    Affordable Dentures
Dr. Kendrick specializes mostly in denture work, hence the name Affordable Dentures. I just needed a tooth removed and fast. I called on behalf of a recommendation from a friend and the appointment was set about two or three weeks ahead. The receptionist had a very nice phone voice, was very descriptive on the policy and procedures so it left no guess work about what was to happen when I got there. I left all my info and they called me back later that day to let me know that they could get the one-time x-ray out of the way today if I was willing. I went ahead with the x-ray but had to take some antibiotics per doctor's orders or he wouldn't be able to remove the infected tooth. I got the prescription filled and the receptionist called me back a few days later to let me know that they had another patient re-schedule and that the doctor could see me. WOW! I didn't have insurance so I was nervous about what he might find or and quot;try to findand quot; but he eliminated all that with a bedside consultation before any work was done and he also provided a price quote. I agreed to let him do the extraction. He and his staff were very polite and courteous to me. He wasn't rude with the needles and didn't mind me squirming a bit. I was very uncomfortable but he recognized that and gave a few kind words and left me alone to let the Novocaine set in while I collected my thoughts. He came back in about 5 minutes or so with a smile and greeted me, then told me every move he was about to make and what would happen after that. The extraction went very well and his staff gave me a full detailed explanation of my care procedures and gave me documentation for some at-home care. I have since returned for several more extractions and their service never faltered from day-one. I was even happy with the waiting room and the people who were in it. The waiting room was elegant and had very clean bathrooms that were just a few steps away. All the people that I met there were very social. As of today 06/13/2011 One-time X-Ray fee is $70 Simple or complex extraction is $80 The local office is 712-276-6646 and Nicki still answers the phone with a smile in her voice. Thanks again to Dr. Kendrick and his staff. I hate going to the dentist and I hate needles even more, but to those who have been in my un-insured predicament, this was the best, fastest, and cheapest dental work I have ever had and this is why I chose to pay it forward. I will close with one parting tip - Be a good customer and you will find better service. If you can't make your appointment - give them ample notice, if at all possible, and maybe your next emergency could be expedited like mine, all from the common courtesy someone else gave them.

    Aspen Dental
Overall the visit went well. Aspen took me in, listened carefully to what I was there for, working to get background and history. First thing we went in and took a full set of x-rays. Met the doctor and after the exam, which appeared to be thorough, reviewed history and what I was expecting from Aspen. Aspen recommended a course of treatment and we proceeded. Thru out the process I felt they were listening and working to make sure I was getting the best service and treatment possible from Aspen Dental. After deciding on an appropriate course of treatment impressions were taken. I returned a week later when they had a wax workup ready for fitting. Fit and feel were great. I was very pleased with the results. Two weeks after that I returned expecting a completed upper based on what I was told however the upper was not ready yet. Hence my rating of fair for punctuality.... it was to be another two weeks before the denture was ready. When it did arrive I was very pleased with the end result. Fit is good, looks natural. I have no complaints at all ..... I would recommend Aspen highly on the quality of the product they deliver. We still are working on a treatment plan for a lower partial. Initial treatment plan did not go as anticipated however I am fully aware of the issue involved and we will be continuing a later date when I decide to proceed. I have held up the treatment plan for the lower partial at this time.

    Aspen Dental
Teeth extraction was painless... i bleed a lot and they let me go into the bathroom..being visible to my family in the waiting area.. my sister came in and took a few pictures.. I was heavily drugged with ativan because i have panic attacks.. I dont remember anything of what they said to do.. i came back the next day for followup.. i was doing normal..  My problem began with the finance lady telling me how much it would cost.. but that was saying that my teeth had to be surgically removed.. if they didnt have to be surgically removed i would get  a credit..I was never told that they didn't have to be surgically removed until about 4 to 5 months later when we had paid off the balance of the Care Credit card that they got for us...we Paid around 8500 .....paid in full.. Something told me to ask about the teeth.. extraction to see if there was a credit.. because i remember the teeth just coming out like pegs in a board....not tugging etc..They looked at my chart and said "none of your teeth were surgically removed.. well i was owed a credit correct? yes 2754.00 ... I was so mad that we weren't told that after the procedure  it should of been applied immediately to care credit so we wouldn't have to pay such a large amount to care credit. We could of had that money to purchase a new furnace which we needed so badly .This money was ours and they left it in aspen Dental land for 4 to 5 months..maybe even 6..It could of been drawing interest...It wasn't theirs   to keep.. So after finding that out...I wanted it back.. they said they would credit me..i assumed i would then get a check from care credit since we didn't have a balance...nothing for quite sometime..I wish i would of kept track of dates... but i was about to get my permanents after about a year...they made the mold  and i was having trouble keeping my lowers in.. and i saw and ad for implants to help with this problem so i asked them about it.. and the office manager said "oh yes these would help you so much" I asked how expensive they were.. never got a straight answer but when i said i had a credit of 2754.00 could that be applied to the implants.. at the time we were talking upper and lower.. she was getting it all in the computer setting up appts.. and the dentist came in and she said "Carole has decided to go with implants" my x-rays were up and he looked at them and said no not enough bone for the uppers.. but lowers they could magically i had enough money for the lowers.. when before i had enough for uppers and lowers..The whole ordeal was shoddy as far as billing went ..I never knew what they had cost.. like i didn't with the extractions. and yes you could say Its my responsibility to ask questions.. but when you are being deceived  with costs.. and you are under such stress because your smile is like yours.. your speech isnt like yours.. you trust what they are saying.. So I am extremely unhappy with the billing and credit and financing.. and i am pursuing my case further with an attorney.. My dentures still dont fit right... i gag.  tops fly out when i am talking.. but I will not go back there ever again...they said basically that they could not fix them.. And i am afraid that the paper i signed when i tried my dentures for the first time ( i had taken Adtivan )  This paper she asked me to sign was for accepting my denture color only..she said.. i asked her I don't have my readers on and cant see to read and she said just sign if you like the color.. this was in no way a form that you have accepted your dentures..So i was assured it was for the color only.. and i even asked a nurse about it at a later appt..she said just for the color was all you signed a paper for.. but now..I am thinking this is paper I signed is unfortunately accepting my dentures..I don't trust them and I am doing all I can to tell other potential patients of there shotty practices and to document everything they do for you.. My  life is basically ruined because i cant chew food.. i dont smile the way i used to.. i am phobic about going out of the house that i will gag and that is so embarrassing.  All in all.. considering my old dentist had told me long ago that he would bankrupt me with all the work i needed done.. rebuild the gums and bone .. when i went to Aspen Dental they assured me I was a perfect candidate for dentures.. and they can make my smile again....I also contracted facial Cellulitius  from 2 teeth extractions before i even talked to them about dentures.. but that is a different story...Please be aware of this company its is a dental factory... and there business practices are poorly done...Do not Trust what they say...Get  everything in writing.
