The appointment went extremely well. The entire visit was absolutely pleasurable experience. From the minute I walked in the door the staff greeted me by my first name, which most clinics don't have any idea who you are after you have been there several times. To the very end of the visit at checking out, the clinic was very effiecient and worked with me in helping me with any questions that I had.

The wait was very long and the staff seemed to be very impersonal.  I felt like I was an inconvenience to everyone including the doctor.  Not sure what the 2 in the office were doing and it didn't seem as they new either.  Just moving back and forth sometimes looking at the same shelf and the same stack of files but doing nothing with them.  I felt unwelcome during my entire visit.  I was told I had some issues that may be related to brain or spine disease and would need further testing.  An MRI was scheduled for 1 week later and an EMG was scheduled for 3 WEEKS later.  During the next week I progressively got worse and ended up in the ER.  I had phoned the office but really didn't get anywhere.  Dr Forsten finally called and my husband listened to the call as well.  He seemed agitated that I had called and ask me "what is going on with you anyway".  My husband was VERY angry and did not want me to see him anymore.  Dr recommended I come in the next morning but to be prepared to be admitted to hospital.  I ended up going that evening due to stoke like symtoms.  At the hosiptal they told me I had classic MS symtoms and did a CT to check for stroke.  MRI and CT both clear so they did blood work.  The hospital sent me home per Dr Fortsen even after I told them that he told me to be prepared to be admitted.  The next morning my husband took me to my appointment with Fortsen.  Again waited for over an hour in the waiting room.  He did an EMG but only on my right arm and said there were no problems with muscles or nerves.  Don't know why just my right arm since most of the issues that day were in my legs and could hardly walk.  He ordered blood work which I found out was the exact ones that was run at the hospital the day before and that my other doctor had done prior as well - total waste of money.  The believes I am depressed and should see a phyciatrist.  My husband was livid and will not take me back again.  I have continued to decline and have an appointment in Iowa City from the doctor that sent me to Fortsen.  Even my doctor said "I can't believe he is giving up already - I have been treating you for two years and he gives up on the 2nd visit!!".  I was told by another person that he is the worst doctor in Dubuque and had been suspended several times for being addicted to pain killers and nearly lost his license. Wish I would have known this before - I will never go to him again.
