    Hausers Water Systems
I contracted for a new whole house system for my new home construction completed in December 2013 and signed up for regular Hauser salt service with the desire to eliminate water treatment as a concern from the daily grind. I spoke with Hauser's in Jan. 2014 when I noticed that NO salt was being consumed by the unit. I was told that it just may look that way and not to worry, kick the salt reservoir to loosen likely cavities in the salt, and they would look at it next month. I am extremely busy with my own business, family, etc. but took their representatives guidance figuring this was a new installation by professionals and this was the recommended guidance. I never got the next service call until March 29, 2014. When the representative came over with two bags of salt, he found exactly what I had complained about in Jan. 2014. There had been no salt consumed by the unit at all. He tested the water coming out and verified it was hard. I have inspected my expensive brand new plumbing fixtures since and found that nearly all have unsightly scale build up. This is also present in the dishwasher as well as in showers. I cant tell if this is also in the new pipes or washing machine. I dont know how this occurred that a new system professionally installed was not functioning but it doesnt seem to have ever been tested for function since no salt was consumed since installation. The problem was never detected through the service plan until months later even after I raised concerns 2 months prior. Hausers did troubleshoot and replaced a faulty motherboard on the unit on April 7, 2014. Now I need to deal with a massive across the board clean up on brand new showers, appliances, and fixtures. This is in addition to paying for soft water but not getting it for months. When I asked for cleanup assistance, the president said they had called me immediately after the sale to check up on things but I never responded to a message left so it is my fault. I don't remember ever such a call and don't know how a homeowner is supposed to know after install that everything is working right anyway. I am not a water expert and thought I was paying for experts. When I emailed the president this point and mentioned how I did voice concerns months prior to the April 2014 repair to the Hauser representative in Jan. 2014, the president responded:
"Obviously the unit was tested at time of installation or the installer would have replaced the board right away had it been an issue.
When the softener is first put in service the water is soft right away. The installer will cycle test the unit and leave it in brine tank refill. Your problem would not have shown up at time of install. Had you returned Mr. Hartvigsen's request to follow up on the installation it would have been corrected within a month at most.
We apologize for the problem, but in no way will we pay to have your fixtures cleaned professionally.
    Best Regards,
    Sean M. Hauser

They claim satisfaction guaranteed, but wouldn't accept return on the unit, or remedy the adverse effects of their faulty unit. They offered 10 bags of salt and repaired the faulty unit. They felt this was more than generous. I disagree and would not recommend their water softener product, monthly service plan, or customer service.

They are very good. I will continue to use them and I continue to thank them. I've had some really bad experiences with plumbers and these guys are just very good at what they do. They are an excellent, local plumber.

    Rose Water Plumbers Inc
Ginny arrived on time and was well prepared. We encountered another problem under the kitchen sink and she was prepared with all supplies to fix that additional problem as well. She was very good about explaining what she was doing and what things were, as I have no plumbing experience and had only lived in the house 3 weeks. She worked quietly, neatly, and very efficiently. She answered any questions I had and gave advice as to what needed to be done in the future. I will definitely be calling Rose Water Plumbing back for all my plumbing needs.

    Master Plumbing, Heating & Cooling
I found Master Plumbing in the phone book. They did a wonderful job. There was some miscommunication with the scheduling. The first time I scheduled, nobody showed up. They apologized and had someone out the next day.

    Benjamin Franklin Plumbing
They cut two holes in the kitchen ceiling below the shower to make the repairs and declined to patch the holes or recommend anyone who could. This additional ceiling drywall patch work was quoted to me at $200 after I already paid Benjamin Franklin $640 for only a couple hours of work maximum and inexpensive parts. I found out later from local plumbers that I was way overcharged and that others would've done the both the plumbing and drywall patching for substantially less than $600.The Benjamin Franklin plumbers engage heavily in "up-selling" throughout the process, trying to sell you unnecessary long-term maintenance and insurance contracts. Definitely got the feeling that profit-maximization is a primary goal of the owner.
