  I also had a gas fireplace window that needed to be cleaned, but a few of the screw heads were stripped and I couldn't remove them. Terry got the job done in 10 minutes and I was able to clean the inside of the glass so he could replace the glass in less than half an hour. This was the second time we used Terry and will definitely use him again.

Everything went well. Great guy and tremendously professional. Asked if he could take the door with him to fit the glass, communicated with us regularly, finished the work promptly. Very happy with the service and would recommend to anyone.
