My dishwasher wasn't draining. Josh arrived within the specified time frame. Spent several minutes doing some troubleshooting. Eventually found a kink in the drain hose from when I had repaired a different issue a week before. He was able to unlink the hose.

    Dan Can Fix It LLC
Dan was right on time and very personable and professional. His diagnosis, after thorough review, was that it had just been overloaded with a heavy load. Only had to pay trip fee and he answered many questions I had regarding the appliances.

At $238 I said we'd shop for a new dishwasher.  Repairman closed up dishwasher and commented on how he'll be out of a job soon with this throwaway economy. Also said he would talk to management to see if they could reduce price but I never heard back. Paid $65 service call fee which was disclosed upfront.  I would have appreciated a quote before hand since I gave the company the name, model and serial # of the dishwasher and stated exactly what was wrong.
Afterwards, I researched this problem on the internet.  Purchased a $30 part and repaired it myself.  I should have done that first.  $238 for a $30 part and an hour of work - including drive time, is to me a ridiculous charge.
On a positive note, the customer service department was very prompt to respond when setting up the appointment and called to tell me when the technician was on his way. I have not had any follow up calls since the appointment.

    Holt Plumbing & Heating Inc
Because of a scheduling opening, I was able to get service on my disposal within an hour of the time I first contacted the company.  (I can only hope I would be this lucky if we ever have an emergency!).  The technician was very knowledgeable and was obviously trained to sell as well as to service.  We were offered a choice of disposals with subtle, but obvious, encouragement to buy the more expensive one.  We didn't.  We were also offered a discount if we agreed to use Holt to do the seasonal check-ups on our furnace and air conditioner.  We signed up for this after it became apparent that the technician was very knowledgeable in the workings of our furnace.  He provided valuable information on our heating system (we recently purchased this townhome and weren't sure how some of the add-ons to the furnace were supposed to be utilized).
In summary, we received timely service from a knowledgeable, personable, efficient technician.  The reason for the Overall Rating of B is solely due to the cost of the activity.  It also would have been nice to see the cost broken down into parts and labor vs a single flat rate for the disposal plus installation.

The technician arrived on time and confessed that he did not have much experience servicing my brand of refrigerator.  That was somewhat surprising since I told the company receptionist over the phone what brand it was.  Anyway, he replaced a water filter for the refrigerator water system which had been left by previous owners of the house, confirmed that the refrigerator was currently working well (we had just reset it through the on/off switch), left me the name  of a service company I could contact which would know the brand better if problems continued to arise, and did not charge me anything for the service call.  Free call.  Nice guy/company.

    Westside Appliance Repair
They first came out to diagnose why my electric dryer would not start. They were able to get my dryer running, but explained what else was not functioning properly with the dryer. They gave me an option to have the dryer fixed with additional parts, or take my chances and see how long the dryer would continue to run as is. They also gave me prices on what a new replacement would cost. I chose to have the dryer fixed with limited parts based on the cost to fix vs. brand new prices.  They came out later in the week to repair. There were two service calls associated with the second repair - one to fix and one to clean the dryer vents. My repairs could have been avoided IF I maintained a regular dryer vent cleaning. Lesson learned - clean the dryer vents behind the dryer AND to the outside vent. I would use this company again. The two repairmen were punctual and very nice to work with.

I called Strong Repair because they were the authorized repairman for my Braun range hood. They didn't have any previous reviews on Angie's List, so I was a little bit leery, but am so glad I called them! It's a family run business. Ivan Strong came out New Year's Eve (tonight) at 4:30 pm to fix it so we could have it working for New Year's Day. He went above and beyond! It was a pain to install these motors, , but he is obviously very skilled. The price was very fair. I was so pleased with their service and will call them next time we need appliance serviced. They repair about everything. Honest and nice folks too. Highly recommend!

    Dan Can Fix It LLC
Although I was hopeful for a quick and cheap repair, given the appliance age the odds of that was about the same odds as winning the lottery.  Dan confirmed the dryer needed to be scrapped unless I wanted to part with a lot of money. He even helped move it outside and gave recommendations on brands he considered to be of reasonable quality. He even offered to respond should I call him with questions on potential purchase of a dryer.
I will most definitely hire again.

Tim called ahead of time and came out a little earlier than the scheduled time. He was very polite and professional. Our refrigerator has an ice and water dispenser that had quit working due to a leak. He was afraid he might no be able to gain access to where the leak was coming from, but took the time and was able to find the part of the tubing that was leaking and repair it. He was very honest and told me, part of the tubing he couldn't get to was rough and he wasn't sure how long it would last. He told me to keep my eyes on it and it it started leaking to stop using the water dispenser. My refrigerator is quite old so appreciate he was able to fix it.

Tyler showed up right at the promised time.
    Reviewed the situation.
Found that the motor was overheating and would eventually fail.
Suggested the cost to replace the motor would not be practical. New washer would make more sense.
What my wife really appreciated was the fact that Tyler did not try to sell her on the motor replacement.
Another company may have not done that, but replaced the motor without giving her the information , she needed, to make an educated judgement about replacement.
    Great service!
